If you post your C:\Program Files\GameEx\LOG\log.txt file it should tell us quite a bit about your configuration. First thing I would check is if you're running at 32-bit colour depth.
I made a theme called HyperStyle but then just extracted the backgrounds for use in any theme. These are obviously influenced by HyperSpin but I did NOT rip any of their graphics, everything was made from scratch by me. I have total respect for the guys that make the HS themes, it's all very time consuming (and quite frankly RSI inducing). Anyway you can check them out here.
When the forum gets quiet I always think it's because noone needs support. But it comes in waves. PS Tom it's winter over here and very cold but I hear it's been hot in your neck of the woods.
Version 2.35 Released - Fixed wrong detection of invalid xml files Maybe it might work for Tempest now? Most of the better features are built into GameEx now anyway.
What color are you trying to set? The theme color? If so download the Color code utility from here and enter R:0 G:143 B:24 If you mean the hex number from Photoshop it's #008f18
Run the Setup Wizard and select Custom->Emulator Setup. Select your WinUAE config and click the [...] button next to Advanced Config. It should launch the Advanced Config Editor. Under the General tab you can enter keys for it to send. Enter "{MULTIPLY}" into "Keys To Send On Exit". Then select File->Save As... and give it a name (Eg. "WinUAE"). Close the Config Editor and then select your newly created config from the list.
cdgvid.ax is a DirectShow filter so it may well be a bug in the codec. When it crashes is it always in cdgvid.ax? Is this crash when playing a "cdg" karaoke file? Do you have the DirectX Karaoke plugin installed? Unfortunately this software has not been updated in a long time and may be a bug. If it's not the DirectX Karaoke plugin you may want to try updating to the latest codec pack you're using (we recommend the Vista Codec Pack).
You need to configure your mic's inside Windows. If you have XP select Start->Run and type "sndvol32" then Options->Recording and make sure your Mic has some volume.
You can set individual emulators to not play in the screen saver. Check Emulator Setup->Play in Screensaver. No need to delete games. Unfortunately not all emulators will play nice as a screensaver.
Any decent modern video card should be fine. Performance is not entirely dependent on the video card though so if you have a really old PC a new video card may not help that much.
