  1. I'm not dogging you out.... You can edit a post if you need to... I'm not sure if that's what you were trying to do, but if you want to make a correction, click edit, select full or quick, make your changes, and then click "complete edit".
  2. I shouldn't question the BOSS, but with the extension? I know that the images for emulators in advanced setup do not like to have the extension.
  3. Can you play the video in Media player (or similar program)? If not, you may need to download the appropriate codec.
  4. It's always about the steaks with you isn't it?
  5. Tonight I was working on an old house that I had bought to fix up. I was doing a walk-thru with my sister, during the remodeling. I was explaining to her what I had in mind, and how we could make things better, by adding a door here, and other Ideas I had. She asked me why I would buy a house that needed so much work. I explained to her, that at the price I paid, it didn't really matter what shape it was in. Then I looked outside (through a broken window), and the trees next to the house were burned. I hadn't noticed the trees, or broken window before... (I think this is like "The Sixth Sense", where you see what you want to see.) It is at this point that I realize that the house had been on fire before. I turned to two people standing there, and say "somebody died in here didn't they" They nod their heads. I say "It was me wasn't it" I start to move towards where I know the body is, but they try to stop me. Suddenly I'm laying down, and there is a small child next to me. I reach for the child, and say "Baby" Finally the child reaches out and says "I'm here, it's OK" It's my wife. waking me up. I call her "baby" all of the time. Edit: it was 12:34 AM when I woke up. One of my favorite times of the day. The other one is 12:34 PM It just seems "organized".

Intellectual property rights in this material may be be held by the author(s), First off, I think Greatflash needs a thread or two to talk about nothing in.... Second, feel free to post your own dreams if you want... I have these dreams that if someone could capture the terror that I feel in them, would make great movies! Here's a clever one for starters... I'm a carpenter. I recently finished a project. In my dream, I went to check on it, and the house wasn't there. The foundation was there, but it hadn't been backfilled yet. One of the concrete guys was there, I'll call him Aaron. Me: This doesn't make any sense! Aaron: It does if it's all a dream. Me: Hey, that's pretty smart! Aaron: Yes it is... I'm glad I thought of it! Me: You? I'm the one who's dreaming!
  7. Let's not confuse the issue, we are talking about Asteroids, not Asteroids deluxe.... The reason that Atari never came out with "Tempest Deluxe", is because they got it right the first time! BK, So far as the vector games with green backgrounds go, next thing you'll be telling me is that Starcastle was a defining moment in video game history, because the glass was tinted different colors!
  8. At least you didn't call me hemorrhoids... There's nothing wrong with Asteroids, if your into 2D Black & white Games... Pong is another good one two.

    ZX81 Config

Can I play Tempest (in color) with it?
  10. I'm setting up some more emulators today. I notice that when I click on a blank slot (emulator 25 for example), and then import a config, that the name of the slot doesn't change until I close Advanced Configuration, and then open it up again. It's not a big deal, but if it's not difficult to do, it would be nice if the Name changed when you cick on "save" (refresh advanced configuration). I hope this is clear, I find it difficult to explain what I mean sometimes....

    clrmamepro

Yeah, I downloaded the No-intro dat, I thought it would pick out the best file from my gamebase set for me, and give it a comprehensible name...maybe not?

I have all of my C64 roms in Gamebase format. Way too many files for me. I downloaded the No-intro dat for C64, and tried to build a no-intro set from my Gamebase roms. CMP says something like "either I have my path is wrong, or all of my roms are named wrong" No shit, that's why I'm trying to rename them. I tried RomCenter, same results. I'm assuming that I can't do this. Am I missing something? BTW: all of the guides for CMP that I have found are for mame, and I have used it for mame with good results.

    Sad news

    After the divorce!
  14. Good to hear from ya! Yeah, I went off on a rampage, and deleted CCS, but then I remebered that CSS wasn't the problem, the problem is the unzip program won't run because Norton is Farked on my computer, and causing issues. I will Re-install CCS tomorrow, and get it going again, should only take 5 minutes. I will have to see if installing Norton again and then uninstalling properly will fix my problem. Hey - you haven't commented...do you like my new personal photo? I call it "Tempest 1979" ( a little reference to the asteroids tiff we had) I can't pick on you if your not around!
  15. I forgot that Tom added .zip support. My problem is that apparently I have a corrupt install of Norton Anti-Virus. It shows in the add/remove programs list, but there is no option to remove it, and the program does not exist on my computer. I seem to remember somebody ( I swear it wasn't me ) getting in a yank and deleting the files instead of un-installing... NOW... I delete CCS64 off of my computer, and went back to Winvice. The only reason I switched to CCS64 is because I forgot Tom had added .zip support. So I re-configured Winvice, and said yes to zip support. Everything is GROOVY! Thanks for the reminder chriss. Anybody have a map file for C64? I see Greatflash referenced one in his config....

    Sad news

    AMEN!
  17. I'm just talking... and I'm sure you knew this, but the .cfg files only seem to contain data that is different from the default. So maybe in my pacman.cfg, it might only contain dip switch info, because everything else is "default". So I don't see why making the changes you are thinking of would matter...except of course by copying one file, you would lose any other custom settings that you may have for individual games. I would just make a copy of all of the .cfg files, and try it! I think you can do it in 5 minutes.
  18. I tried this today... I can run a game (uzipped) in CCS64 by itself. My runitgame.bat looks like this: C: CD "C:\Emulators\CCS64" runzip.cmd "G:\C64\roms\LUNARLA5_11849_01.zip" and when run, gives me this error: name of window... 16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem C:|Windows\system32\cmd.exe C:|PROGRA~1\Symantec\s32EVNT1.DLL. An installable Virtual Device Driver failed DLL initialization. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application. Anybody have any idea what this is all about? Edit: Hold on...working on it...
  19. Just looking at the files, I don't see a problem.... But I'm sure you have guessed that I figure out most things by trial and (mostly)error. HK would definately be a better guesser than I am!
  20. Talking to myself... This same method could be used to create the mame .cfg files for every game as found by a search in romlister. I did a search in romlister for 5,6,and 7 button games and found 249 (counting clones) Using the batch output, it could automatically create the config files that you need. I would think the batch would look like this, though I haven't tried it. copy "c:\test\myconfig.cfg" "c:\tmp\%ROM%.cfg" myconfig.cfg is the config that you want copies of. Adjust path to myconfig.cfg accordingly.
  21. I installed CPWizard 1.76 today, I was at 1.66 Really nice improvement to the Layout Overrides HK! It really simplifies how many overides I needed.
  22. As Gameex is today, you can not scroll through a list of pictures the way you want it to in the first two questions that you ask. Gameex will display a snap, or video of the current game in the list if you have the artwork. There is a "feature request" thread, and I believe what you want has been requested already, but if it has not, feel free to add a request for this feature. You can download the latest version of Mame here: http://mamedev.org/release.html you probably want one of the Official Windows Binary Releases, which one depends on the system you have. If you prefer mame with a GUI: http://mameui.classicgaming.gamespy.com/ You do not need a GUI with Gameex, but some people use it anyway. I don't know how new you are to Mame, but keep in mind that for the best results, your roms should match your version of Mame. If you use a program like ClearMamePro (CMP), it will "build" whatever roms it can from the available roms that you have. There is a guide for CMP, and lots of other things, here: http://www.mameworld.net/easyemu/ You may find RomCenter: http://www.romcenter.com/ (an alternative to CMP) easier to use, but Most people would say that CMP is the best. BTW: We wil not tell you where to get roms...please do not ask! Almost anything else is open for discussion! Oh yeah... yes Gameex does display a control panel, but the CPWizard allows you to "build" a panel that looks the same as yours, and has many improvements over the built in CPviewer. I know you have alot to do to get going, but keep it in mind, and check it out when you have time! Gameex has recently added "built-in" support for CPWizard, I haven't tried the latest version...that's my project for today!
  23. I just want to add, that it is ok to use an older version of mame, but I don't believe that CPWizard, or LED/LCD plugin will work properly. It's no big deal, but keep it in mind, and if you have problems with Mame in the future, make sure and say what version you are using.
  24. Really nice Tom! I especially like the "change views" feature!
  25. From what I got out of it, the Mame -artwork is no longer a valid command. In another thread (I couldn't find it) HK says what the correct option is. I'm almost positive that it is something that Tom needs to do, as he builds the command line for Mame based on the options that we have selected in Gameex. I don't know if Tom is aware of this or not....
