I'm trying to set up my Joy1 button 1 as my escape button for emulators. I am using a U360, and it is seen as a gamepad. My buttons are numbered 0-7. I copied the "[Mapping Off] Exit (ESC)" config, and made the changes highlighted below. Since Gameex numbers the buttons 1-12, I tried pressing buttons 0,1, and 2 but no Joy (pun intended). I also tried many other things too numerous to mention. What's the scoop? # This is an advanced emulator configuration file. It does things such as allow keyboard only emulators to be operated by a gamepad, wait for additional processes to exit and map keys. If this file is used it overrides the MAPKeys setting for the emulator. [GENERAL] # Enabled. Use this. Enabled=True #Make MCE Back button and X-ARCADE Escape and SlikStik Escape to close emulator process MapBack=True #Make Escape key close emulator process MapEscape=True #When exiting an emulator via the above mappings, you can specify keys in the send keys format to send instead of having GameEx close the process to cleanly exit the emulator. Such as the Q Key or ALT F4 which is %{F4} KeysToSendOnExit={ESC} #Wait for keys to be processed by the emulator EmuWaitForKeys=True #Additional processes to wait to exit or close on exit. Dont include the .exe. Leave blank not to use. There will be no posting in this thread from anyone but me until I'm done with Headkaze! Did you: enable the joystick in the "Led input map" tab? set input codes for your controls in the "Led input map" tab? IE: Joycode_1_up (down, left, right) if it's a game pad, or Keycode_up (down, left, right) or whatever you have your joystick set up as in mame?

I know I've been a pain in the a$$... I tried it with the "light games in list" unchecked, and while it changes the behavior of when the buttons begin to light, it does not change what happens when you use the "Back" key to return to the Gameex lists. Please read this carefully: The emulator profile buttons also remain lit while backing through the Gameex menus, so after running VPinMame, not only are my Gameex default profile button lit, but the VPinMame buttons are lit as well, Even though I am no longer in any section of the Gameex FE that relates to VP. Also, this: Only refers to setting up things in the default profiles tab. So when I talk about "always lit", I am only refering to the buttons lighting up as I set them up, and has nothing to do with the way things work in actual Gameex use. Go to the Configuration program, and try setting up a default profile for an emulator, and see if it behaves as I describe.... BTW: The thing that was stopping my trackball from lighting was that I deleted (set to "NONE") the Mouse (X,Y) analog (Inc/Dec), I wouldn't have thought that that would have made a difference.

Mr. Headkaze (Sir), I deleted my default.cfg, and the trackball lights! I must have something messed up (again ). That only leaves the comments I had on the configuration program, and the lights remaining lit as I back into Gameex. If you want me to fix these myself, I will need the source code, I'm sure by this time, that you can see that I will be a great ASSet to your team! I will edit my post above, and delete the trackball stuff...

Dude, Chum, Mate... You are freakin' hilarious! And I thought I may have gone too far, and offended you...I should have known better! You stop by, and I'll buy you a warm beer!

I think I got the Super Member idea from your wife. Err... I'm sure she was talking about you! See I got four of these, because mine was funnier than yours... What was this thread about? You may want to check out the new title I got for starting this topic... It was either that, or "I'm a little star" from the thread where I helped Clair! Three more of these little guys, and I've met my limit....
-
To be honest, I didn't want to trash the stickied plugin thread with the kind of garbage that this thread has in it so far... Also, I assumed that if I got my "New Thread" count up, that I too could be a "Super Member", or whatever the heck it is that Flash is...

I tried this today, it crashes the plugin manager, I'm using XP64... Anybody else having problems?

Crap! I had a nice reply all typed up, and IE couldn't connect..... Here I go again! Edit: Double Crap! I retyped the whole thing, and now my first post showed up! If only I could get a better connection!

I used the non-expiring Vpinball in brian's package, and pinmame 2.0.1 I wish I could help you more...

HK, I'll try to be brief, but unfortunately one picture is worth a thousand words, and I don't think pictures will really help. This is in reference to this part of a post I made above: The profiles DO work correctly. The confusion for me comes in the profile editor tab in the configuration program. If I select Gameex, and edit the default profile, as I make my choices, the buttons that I am working on light up as I set them up, so if I set P1B1 to always active = true, it lights up white, and then changes color as I move the sliders. If I change my mind, I can set always active = false, and the light goes off. This is all as I expected it to be... These follwing items are not as I expected, or consistent with the way the Gameex profile works: When I go to set the default for an emulator, it starts out with the buttons set exactly as the default Gameex profile. If I uncheck P1B1, and set always active = false, the button stays lit. Also, if I check P1B2, and set always active to true, the button does not light up as it does while setting up the Gameex default profile (This is why I didn't think it was working correctly, I never checked to see if they were working correctly in Gameex, I just ASSUMED that they weren't right because the buttons didn't show the changes I was making.) On start up of the configuration program, when I go to the Gameex default profile, the buttons that I have selected have a tick next to them, and always active = true. If I go to the default profile for VisualPinMame (or I believe any other emulator), It does not show a tick next to the buttons, and always active = false, even though the buttons do light properly during gameplay. (Again more confusion, I thought that I was doing something wrong, and never checked to see what was happening during gameplay) If I exit the configuration program without saving, it saves my changes anyway. (not a big deal) I guess that didn't take me as long to describe as I thought it would, The only other comment I have is that if I run VisualPinMame (again I assume this will be true for any emulator), the buttons light correctly as I am playing a game, but when I back out into Gameex, the buttons for VisualPinMame remain lit, behaving the same as the game buttons in Mame, described above as follows:

OK. I uninstalled the pinball program(s), deleted my directory, and started from scratch. I used brian's setup, but used the latest version of Pinmame. Everything works fine.

Those are nice, but I like girls. I'm sure some of the other members do to. Even Tom, even though Google thinks he's gay. -
Use the rom DLE21, and set your framefile to start on frame 151.
-
BK must be on vacation... You probably have a bin/cue setup, or another similar setup with more than one file with the same name, but different extensions. Set your romfilter to the extension of the file type that works with the emulator that you are using.
-
I'm not looking (I type with my eyes closed) but you need to set your rom filter to *.zip, or *.bin, or *.cue, or whatever file type it is that your roms are in. Edit: I was going to elaborate, but Bkenobi is right behind me, he'll take care of it for me. :LOL

HK, Don't spend anytime on the problem I was having with default profiles. I have it working, but I will have some comments in the future when I figure out what is going on. I have no solution to the trackball issue, or the lighted game button on return to the menu, so when you get a minute let me know what you think.

I'm wasting my morning trying to install hardware, and emulators in XP 64. I am posting a couple of links that I've found, and I am hoping that others will do the same. Logitech Rumblepad2 driver I was missing a dll for Visual pinmame, and couldn't install it manually. This installed some common dlls for me. (I still can't get Visual pinmame to run Haunted House , but at least I'm not getting the dll error. http://www.ascentive.com/support/new/libraryfiles.exe It looks like there are no drivers for the topguns for XP64. I didn't check it out, but it looks like the TopgunII's are supposed to work in Vista 64.

I have a confession to make. I do have Vpinmame installed on my original computer, ans AFAIK it still works on that computer. I checked on my new comuter, which is running XP 64, and it's not running. I tried starting over with Brians setup package, and Vpinmame wouldn't run, because it said it was expired. I followed the link, and downloaded the latest version, and it says I'm missing MSSTDFMT.DLL. So I downloaded that, and put it in my system32 folder, and used the command "regsvc32 MSSTDFMT.DLL" (because that's what they said to do ) and it won't register. I downloaded some more stuff last night, and am going to keep trying today. Questions: Does anybody have good sources for xp64 stuff? (drivers etc.) It would be nice to have links for future use. Is there something special that needs to be done to setup Vpinmame for XP64? Would somebody Please help Adultery get this running?

Old news: Sorry I didn't mean to sound offensive Tempest, I was only trying to give some suggestions incase there was a config problem, but it looks like your right I didn't implement it correctly. Can you please try PlugInLCD 2.79? I told you not to worry about it... I went to another forum, and called a guy an a$$hole... Like I said I was in a bad mood! This still works like this for me, again, if this is the way it is supposed to work, then don't mind me.... New News: 1. I am using the latest version, and the Gameex profile works as I expected. However, when I go to set up another default profile (in my case Visual pinmame). When I first start to set up the profile, it is set the same as the Gameex default profile, no problem, I go ahead and set up the Visual Pinmame default profile, and click "save". As soon as I click on the arrow for the drop down systems menu, the Visual Pinmame profile reverts to the Gameex default profile. I've tried clicking on the first game in my Visual Pinmame list, and clicking on the events tab, and then going back to the profile editor tab, but no matter what I do, it reverts to the Gameex default profile. In regards to this, the Mame default profile "mimics" the Gameex default profile. If I add a button to the Gameex default profile, it is automatically added to the Mame default profile (except the color is white) 2. I also can't get my trackball to light. It is working in the"LED input map" tab, and I have the P1_TRACKBALL input codes set to MOUSECODE_1_UP (DOWN, LEFT,and RIGHT), but it does not light in centipede. The only thing I could find in this thread, is to check the miniinfo.xml, and Centipede does have an entry there. (but you knew that already) When I check Centipede in the profile editor >mame>centipede, P1 Trackball is set to state = false. Maybe It has to do with my Mame mappings? When I check them, I have them set to: Track X Analog - Mouse X Track Y Analog - Mouse Y I tried setting both to "none", but it didn't help.

Whenever you have a space in the path, or name, you need to put quotes around each. My Command line looks like this: WinUAELoader.exe -mode whdload -game "[RomFile]" If an emulator needed the rompath as well, then it would look like this: zsnesw.exe "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]"
-
On the other hand, it would be easy to just use a dual-monitor card, and hook the controls from the second cab to the player2 controls on the first.

That's your answer to everything!

For a guy that doesn't use AHK, I'd say you were right on! Lower case will match either, Upper case only matches Uppercase.
