    LEDWiz Advice

I've never heard of any of these problems myself. I wouldn't worry about it. The interface I'm using with the LEDWiz plugin isn't official software from GGG. So it may not have any of the issues mentioned in the article. Also, I need testers for the plugin I'm developing, so if you do decide to get a LEDWiz, you can help test here.
  2. What format are they? Perhaps you need special software to extract them to their cdg/mp3 counterparts.

    Happy new year

Happy New Year! I'm a bit late I know, but I've been recovering from a major hangover Nice to hear you have your plugin working well Cupid!
  4. Hey loadman welcome to the boards! Hmm, this is wierd, you didn't have any problems with LCDTest lighting up for games did you? I think I've had two people test that as working. ourgrace: Can you post your LCD.ini file here please.
  5. If it's not already implemented, I think it's a great feature request.
  6. What about the option to enable/disable IPAC & Arcade X support?
  7. I just realised you have single LED's not RGB ones. The audio demo doesn't work very well with single LED's. So don't worry about testing that. As for the games not lighting up, when you select a game from the list what happens? Are you getting data outputting to the Debug Info window?

    NeoRageX

Tom did mention an IRC/chatroom type feature for GameEx. So it could very well be in the works soon. Personally I think it's a cool idea. If Tom decides to implement the plugins that allow complete modules like this, I could actually write such a thing for GameEx myself. But their is talk, and this might tie in with the keyboard/search feature too. The actual IRC code for connection etc. is quite easy to implement, it's more about the actual text display and input handling.
  9. Posting the log file could just be problems with the forum timing out. I've had issues here before, so that would probably relate more to his ISP/modem/speed/location etc. puppetj: The only thing I can suggest right now is that you export all your emulator settings, then uninstall GameEx (then manually delete the C:\Program Files\GameEx folder to make sure it's completely gone) download the latest version of GameEx, then install again and import back all your emulators. At least then we know you have all the default settings is GameEx.
  10. Did you try turning off the direct input option?
  11. There is an option in Project 64's video settings to have it start in full screen mode. Make sure this is set.
  12. Can you try turning off my Exit GameEx plugin and see if the same problem occurs.
  13. Try pasting it here then post a link to it here.
  14. Thanks Adultery I couldn't have put it any better than you did in that post! I'm sorry if you felt I was attacking you puppetj, but imagine your car breaking down and calling up someone to help you fix it, and all you can say over and over is that the car won't start. You will never be able to fix it, so were only trying to help you by telling you what we need to know to help you do that. I'm sorry if I was sounding a bit harsh. Lets go through this step by step... You state here you have .NET 2 installed. Here Adultery recommends installing .NET Framework 1.1 as wall as 2.0... .NET 2 is not an upgrade to .NET 1.1, they run parallel.
  15. I can compare you explaination to finding a solution that is a needle in a haystack. To solve a problem we need facts beyond "you stand dont button mash or/and button all buttons dont at the at the time or whatever". To me that is a mishmash of confusion. You don't even make it clear whether or not you have an ipac " btw i dont need ipac i'am ok." is about as vauge as you can get. I don't know if english is your first language, but you need to be clear, and concise in describing your problem. You also need to do problem solving on your end before anyone here can even consider what might be happening. You could have a simple problem, but without the facts we can't help I'm afraid. Think hard, try a few things, and post again.
  16. The experts for this sorta thing are all on BYOAC...
  17. You use MicIn for a Microphone. LineIn is for an audio source like CD, video etc. If your Microphone is going through a mixer or amplifier then use LineIn. If you are plugging the Mic in directly use the MicIn.
  18. Hey katuuuz Nice to see you back on the forums! I'm not sure about posters or anything like that (might be worth asking on BYOAC's graphics forum), but I do of Arcade Art. Alot of stuff on Arcade Art is made in vector format meaning you can size it as much as you want without losing quality. If you find some nice vector art on there you can take it to a printer and get it printed poster size. Then find a company that will block mount it for you. It ends up quite expensive but there is no expense when it comes to love!

    Lingpanda

I think it's perfect, the only things you could add but I wouldn't bother are the following. I'm really only going to say these for future reference, I don't think you need to change anything. - When you browse for your Mame folder in Basic Mame Settings it will automatically try to fill in the Mame exe and the other folders for you (if it finds them). You don't really need to say this though. - MAME Options in the Advanced MAME Settings I think these days you need say "-video dd" to force it to use the old Direct Draw rendering (for older machines). And "-video d3d" for faster video cards. Although I think it uses d3d by default in newer versions of Mame. - Verify ROMs seems to get people sometimes. I'm not sure if mentioning it would confuse more than help though. - After you run the Verify Setup function, you can mention that you can use the Back button to fix any errors you've made. Again I think this is mentioned in the Wizard anyway so not worth putting in. I like how your using the Custom Wizard mode, it certainly saves some time. Nice work lingpanda!
  20. Once you have installed GameEx on your new PC, just copy the entire GameEx folder (from C:\Program Files\GameEx) from your old PC over your new machines GameEx folder.
  21. Run WinIPAC and press the radio button that says "Show shifted keys". Shifted keys are key combo's that work like shift on a regular keyboard. These are so you can have more functions with less buttons. At least that's how I assume it works. Run WinIPAC in test mode and see if you can get that ESC key pressed using key combo's. I actually don't know much about it myself, but it's worth a look. If your saying it only crashes on the 2nd round then a shited key sounds less likely to be the problem. But it does sound more like a Mame issue than a GameEx issue too. But then you say it dosn't happen outside of GameEx. So it's a very strange problem indeed! There is probably no point in us speculating any further. You need to do more experimentation and try to identify exactly what situation is causing Mame to exit. Is it just one game, several games, is it at stage 2, or is it after a certain amount of time, what keys cause the exit or is it not keys at all, etc. etc. As Number 5 would say "need more input".
  22. Sounds like your onboard soundcard is not full duplex, meaning it can't playback as your record You could check your notebook's website for the latest audio driver. Other than that the only option is a PCMCIA soundcard that you can plug into your laptop.
  23. GameEx shouldn't touch the inputs for your soundcard. Perhaps your soundcard doesn't allow you to monitor the input while playing back, I'm not sure. Have you checked your Playback settings to make sure the mic is not muted or volume set low. You have to check both Recording and Playback in the Volume Control. Most soundcards allow you to plug in a mic and hear your voice for recording. This is a feature that has nothing to do with the Karaoke plugin or GameEx. You should be able to get the mic working through your laptop without even launching GameEx. So I would try and get it working on the desktop first. You might want to try using the Sound Recorder application and see if you can actually record from your microphone too. If worse comes to worse you can always buy a PCMCIA sound card.
  24. Thanks for the video, it looks good If you can get the audio function to work I would love to check out a video of that. Loadman has sent me a video of it working for him and it looks pretty good. Although the Offspring song wouldn't show it off as well as a song like the Chemical Brothers one Randy had in his audio demo.

    Light Guns

I don't know anything about Light Guns so forgive me if this is way off. But do the mouse settings in Windows effect the lightgun? Perhaps the lightgun is treated like a normal mouse device, so maybe you have to adjust the settings? To find out if they do, select Start->Settings->Control Panel->Mouse->Pointer Options.
