I guess I just don't like Nologic having his stuff pulled...When you guys finally push me over the edge, I'm gonna make you remove everything I ever did here, including my posts, and then where are you gonna be? I say take the statement above to court, and re-post his stuff.... I'm not serious on that (well not totally) His attitude is just annoying sometimes... I wasn't trying to start anything, I just ran across that while searching (I do sometimes try to solve my own problems ) And I thought it was ironic. No ill intentions towards your fine work!

I'm not a programmer but...I see everything as being separate still on my computer. Different files for the various emulators\roms, etc. Its just that by checking a list, GX would launch the appropriate emulator. The only reason I see to have every emulator separate is to say "I've got 99 emulators set up" which you still will have, it would just be harder to show people. Personally for ease of use, I'd rather have GX choose the "best" emulator for me....And do away with all of the duplications of games. Of course the dupe's could be eliminated by deleting the roms.

Yeah, I wasn't suggesting you do all this. I was just bitching. My point with winterblast's plugin, is that you DO have to do every freakin' game, I don't get why it doesn't build all of the .cfgs for you from one setup. At any rate, I have all of my configs from WB's plugin, but nobody has offered up a way to use them, So I'm going to use AHK. I think it will be easier in the long run, when I build a new cabinet, and want to change mappings anyway. If you have a version that you want me to try, post it. Also, the biggest issue right now for me is the Artwork...

I downloaded the mouse2key, and manually started it, so AHK is sitting in the system tray. When I run GX, I get this error: 11:31:36.9 4/3/2008: Initialization OK! Starting GameEx! 11:31:37.0 4/3/2008: Testing Main Loop Once: Processing Frame 11:31:38.6 4/3/2008: Testing Main Loop Once: Main Loop ran successfully 11:31:38.7 4/3/2008: 21 Consecutive Exceptions Occured 11:31:38.7 4/3/2008: Index was outside the bounds of the array. 11:31:38.7 4/3/2008: at l.c() at l.au() 11:31:38.7 4/3/2008: Trying reinitialising the display after sleeping for 4 seconds 11:31:38.7 4/3/2008: Exception count will be dropped to 15 11:31:46.7 4/3/2008: --**-- 11:31:46.7 4/3/2008: 21 Consecutive Exceptions Occured: Exiting 11:31:46.7 4/3/2008: Closing database connection 11:31:46.7 4/3/2008: First Exception: 11:31:46.7 4/3/2008: Index was outside the bounds of the array. 11:31:46.7 4/3/2008: at l.c() 11:31:46.7 4/3/2008: at l.au() 11:31:46.7 4/3/2008: Last Exception: 11:31:46.7 4/3/2008: Index was outside the bounds of the array. 11:31:46.7 4/3/2008: at l.c() 11:31:46.7 4/3/2008: at l.au() Am I doing something wrong? How would I start and stop it automatically with Gameex?

That's what I meant...sorry! Thanks BK!

It's a Gameex feature, in "advanced configuration" got to the emulator you want to change (in this case Gens), and Look for "database" I think it's on the 3rd, or 4th page. Pick your emulator from the drop down list.

I almost responded to your original post, Believe it or not, I do have restraint sometimes. It would have gone like this: It better not be completely stupid, that's my area! But so far as what you are working on, I was setting up more stuff yesterday, and I thought it might be nice to have all of the Arcade emulators integrated like Model 2, and zinc. From what I can tell, Raine, Nebula, Winkawaks, and others all use Mame roms, So why not have the option of one list, with each emulator running the games that it does "best". How hard would it be to do what you are doing for other emulators? Are you planning on setting this up as a emulator group when you are done? I guess if you are, then you would have to set up mame as an emulator twice, Because I don't think you can have the "built-in" mame in a group.
-
If this is the case, can you just use your mame.cfg from mame UI32? I haven't tried compiling yet, although I'm planning on it in the future, and this is one of the (mental) blocks that I have...I also guess that I am waiting till I am (mostly) done messing with things, and the last two things I'll do is compile, and shelling.

I'm going to be honest, when I first saw HK's response I didn't get it. I thought if I don't need a wrapper then I'll move on. I can now see (because of Tom educating me in British humor, and Australia being a British colony and all) that what he was saying is "If Gameex integrates it, it should be integrated better". Come to think of it, aren't we a British colony too? I don't beleive I am the right person to answer this, because I'm not sure what a wrapper can do. I can tell you that Zinc is a pain because: It use's numbers instead of names There's no built in way to edit sound and grahics plugins (can be done in other programs) There are no default.cfg, so each game has to be set up individually for controls and other options Even winterblast's plugin sucks in response to #3. If I remember right, there are two basic control setups, so why not set them up once, and have the plugin crank out the appropriate game configs? I guess it would be nice to have these issues addressed, and then a simple explanation of how to get it setup. It just occured to me that I don't know what the hell I'm talking about! I shouldn't cross threads, but with Brian's setup is there an easy way to have the artwork display? I tried re-naming the artwork to the bat file, instead of the rom name, but it didn't help...
-
Brian, I set up zinc using this method today, it works fine, just one question. I had my controls setup via Winterblast's plugin. I copied the file containing those config's into the new zinc directory, but it didn't work. Is there a simle way to use what I have, or is it time for me to quit being stubborn, and learn how to use ??? I can't think of the name, it's not AHK is it?

I have to agree...

Try the ffdshow from the gameex website.

Actually, to most of us, this is greek: Δεν είναι πραγματικά κρίσιμα "πράγματα" αποστολής που επισήμαινα αλλά πρακτική ουσία για να ξέρω. Collections.Generic. Ακόμα αποκτημένου για να είμαι _ σωροί _ της ουσίας για να βρώ ακόμα μέσα εκεί και δεν έχω εξετάσει ακόμη και 3,0 πόσο μάλλον 3,5! That stuff that HK wrote is "Geek" No offense HK, I truly wish I spoke geek too!

Just so everyone knows, the problem we fixed is me not knowing the proper way to use the command prompt. I played with the blitter, and zoom, stretch, and some of the other video settings, but apparently I didn't find the right combination. I fixed (patched) the problem by using: wait before keys: 5000 keys to send: %{enter} %{enter} if anybody has a more elegant solution, let me know... Thanks for your help fRequEnCy!

This topic is before my time..... I would like to see fully customizable pages - so I can choose what shows up on what page. I envision it as a set of folders and files, if you click on something that is a folder, it takes you to another page. If you click on a file it starts an application.

You keep making posts, and soon you'll be an "Ultimate GameEx Guru!" too!
-
I couldn't help but notice that Winkawaks has built in kalleria....

I appreciate it! (also thanks to Canti for offering) The logos in the .zip were in.png format. I used the .jpg's to upload, so people could see what I was asking for without having to download the .zip ... you had me wondering though, I thought maybe I had zipped up the .jpg's by mistake! I also appreciate the modifications to the Tempest one, I had noticed they were different, but I have no experience in Photoshop, So I would have never thought to ask, to make those changes. Your the man! Thanks again.

Until you mentioned it, I hadn't noticed the promotion.... I know that you know this, but being an "Ultimate GameEx Guru" doesn't mean I know anything, it just means I talk to much. When I got my first promotion over at PD, I begged them to take it back so people wouldn't expect too much from me. I feel sorry for the poor schmuck who takes my advice because of that title thinking it must be OK. (It will be April 1st all year !) Maybe if they saw that most of my posts had one of these , they would take it with a grain (or two) of salt. At any rate, heres a pic:

The only thing I can think of is if you have the volume on your computer turned up, then are using the volume control in pj64 to cut it back some.... in other words, turn the volume up in PJ64, and down on your computer and see if they end up being equal.

Orclord should be committed if he paid $44,000.00 for that car. I know, I know, your saving the rest for a new computer, and cabinet!
-
I did have, I found out the problem was I was trying to run a game I didn't have the rom for....Rookie mistake...I should know better. (no Aprils' fool joke!) OK. Its running, and I have the options: "winkawaks.exe" [ROM] -fullscreen It isn't quite fullscreen, and I can see the Winkawaks window behind the game (about 3/4" all around) If I run it standalone, that doesn't happen. What now?

Does anybody have a different setup for PT now that the loader is gone?
