BK, Would you mind taking a minute and explaining to me about the 270 steering wheel issue? From what I've read, you should be able to play 270 steering wheel (paddle) games with a 360 steering wheel (spinner). As usual, I feel I'm missing something, maybe I should get off of my butt, and actually try playing a game? Copied from BYOAC: "Most emulators will let you play paddle games with a spinner, but spinner games are generally not playable with paddles, mostly due to the fact that paddles just don't spin that well."

Use Romlister to find what you need. It has a "batch" option to copy the files that you want from your mame roms directory to a new directory. The website has pretty much all of the info you need, but if you need help - ask! TWO CORRECT ANSWERS IN A ROW!

Just to be clear, I'm NOT trying to piss you off, or run you away... Since you are new to Gameex, I wanted to tell you that there are two programs to configure Gameex with. 1. Setup wizard - It has the basic tools that you need to get started with Gameex. It also has a search feature, to help you find what you are looking for. I don't use the jukebox, but if you use the Setup Wizard, and search for "jukebox", I'm sure you would find what you need. I use the Setup Wizard when I'm looking to change a feature, but I can't remember where it is. The Setup Wizard also has a "Verify Setup" that I use no matter which program I used to setup Gameex just to check to see if I missed something. The setup wizard (AFAIK) is a little outdated, so the verify setup feature may find "errors" that really aren't errors anymore. I.E. : Gameex has been updated to allow .avi's for emulator icons, but the setup wizard will report an error if you do. 2. Advance Configuration - Allows far more options to setup Gameex, and emulators, but lacks the search, and verify options of Setup Wizard. I'm on your side, I tried other FE's too, and although none are perfect, Gameex is the one I could get going the easiest, and it has alot of features. I'm not sure what the other FE's have for features anymore, (I'm sure they've all improved), but I really like the CPWizard, and LED/LCD Plugins, and the Utlrastik 360 plugin if you have one of Ultimarc's U360 joysticks. Yeah, after further digging, I figured out that you guys were going by what Mame had mapped. I can see why you would do it that way, but it does cause issues of which I'm sure you are aware. What do you think the odds are of convincing Mamedev of changing their mappings to match the original CP layouts?

A coin door would provide easy access to storage in a cabinet that looks authentic... I picked up a used (non-working) one for $15.

Everybody, BK and I had a discussion awhile back on inaccurate data in the controls.xml file. I have decided to update the file to make it as accurate as possible. Another example is that Special Criminal Investigation is listed as having a joystick, since I own a SCI, I can assure you that it does not... My plan is to check at KLOV first for their descriptions, then Mame CP, and Cabinet pictures. I will not make any changes that I cannot verify, and will be skipping all Majong games. I would like input as to wether my plan is a good one, and possible issues to avoid. Also, if anyone has games that they know are incorrect, please post any suggestions here. HK: I'm probably playing with fire here, but I have a pretty good idea that you have more experience than anyone else here with Controls.xml, is there anything that you would like to see changed? Jeff Leyda (the author of Romlister) mentioned this: Since he already has a work-around for it, I'm not planning on changing any entries regarding the Numbuttons=0 issue, unless you say otherwise. Anything else?

I would appreciate it if you (Brian) wouldn't delete anything with the word "steak" in it... I had a New York strip two nights ago, and so far nothing compares to a steak I got in a place near San Diego... Maybe I should have ordered the "San Diego" strip... This would normally be a good spot for a , but it's not funny... It disappoints me to pay good money for a meal, and receive mediocre food.... This looks like another thread that needs to be cleaned up Brian.... (now that's !)

There are catver.ini, and other files located in Gameex/Data, so point to them. I had this problem, and the only way I could get it to go away was to leave the path to "Favorites File", or maybe "Custom Lists Path" under "Basic Mame Settings" blank. I'm not sure which one fixed it, because I'm not home, and can't verify it.

I'm pretty sure I use "escape" to exit the CP view. I don't know if that helps you or not...

Also, some guy did a help file for CPWizard awhile back... click on help, (and then help again), and check to see you have everything set up correctly. It will only take a couple of minutes, it sound like you have all of the hard part done. Let us know if you get it working, or if you need more help....
