  1. If you're using GameEx Login feature you can just use the "LogOut User" menu option and it should bring you back to the GameEx login screen.
  2. You really need to talk to Flash as he manages the data.
  3. I believe it's in the "Do you like GameEx?" pinned topic.
  4. IMHO If they had of pinned the earlier poll then it would still be No. 1. I have no idea why they created a new poll when there was one already.
  5. Happy Thanksgiving to all our American friends
  6. There are quite a few apps on the web that allow you to minimize any application to the icon try. Do a search on Google for "minimize to tray". If you want something free try "minimize to tray free".
  7. d3d is "Direct 3D", ddraw is "Direct Draw" and "GDI" is, well GDI (Windows 2d graphics system) but depending on the version of MAME, the graphics card, CPU different settings might be better. The idea is to experiment and find what works best for you. d3d should be the best option but I would see what the others are like. There is also a "Tweaks/Performance" section in the Setup Wizard. Try out some options in there. You can also try reading the I have performance issues FAQ question.
  8. It might be nice to add a feature to request a future challenge. The day and time along with a length of time the user will wait or serve a connection. You could have a list of challenges coming up in their own region's time so people can organise to play each other.
  9. You can use Marquee Magician or CPWizard to display images on a secondary monitor. I'm not sure if there are any tutorials. Setting up GameExtender is pretty much a matter of setting a few options in the Setup Wizard.
  10. Do you have the latest version of Flash installed?
  11. A few other things you can check - Download and install Process Explorer and check out your CPU usage when running a game from GameEx. - Check the "video" option in mame.ini (it can be gdi, d3d or ddraw)
  12. What do you mean by the games lag in GameEx? Do you mean the videos? If so try the SD versions if you're currently using the HD ones and install Shark's codecs just to make sure you have a recent codec.
  13. You can use GameExtender for that...
  14. The auto rotate settings in MAME only work for vertical games.

    Bezels revisited

The attract mode bezel's (with the game info at the bottom) should not be messing with the standard bezels used in MAME when you play a game. When GameEx goes into attract mode it sends the following command line option: -bezel -artwork_directory artworkgameex The "artworkgameex" folder is where the attract mode bezels are stored. The default folder MAME uses is simply called "artwork" and that is where you should be placing your custom bezels. In your mame.ini file you should have artpath artwork As well as a folder in the root of your MAME folder called "artwork". There are two separate bezel options in GameEx as per the attached screenshots. If you want custom bezels set GameEx's "Use Bezel" option to "Don't use Bezel" then just make sure the following option is set in mame.ini use_bezels 1 Then MAME should use the bezels you have stored in the "artwork" folder. PS You can leave the attract mode bezels on and they should not interfere.
  16. In your mame.ini file set one of the following (by making it a '1' instead of '0') to auto rotate left or right autoror 0 autorol 0 Also I noticed your MAME Rom path is set to C:\Emulators\Mame32\Mame_133\roms;C:\Emulators\Mame32\Mame_133\roms GameEx supports multiple ROM folders separated by a semicolon but you have the same folder twice.
  17. The rating stars is a good idea, and since GameEx already has the rating data from MAWS that could be the default rating for all the games. The ratings are currently only displayed on the Bezel Info screen. Another feature request.. I wrote a little util a while back called volume. What that did was load and save master volume settings for each game. So when you start a game it loads the last setting and when you exit it saves the current volume. This is great for games that have various volume levels and require constant volume changing. Anyway I would like to see this feature built into GameEx if possible.
  18. What Adultery is saying is you can disable ESC from exiting GameEx and use it's shutdown menu option to shutdown instead. If you want want shutdown using the ESC key you can always add the following to "Launch On Exit": C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe /t 0 /s /f
  19. This goes back a loooong time ago when I first setup ScummVM
  20. Maybe we never needed dummy files? From memory I think GameEx always listed games in a map file even if they didn't exist. So yeah, nice find there Cabirus!
  21. The best way to find an option is to use the Setup Wizard's search feature. Typing in 'shutdown' you can find the appropriate setting
  22. Great to hear! PS Attached is the background to that theme with 'Press 1P to Start' removed. All you have to do is copy over the other backgrounds in the theme's folder (if you view the folder in Windows Explorer with thumbnails turned on you can see which ones you need to copy over).
  23. The GameEx cocktail mode has nothing to do with MAME. But still it is strange that MAME doesn't seem to be saving your settings. When you set an option or dipswitch it should save that data to cfg\[rom].cfg. So when you exit the game check the cfg file has saved the settings. There is also the option in mame.ini to "savestate" so when you restart a game it will be in the same state. But you shouldn't need to do this to save dipswitch settings.
  24. Yup it's in GameEx\MEDIA
