  1. When I start gameex the first time (without Cpwizard running), it starts minimized. If I leave the CPWizard running, Gameex starts fine.
  2. I had this problem... I change my maps to be make the center "sticky" one block bigger... so instead of: UUU UUU UUU LLL+++RRR LLL+++RRR LLL+++RRR DDD DDD DDD I have: UUU UUU +++ LL+++++RR LL+++++RR LL+++++RR +++ DDD DDD I have the stiffer spring, I have often thought I should try it... Edit: I had spaces preceding the other characters for alignment, but they don't show in my post!
  3. I have been using handy for lynx, I just downloaded it, imported the config in Gameex, and it worked!
  4. First off, I just realized that Tom & Brian have Hi-jacked my thread...Where is HK when I need him! Back on-topic...if there is such a thing! There was alot of stuff right before this dream that I can't remember... I was pouring some concrete... The next day, I was leaving (maybe I was going on vacation for awhile?), and my friend Ann said that she wished I had gotten all of the work done before I went... I took her outside, and showed her that I indeed had gotten it done. Ann said "That looks really nice, can we open it?" (sure why not, this slab is about 4' x 15', and would weigh in real life about 3000lbs) So we both grab an edge, (its on a hinge) and just as we have it almost open, it crumbles (that does make sense, I just poured it!) A squirrel comes up and starts eating the concrete, and I look down, and its some kind of food (it looked like gingerbread maybe?) I tried a piece for myself, it was quite tasty! The next time Brian, his dad, and his dog have steak, I'm bringing dessert!
  5. My bad...I used the word "never". I "always" do that!
  6. You still can... AFAIK Tom never refuses money!

    romsets

It looks like the games that do not have the # at the end are the better version. I also see that in the small sample you show, that 7 cities of gold is an exeption. You could try a search for *whd#].zip, (or *whd].zip, depending if you want the file to keep, or the files you want to delete) and see if you like the results, or not. You should just move the selected files to a new folder until you are sure...You may want to copy the whole folder before doing anything. I do not have the Amiga set up yet, so somebody else may know a better way, but I think HK would have mentioned it if there was...
  8. Thanks Tom!

    romsets

I don't know what the names of your roms look like, but would it be possible to delete them with wildcards? *(J)*.zip? or something like that?
  10. I believe you can set espxe up both ways in an emulator group. You wouldn' have to have it twice on your computer, Just set it up in two different slots in the Setup Wizard (or Advanced configuration, whichever you prefer) Then just use a group to merge the two lists. You can use groups to merge two (or more) different emualators as well, basically all Gameex does is merge the lists in those emulators.
  11. Glad to hear you sorted it out!
  12. I am running windows 2000 on this computer. I created a folder on the desktop, and write protected it. Then I created another folder inside of it (so far so good). I put a text file inside the second folder. I write protected that file. I made a copy of that file, and placed it on the desktop. I then dragged the file on top of the old one. It asked me first, but it did overwrite it. I tried a bunch of different things, and everytime I was able to replace the write-protected file/folder with a new one. When I was done, I dragged the main folder to the recycle bin, and deleted it! What I'm trying to say is that you are right, windows doesn't care what I do to write-protected files/folders!
  13. This may not even make sense (disclaimer) Is your rom folder write protected? Maybe it lets Gameex add the temp folder, but once it's there, it won't let Gameex overwrite it?
  14. If you look in your Mame folder, there is another folder called "cfg". in that folder is default.cfg, which is your standard setup for player1, 2, etc. There should be a file in there called Blockout.cfg (or whatever the romname for blockout is) that file would contain any mappings that you have setup for blockout. Move that file out of the cfg folder, or edit the controls for blockout in mame, and It should fix the problem.
  15. HK said above: So yes, it reads the std.ini, but then it overwrites those "standard" configurations with anything found in the ctrlr file, and then it overwrites that with the default.cfg, and then it overwrites that with [ROMNAME].cfg. read posts #171, and #173 in this thread: http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?sh...4655&st=160
  16. You mean You had Gameex running in the background? I don't think you can do that. I would shut down Gameex, make the changes in setup wizard, shut down setup wizard, and then restart Gameex. I swear to you that Gameex displays my emulators just as I have them setup in the setup wizard, and Zinc is in the middle of the list!
  17. NOOOOO... It's not sitting around, it's in my computer, running at half speed!
  18. If you do, I could upgrade you to a P4 2.4GHz 800Mhz FSB fairly reasonably...assuming your mother board would support it.
  19. I had the same problem with centipede. I did not know this, but you do not need to assign mouse x, and mouse y, for the trackball in mame for the trackball to work. Set your trackball back to default in your default.cfg, (or just move the default .cfg out of the folder, and let mame build a new default one) and move any other .cfg files out of the mame config folder, and see what happens. CPWizard will read all of your .cfg files for individual games, and I can almost gaurantee you that there is something wrong with your key assignments. If you need more help, just ask... Please let me know if you get it working as well...
  20. I checked this to make sure I was right... On the start page, you are correct, you can not reorder the list. On the page that list the emulators, it lists them in the order that you have them ste up in the setup wizard. In the setup wizard, select "custom" click "next". Put a check next to "emulator selection" click "next". On this page, you can use the up and down arrows to move your emulators around in the list (have a beer handy, it can be slow). If you click on the "A", it will sort them automatically...I assume alphabetically, though I have never tried it. Maybe you clicked this accidentally?
  21. I have the Ulitmarc 360 joystick, and sometimes it "sticks" causing this problem...Any chance that you might have a stuck joystick, or button? If it was a left/right issue, then you could enable "Cab Control Friendly", but that won't help you with up/down
  22. Tom, Tom, Tom.... Tempest is a COLOR vector game! I changed my personal photo to B&W after Greatflash claimed that Asteroids (a B&W vector game) was a "defining moment" in video game history. On second thought , you probably knew that and are messing with me too. Why does everybody do that? What did I do to deserve it? I think a seperate forum would be good. I have found it to be annoying myself, when Greatflash goes off on a rant while I'm trying to learn from all of the "true" Ultimate Gameex Guru's!, and others who may not have the title, but are Ultimate Gameex Guru's! in their own right.
  23. You have to be a Mod to do that... I would delete 90% of mine if I could, and get my correct answer ratio up to about 65%.
  24. I read somewhere that you get the error when the text won't fit into it's box. You can also try running the theme you had in it's intended resolution. It may also help if you allow Gameex to change resolution. I'm assuming that Gameex will switch to the resolution that the theme was designed for, but I haven't tested this.
  25. I believe all of the plugins are included with the Gameex download. There is a plugin manager that you use to enable (configure) them. These are the plugins that I use: If you have an ultimarc 360 joystick, there is the Pluginultrastick to load maps automatically (HK just wrote a version of this himself, Oqqalz's version is included, but does not work with Vista. The LCD/LED wizard is used to controls lighted buttons, Betabrites, and LCD panels. There is also HK's CPWizard which is very cool...It's a standalone program that is now enabled in Gameex configuration, which will display your acual CP layout, and the appropriate labels for each game. It will also display the correct color button for each game if you have lighted buttons.
