  1. The Advanced configs are in: C:\Program Files\GameEx\CONFIG\EMULATORS I had never looked at one before, so I just did, if you open one up, they look pretty self-explanatory... You can enable the use of one in the emulator setup section in either the Setup Wizard, or the Advanced Configuration program.
  2. You have to use romlister to get the roms you want first... if I search for 2 way, 4way, buttons only, and any number of buttons, I get 2447 roms! If you want fewer, you will have to change your search settings, and verify that the list you get is correct, before running the batch operation....
  3. Sorry, I should have used \ instead of / Use this as your batch command: copy C:\Emulators\Mame\roms\%ROM%.zip C:\Emulators\Mame\Myroms I will edit my original post again!
  4. Try this: http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?sh...amp;#entry34705
  5. Trigger would be a fire trigger like what might be found on a flight stick. Top fire would be a joystick with a fire button on top. I'm not sure, but I think a rotary stick actually had the ability to rotate (I don't know why or how...GOOGLE?) I made a change in my last post, so refresh your browser before you follow my directions.
  6. OK. Go to C:Emulators/Mame/ and create a new folder called "Myroms" In romlister (I'm using build 013) You check the options you want, and then click on "Go!". Romlister opens a new window that shows your working list. At the bottom of the window is a drop-down list with options (Atomic FE is shown) Select "Batch File" from the list of options, and then click on "Save List to File". Another window will open, and asks for a filename. I would call it "Keyboard only roms". It also asks where you want to save the file, just save it to the desktop. That window will close, and another will open. At the bottom of the window you will see "copy %ROM%.zip c:\mame\roms" Delete all of that, and replace it with "copy C:\Emulators\Mame\roms\%ROM%.zip C:\Emulators\Mame\Myroms", (I would cut and paste that into window... DO NOT USE THE QUOTES) then click on "OK". A file called "Keyboard only roms.bat" will be created on your desktop. Double click on the "Keyboard only roms.bat" file, and all of the roms you have selected will be copied to the new file that you made in the first step, C:Emulators/Mame/Myroms. Then you will have to tell Gameex to use the "Myroms" file for mame roms instead of "Roms", and you will have to "update List" in Gameex to see the changes. PHEW! (Have fun!)

Can you run games in nestopia without going through Gameex? If so then export your config. Use Advanced Configuration, got to your nestopia setup, and click export, then post the contents of the file. (just copy and paste it into your next post)
  8. I'm glad it wasn't 3000 roms, because that would have been one helluva long post! After burner uses an adstick device, but I think you are going about this backwards... Use Romlister to find the games you do want (buttons only, 2way,4way etc.) and then use the batch command to copy the roms to a new folder... If you want help with the batch command, we will need to know the path to your roms. I.E. C:\Mame\roms Browse to the folder where your roms are, then cut and paste the path from the explorer window into your next post.
  9. HK, I checked, and the second player controls do not work in alternating 2 player games. In controls.xml, the entry for Tempest looks like this: <game romname="tempest" gamename="Tempest (rev 3)" numPlayers="2" alternating="1" mirrored="1" usesService="0" tilt="1" cocktail="1"> <miscDetails> Super Zapper kills all enemies. Three Zaps per level. </miscDetails> <player number="1" numButtons="2"> <controls> <control name="Spinner"> <constant name="dial"/> </control> </controls> <labels> <label name="P1_BUTTON1" value="Fire"/> <label name="P1_BUTTON2" value="Super Zapper"/> <label name="P1_DIAL" value="Left"/> <label name="P1_DIAL_EXT" value="Right"/> </labels> </player> </game> I also checked Galaga, Missile Command, and a couple of others that I can't remember... It's not a big deal to me, I will probably use Bkenobi's Mame Loader, and have a seperate .ini for two player alternating games, because I like the idea that two people could stand at the machine. (not having to move out of each other's way) However, I think it should be added to your to-do list, because it is confusing to see the two player controls light up when they aren't used. You've probably been sleeping too much lately anyway. Begin ass-kissing:I took the plunge, and donated on the CPWizard page. I donated twice what I would consider my normal amount, because I really think that my cab would not be the same without CPWizard, and LCD/LED wiz, so I donated for each program. Besides, someday I am still planning on adding a monitor to my marquee, and I will need more help... /end ass-kissing If you add me to your list of donaters on the website, just show me as "Tempest" Thanks, Matt
  10. That's funny! I told Frequency the other day, that I had compiled, and forgot to apply the patches! (64bit version) Maybe my memory isn't as bad as I thought...
  11. Did you check this?
  12. Make sure your files aren't write-protected.
  13. All I did was go into Mame, and set the analog paddle to mouse X(axis), by selecting the paddle input option, and then spinning my wheel. I did not use the inc/dec on either the dial, or paddle controls. Maybe that will help you....
  14. Wow! why don't you come down off of your ivory tower dude?
  15. Well Jeez Tempest I don't know... I know you read the whole thread twice, including one reading of the old thread that apparently was defunct before you even started reading it, but would it really hurt you too read the whole damn thing again? I realize your memory is bad, but really, don't you think we have better things to do? I also know that you tried Googling "alternating players site:gameex.info", and all you found was this thread: http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?sh...amp;#entry34846 But do you really think you tried hard enough? We can't babysit you all the time, because we have other people who need babysitting, so learn to take care of your self!
  16. I think you meant "MORONIC" or "IRONIC", because if they waited a year, they could have played in COLOR! I agree, even though it kills me to do so. I don't think Tempest was widely (understood) accepted, and if you had them both running side-by-side, more people would recognize Aste (Hem) roids. Now that I've finally agreed with you (you can pick yourself up off of the floor), I hope you don't think the razzing is over!
  17. Or how about a REAL arcade steering wheel? http://www.happcontrols.com/driving/50283700.htm Only $265, of course it doesn't come with pedals, or an encoder... Probably not an option! I found my driving cab on Craigslist. The monitor didn't work, so I gutted it, and bought a used P4 1.7Ghz, and 20"monitor (also Craigslist)... total cost $145.
  18. yep - that's a 100% true statement! (probably, more or less) I'm going throught them now... When I'm done, I'll upload my romname.cfg's if you want, but then you'll have to program your controller to my keys, or write an AHK script to be able to use them.
  19. HK, This is a great plugin! One question... In alternating two player games, The buttons light up for P1, and P2 controls. Is there a setting that I missed to change this so that only the P1 controls light up? Or is there another solution?
  20. Kiss-ass!
  21. I updated the linky.... I gave this a little more thought on the controls issue... I just need to set inc, and dec, for the pedal, and that will probably make most of the games work (more or less) correctly out-of-the-box. I should also mention that Speed Freak is a BLACK & WHITE vector game. I just thought some people would find that interesting...LOL
  22. Allrighty... I did a search in Romlister for driving games. It gave me 216 roms to start with.... I ran each game in Mame, and checked the controls for each game, and eliminated every one that didn't use a paddle, or a dial. Any game that didn't work, or I didn't have the rom for, I verified at one of these three sites: http://www.arcade-history.com/ (I was really impressed with this site, if KLOV diddn't have it, I found it here) http://www.mamedb.com/category/Driving http://www.klov.com/ I ended up with a list of 97 roms: Pole Position II Final Lap (Rev E) Dirt Fox (Japan) Four Trax Lucky & Wild Suzuka 8 Hours (World) Suzuka 8 Hours 2 (World) Speed Racer Ridge Racer (Rev. RR2, World) Ace Driver (Rev. AD2, World) Rave Racer (Rev. RV2, World) Cyber Cycles (Rev. CB2 Ver.C) Ace Driver: Victory Lap (Rev. Night Stocker - Also uses a lightgun Speed Freak - Vector Game Race Drivin' - I left it in the list, but it also requires an Adstick device to play Wheels Runner - Not on the list, but should be playable on a driving cab (I think it's a CHD game) Here is the XML file: driving.7z If you load this in Romlister using "Settings and Tools" you can further search this list for screen orientation, or whatever you may desire. Also, you will be able to use the "batch output" to move your roms. I checked, and 35 roms use a "dial", and 59 use a "paddle"... which adds up to 94. If I search for !dial & !paddle, I get six games, one of which is "special criminal investigation", which definately uses a dial. Bottom line... I believe this to be as complete a list as possible!
  23. I'm not sure if this is the problem or not, but... Gameex keeps an eye on the process it launches. When that process ends, control is returned to Gameex, so as soon as Bat1 ends, control returns to Gameex.
  24. Are you using Advance Mame? Not trying to treat you like an idiot, but AdvanceMame is a special version of mame that most people do not use. I don't use it myself, so I don't know what the file structure would look like, but since your rom path is Mame32\roms, I assume you are using Mame32. If that's the case, then in the configuration program, set "use Advancemame" to NO, Or False.
  25. You have to compile mame yourself. Follow the instructions in the first post of this thread: http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?sh...pic=4375&hl=
