  1. Brings up a the running programs, i move to gameex and select, and.... DA-Daaa it stays minimised
  2. tried everything now! how strange? if no one knows the answer then feel free to leave a suggestion that does not help! Though, i did try singing in the rain, and making a violin from matchsticks, and i am afraid that neither worked... It is stuck minimised forever!
  3. Change lines to these below! $SCREENMODE=4 $REFRESHRATE=2 $UPDATEMODE=1 $SYNCRATE=1 Just edit c64.cfg in notepad changing values suggested. Let me know if this works?
  4. i have done something wrong while trying to get GameEx to run Vic20 roms from zips (tosec & gamebasevic) (works though!) What happened is that gameex was minimised on the taskbar and i right clicked and closed. Now when ever i run it in a window it minimises to taskbar again. If i maximise it just goes back to full screen mode - help! I bet jessica chris has an answer!
  5. Vice does support zip files - but not from GameEx unless the file within the zip perfectly matches the zip file name, to the best of my knowledge. All I know is that i have tried Vice before and it has the same problem that CCS has when running a zip from gameex. Zip support fails on both This is not really a problem as a modified version of the com file will work fine (I hope) Regarding CCS Vs Vice. CCS is a MUCH better emulator for the running of C64 games. It supports many more of the programming tricks faultlessly. I.E. Dysp, border sprites, bitmap scrolls and samples. It is a master of one. Vice is a jack of all trades and still VERY good and the only real option for vic 20. Hope that answers that question? you really should look in to setting up the C64 (CCS) emulator. It is great fun with SO many wonderful games..
  6. I will look into doing Vic in the next week or so.. I will post it to the usual place if i get it working I will post here and let ya know how it is going.. First thing is to get a selection of roms to check file formats..
  7. HE HE, me OLD mukka
  8. Next thing i think is to do Vic-20 under Vice.. That would be nice.. And the PET perhaps..
  9. See, The Gameex forum is just one big happy family and all are eager to help.... And so is Tempest! He He
  10. My way is easier, NAH, NAH, NA-NAH NAH oh.... Did i mention... My way was easier..? Oh.. I did huh! Ok.. Well... It is! HEHE...
  11. What i do is modify the key binding in CCS to map RUN-STOP to the pc's TAB key. I have yet to find anything that really needs to use the tab key on the c64. you could also use ` (the one next to 1) but TAB is fairly close to where RUN-STOP was on the humble C64 and seems to work well! Easiest way is to open C64.cfg in notepad (right-click, open with..) scroll down to a bit that looks like this ... $KEYMAP000e=00 $KEYMAP000f=72 $KEYMAP0010=76 ... ok $KEYMAP000e=00 $KEYMAP000f=72 = This is the important bit $KEYMAP0010=76 Just change the 72 to 77 TAB will now be RUN-STOP on the C64 hope that helps to make C64 even more enjoyable
  12. you need to add it to a zip file. or paste the contents into a reply..
  13. please send me your c64.cfg file from your ccs folder.. This is really strange???
  14. Let me know - am sure we can sort it out. Send me your ccs config file if any probs!
  15. Only having a joke at your expense I do like to have a joke, these padded walls get so tiring and dull hmmmmmmm
  16. Ok, here goes... 1) Please download the updated config files from here UPDATE 2) Put c64.rar contents in your ccs emulator folder as before. 3) Run CCS.exe from windows (not gameex) and put into a non-window mode - then PRESS RETURN to set it (while on the screen resolution line) 3) Set ccs refresh to 60 hz 4) ALT-F4 5) do-not re-enter ccs unless from gameex (its better that way ) 6) check shoelaces are tied (don't want you tripping) 7) run gameex and hope all goes well this time.. If ccs is running full screen, the desktop setting in gameex really does not matter.. good luck
  17. The file has been updated to support crt and tap files.. Hope all works ok.. Remember, all this was your fault as you started this damn topic :) regards. Update
  18. My intro movie runs for 3 hours and is possibly on the long side. It was getting a little annoying watching the video every time.. Why did no-one tell me i could press a button.? I tried everything else... Opening the fridge door, jumping on balloons, stealing sweets from children, and even patting my head while rubbing my tummy.. Nothing seamed to work... Wow - GameEx does EVERYTHING...
  19. You don't have to have set desktop to true! I have it turned of.. All you need to do is run the ccs emulator on its own (without gameex). When loaded press ALT+V and set the video mode to a full screen mode i.e. 640x480. Set the refresh to 60 (games run slightly faster but much smoother). Change any other options you want and then press ALT+F4 to quit... Now run it in gameex and all will be fine. I have show desktop off as it gives a cleaner entry to the emulator. Hope that helps!
  20. They generally only contain the rom parts that have changed since the last release update your romfiles with the contents or use clrmnane! use your friendly google search for clrmame help!
  21. you can find a ccs64 config here http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?sh...ost&p=38110
  22. Download the theme pack as it contains a few v2 themes - i used one of them as a starting point! Good Luck!
  23. I have my current theme running at a "funky" 1920x1200 resolution and all looks great to me check here Try editing the theme ini like this [General] Version=2 Width=1680 Height=1050 XRESOLUTION=1680 YRESOLUTION=1050 . . . . etc. It works for me.. After you have done this you will need to open it in the editor to move and resize various elements to suit the resolution. Remember to back up the theme.ini file everytime you make a successful modification.. things can go wrong and gameex will drop out on boot.. Try not to resize anything over the boundrys of the resolution set. If is quite easy to do (the toolbar is one as it is resized by the editor) Let me know how you get on.
  24. try calling the mame background bak.png , this works for me!
  25. It is very easy to do using the theme editor, i run mine at 700x700 for the vidsnaps. open your v2 theme (backed up) in the editor and head to 'layout (Start)' in the templates list and resize the snap window. you may have to move a few other things to keep it tidy, though it does no harm to play.
