In my opinion (if I say that first, I'm not wrng even if nobody agrees with me, it's just an opinion ) I would try to get this working instead of trying another emulator (of course, as I mentioned I don't use any Snes emulator) I think that if you switch emulators, you'll just end up with a different set of problems. 1st question is, and shall always be "Do you have it running outside of Gameex?" by that I mean Gameex is not running, and you are running the emulator stand-alone. If the answer to that question is yes, then you need help setting it up in Gameex. If the answer is no, then you need help setting up the emulator. That would go along way in giving us a starting point to help. There is a tutorial, for ZNES, and many other emulators here: http://www.mameworld.net/easyemu/ If you don't have it running stand-alone, please try reading that first. Don't get me wrng, we will try to help all we can.... Please post again if you need help! Tempest

Enable alpha paging Enable delete games Run setup Wizard, select search, then search for those two items. You may have to vary your search terms, for example, try just searching for "alpha", or "alpha paging"

Again, I don't use SNES (That's my excuse if I'm wrng ) You say your roms are in file format? I'm not sure what that means, but your config says: I would assume your roms should be in 7z.....romname.7z, or this should not be set to true. If I get this one right, I'm 3 for 3, (if you go back it's more like 3 for17, but who wants to go back?)

I believe that if you rebuild to a new directory, it will only copy stuff in the dat, and you won't have to delete anything when your done.

We appreciate you letting us know how you fixed the problem. So many times people don't.....and it's not very helpful to the next person. Thanks!

Just out of curiosity....was I close? At least the two links will help

I'm on a one answer roll, so I'll give it a shot... Sure, go ahead and use the setup wizard again go to Custom, this time select "set up emulators" If I remember right, you have to choose your emulator from a drop down list, and then there are four pages for each emulator to set them up in Gameex. Also in the setup wizard there is a place to download emulators. This time choose "search", and use "download emulators" as the search words. If the emulator you are looking for is in the list, then use gameex to download it. I think it is best to set up an emulator outside of gameex first, to make sure everything is working, then get it to work in gameex. There is a good guide to setting up Gameex here http://www.hfc-essentials.net/gameex/ courtesy of Adultery (I hope that's right) and a guide to setting up various emulators here: http://www.mameworld.net/easyemu/ I hope I was right, and I hope this helps....(I've got my fingers crossed)

use the setup wizard choose "custom", then "Advancemame" (not advanced mame settings) then advancemame options... you may have to go to the right to see it, but the path is there. It looks like this is set at a "standard" path, because mine is the same as yours. I don't use advancemame, so I never noticed. Brian - I GOT ONE RIGHT!

Actually I think this guy posted here, he was on a radio show, or some kind of a radio cast or something....ring any bells anybody? Edit: When I google this: Mame cabinet +betabrite I get this: This is a more detailed video of my MAME cabinet running Gameex. ... and Betabrite sign driven by the awesome GameEX and Headkaze's PluginLCD. ...
-
I don't know if its a good example or not, but the guy uses Gameex, and gives HK credit... http://video.aol.com/video-detail/gameexpl...e-cab/571498859

This is probably not right.... I'm depressed today, don't let it bother you... To me it looks like maybe your paths are not right. It shows roms @ E:\downloads\roms (or something like that) You are running advance mame with a path of C:\mame32\roms (or something like that) Are these correct?
-
Ok. I know your just testing me, doesn't HK's plugin work with the betabrites? I'm sure I saw a cabinet somewhere utilizing them. (well... I'm not sure!)

I've totally lost it I was repling to this, and I thought I clicked on reply, but nothing..... If I double posted, I'll actually be happy because that means I was only wrong about being wrong. I was just using my laptop as an example, because it is 8" high, which I thought would work well in a marquee. Did you see the one that HK had that link too? Like everyone else, I thought "what the hell is this guy thinking", but it turned out way cool... I would buy a tv, or monitor as needed... So far as your wife and the bike goes, just tell her you traded it for some shoes!

Well I certainly don't feel like I'm doing great...I read something of my own that I posted a few months ago, and I thought "Wow, That was really smart", now I'm not even sure how to do what I myself had just done. Ok. back to this... Isn't this about patching the .exe? Doesn't it say in step three of the instructions above to download the Mame.exe? This is as bad as not needing a loader for (I can't even remember which emulator) in that other thread. I thought it was pretty clear in the instructions to use the loader, then you say not too. I'm sure your right, I just don't see how I can screw up something that seems so clear.... I think I've blown a fuse, its pretty dark in here... I'm pretty sure the last time I did any good was with Barcio, and to be honest, I'm suprised I pulled that off....
-
In the instructions above, it says to download the mame source, and the mame binary.... (If I got this one wrong, this will be the last time I try to help... I want all of you to know that I've enjoyed my time here.) (I still reserve the right to ask a question) Tempest Edit: Crap... Brian jumped in while I was typing....Am I wrong?

That's is cool.... Well, being a person of my word, I guess now I have to include it in my cabinet . I was actually thinking of a smaller monitor. The one on my laptop is 151/2" diagonal, about 8" high, and 13"wide. I thought about centering something like that in the marquee, with MAME/Gameex logos on the sides. If the logos were backlit on plexiglass, it could look interesting. I hadn't thought of leaving half of the display outside of the cabinet.... Any more interesting ideas along these lines? Maybe CPWizard display in the top half? Get creative here......
-
I mentioned this before in another thread, but I thought it would be cool to use a widescreen monitor for a marquee, and have the appropriate marquee displayed for each game. If you're willing to write a plugin, I will build a cabinet with that feature. As usual I have no ideas about details... Dual monitor video card?....

You have to click on (highlight) the plugin first... Check my signature for more information...

I'm thinking another option would be to use the harness as input mode. Then your buttons would be seen as joystick buttons. Even if you can't wire all of your buttons to your U360, you could leave some of them on the Ipac. And (as I seem to keep saying) Ultimarc has new firmware to alow for "shifted" keys with the U360 now. Please check my signature for more information....
-
Ultimarc just came out with new firmware that allows the U360 to have "shifted" buttons. So you would have 8 regular, and at least 7 "shifted" buttons, assuming that you would have to use one button for the shift" function. I Don't have mine hooked up in that way, so I'm not sure how it works. If I remember correctly, Andy sends a CD allong with the joystick, but unless he has brand new ones with the updated software, you will want to update your firmware and driver to the latest version downloaded from the Ultimarc website. Those Leaf switches look cool....let us know how they work out.

Check this out: http://annarbor.craigslist.org/tag/611061713.html I don't know them, but these people are from the same town as I am. I E-mailed her about the xbox 360 stuff she said 1200.00 ..... just to give you an idea.

I read somewhere awhile back that Gameex keeps track of games and emulators by number, I.E. Emulator 4,game13. So if you move your emulators around in the list it might mess things up. That may or not be the problem. It has been suggested to me, that If you don't want something overwritten, set it to read only. I went one step further, and made a copy of my Gameex directory before the update. So far as snaps, this is a site recommended to me by Shaunopp: http://www.localarcade.com/screenshotarchive/screenshots.htm They have a lot of stuff, and as far as I can tell, No Roms. If the do have roms, ban Shaunopp, not me!

Hi BlackMage, I don't have NullDC, but I can give you a couple of basic tips for Gameex. I also don't have Gameex on this machine, so this is from memory. 1. Start the "Setup Wizard" and choose "custom". Select "Download Emulators", and "Set up Emulators" click next. 2. Don't kill me, I don't think NullDC is one of the emulators on the list to download, but for future reference check first before installing. More tips: 1. When you are using the setup wizard to "set up emulators" there are 4 pages for each emulator (I think they are selected from a box) 2. You can use the "search" feature in the setup wizard to take you to specific topics. Regarding NullDC, I would start by downloading the Loader in post#18 of this thread, follow the instructions in #20, and if you have any problems, continue to read the rest of the thread to see if your question has been answered. If that doesn't work, report back here. (report back anyways, I like it when someone says "I got it")

Big Party At Shaunopp's Place! Can I come too? I don't think I'm psycho, Therefore I'm not!

Speaking of things that never got shared, I gathered up all of the theme logos I could find, and sorted them out, thinking that it would be nice to have them all in one place and sent them to Tom and Brian, but no link for those either. I could post the link myself, or was there something in the logos that shouldn't be shared?
