  1. As lingpanda said, the I-pac normally uses the "player 1 start button" as a shift key. Not to hi-jack your thread but: They claim it can be re-programmed to any other key, but I haven't figured out how, can any body help me with that? Back on topic: So in your configuration, you would want to use the Player 1 start as the "shift" key, combined with other keys to perform functions. so instead of: 1a + 1b = select 2a + 2b = Back 3a + 3b = Paging you may want (as an example): Player 1 start + 1a = select Player 1 start + 2a = back Player 1 start + 3a = paging You coul also add: Player 1 start + 1b = select Player 1 start + 2b = back Player 1 start + 3b = paging If you wanted to do it from either set of controls. Then, print a little instruction card with the combinations on it, and anyone will be able to use it... BTW: If this post deserves a cookie, I like oatmeal raisin.
  2. Did I use my "I'm way out of my league" disclaimer already? I'm not posting this as a solution, but hopefully as a way to help you, help yourself. (or maybe somebody else will come along and help) I'm guessing that some where along the way, it was either missed, or forgotten that you are using an arcade monitor. This is all from my memory (which is not good ) I think those arcade monitors run at 15hz, and in your setup you had it set for 85hz. I don't believe a "normal" VGA card will do 15hz. There is a program called "soft 15khz" (google it), I think that will do what you want with your current card. The Arcade VGA cards from Ultimarc will allow you to use an arcade monitor as well... There are several Arcade monitor people here, and I'm hoping they will jump in to help, now that it is clear that you have an one. Also, your right, spending money that you don't want to spend is not .
  3. This post doesn't say that you have Gens+ running games... Do You? You should be running the games in the emulators themselves first, and then set the emulator up in Gameex....
  4. This forum thing can be tough...I had a hard time posting without sounding like a was after you with a flame-thrower... In the advanced configuration, go to where you have the setup for Gens+ At the top of the page, there is a button that says "export" configuration (or something like that) save the file to your desktop, then open it, and copy and post the contents into your next post. I'm waiting....
  5. ROFLMAO Good one Brian!
  6. I'm not dogging you out...If I were to do that, Brian would ban me from the forum, and I don't want that... Having said that: This post makes no sense whatsoever... You are saying that the roms work in your emulator, but you want it to run in mame. It doesn't make sense, because Mame is an emulator.... (it's a big circle) Gameex is a frontend for those emulators. Gameex does not emulate anything, it is a program used to organize your emulators, and other programs, to make them easier to use. Why don't you tell use what emulators that you have that are verified to run the roms that you have, and we can go from there. Or: What you were wanting Gameex to do for you?
  7. I did a little looking around... 1. Try changing to 16 bit color 2. Set gameeex to "don't change resolution" 3. Use a lower resolution if possible I really don't know if this will work, But it's all I could find... Again, I'm way out of my league...
  8. I don't know... I don't know much about it. It looks to me like it started off with only 29MB available. Do you have on-board (built into the mother board) available? If so, maybe you could enable that and see if it helps. I am way out of my league... Those two guys on the west coast (Brian, and Bkenobi) will wake up soon, maybe they can help you. The forum is usually pretty quiet on the weekends, if you don't get help this weekend, ask again on Monday. Sorry I can't help you....

    FreeDO

I have it working using the closemul program as shown in the stickied "user uploaded configs" page. I thought I'd throw that in for anyone reading this...
  10. Post your log...
  11. Dude... That is by far the funniest post I have ever read. I love the pics to make everything clear! I was already LMAO when I hit "back" on my browser, and about then I deciphered your user name.... now I have tears in my eyes! Welcome to the forum!
  12. Yeah, like Brian said, you are probably listing games you don't have roms for. Go here: http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?sh...amp;#entry34705 and setup your configuration as shown in the two photos. Make sure and set "only existing roms" to yes, and update the list when done.
  13. No problem... I was wondering if you are happy with the way you have your Ultrastik setup, or would you want to try and get the plugin working correctly. I'm not sure what version you are using, the latest was written by Headkaze, and is verified to work with vista. You will find the thread here: http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?sh...c=5638&st=0 If your happy, no big deal, but it should work....

    icons messed up

It seems that the most common cause of this sort of thing, is that some people have more than one installation of mame on their computer, and are pointing at the wrong one...Triple check your path.
  15. Wow...That's Crazy! LOL We'd be happy to help with almost anything (if we can) If you want to talk about it some more, go here: http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?showforum=2 and click on "New Topic" We really shouldn't keep posting in this thread...
  16. If your using an ultratick 360, I hope you have discovered the plugin that switches map for you on the fly for Mame Games... If not take a look at the program "Plugin Manager".
  17. Damn! I was hoping to waste post #1000 on something frivilous...Maybe I am! The gameex artwork folder is created by gameex for use when the "Use Bezels" option is on. So set Use Bezels to no, or do a search for "bezels", and see what turns up... Brian - Got Steaks? DJ - Your 3-sided cocktail is done! Shaunopp - Have you noticed that "The spike in posts" has gone down? Frequency - Can you write a script to make my spinner (steering wheel) control Gameex in my driving cab? HK - I have given up... (for now at least) I'm having fun with my cabs... Greatflash - Pick any game for that system... as long as it is a B&W vector! BK - I'm still hoping to get my lightguns working before you do. Tom - I upgraded to the latest version, and now my truck won't run anymore! I hope I didn't leave anyone out! Happy 1000th post Tempest!
  18. You can try setting "show desktop" to False, but some emulators won't run with that setting. I'm not sure about NullDC. You can also clear all of the icons off of the desktop, and making your wallpaper black. You may also want to check out the thread on "Shelling" (search for it), but that is only for running gameex on dedicated cabs. BTW: Post #999, I hope it's right!
  19. Controls.ini (XML) has alot of errors in it. Asteroids has 5 buttons, not 3 buttons and a joystick. I believe if you want to go to the trouble, you can join their forum, and post corrections, however the corrections require a photo of an actual CP for verification. (I thought I'd just mention all that). Rather than fight controls.xml, I thought it might be simpler to just create your own custom CP for (insert game name here), put text labels as you see fit in place of control labels, and then use an override for (insert game name here)... I'm pretty sure it could be done that way, but I didn't check, and my memory sucks!
  20. I'm not sure what you are getting at here, but couldn't you do an override for this game with text labels next to the appropriate controls?
  21. Fuzzy Match? There are a couple of programs for this...one can be found here, called "Fuzzy Match Tool" (or something like that) ...I think it was PimpDaddyStu that posted it, or maybe not. The second one I found was on the goodtools site (I'm pretty sure) There's a big discussion over there on who's tool is the best, and who stole who's idea...if you find an argument like that, your in the right place. The computer I have those programs on is offline, but if you can't find what you are looking for, say something, and I'll get it going again. Also, if the tools work let me know, because I haven't tried them yet! Nobody can argue with my kind of logic...
  22. Damn! All I got was a Tempest machine!
  23. Not quite... Sorry about that, I was trying to get it done for your birthday, but until this morning, I didn't know that today was your birthday. I'm REALLY close on Ms. Pacman, I'm waiting on a couple of things, with only about 30 minutes of work to do. I don't want to post pics until she's completed. It's Friday, so I assume your working tonight, maybe some of the co-workers will do something special for you for your birthday! I hope you and Maxxdamage both had a good one!
  24. Don't know if anyone was really interested... There is a Blitz '99 board and hardrive on KLOV for $70 http://forums.klov.com/ubbthreads/showflat...;gonew=1#UNREAD
