  1. I was playing with some settings. First time I actually saw an "error on there". log.txt PinballX.ini DxDiag.txt
  2. What's really getting me is I can't get any different behavior from it no matter what I do. Upgraded version. Downgraded version. Uninstall/reinstall. Replaced .dll files from my desktop Pinball X install (this desktop used to be my cab 10 years ago, running pinball x 6.05). Reformatted to windows 10 with a clean install of windows, graphics driver, and pinball x. (Not using that SSD right now). (WTF?) Running Direct x 11, .net 6.029. Nothing in the event viewer shows any correlation to what's going on. Right now everything else on the cab is running fine with the 1050, with no errors. (Outside of a vp crash which I think is Vpinmame.dll related, but has nothing to do with Pinball X. I got no more ideas...
  3. Try running PBX as a normal user, instead of Administrater ** Did not make a difference. Try to disable the use of B2s in the settings ** Did not make a difference. Try to not use exclusive full screen mode ** Did not make a difference. No changes of any kind trying these. I even reverted to 2.60 for the hell of it and got the same thing.
  4. Scutters is correct. Both screens work in windows, Pinball x has the same issue. I tried running .net 4.0, but I already have .net 4.8, so it was rejected because I have a higher version. I believe I also have 6.029 installed. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling 6.03. (I saved and replaced my config, Media, and Database folders after the install). Clearly I also have vp issues as well because some tables I used to run crash now. I'll revert my vp version tonight. log.txt
  5. I tested on windows 10 but didn't save the log. With 1 working screen I still had a black screen for Pinball X. That was directly after the install I installed the driver and then Pinball X and then tested. The one I just sent was for the 1050 under windows 7, the original 2 screen setup before upgrading. The 3060 is in it's box. I will either exchange the 3060 for something else or leave the cab as is. Right now I have no vp issues, but some tables don't load or crash that used to work. A gripe I have is long loading times form pressing play, but I'm guessing that's the processor not being strong enough. But that's not a Pinball X issue.
  6. Ok again- all the ports on the 3060 have been tested (3 DP and 1 HDMI). There's no problem with the cords because when I boot the computer all the selections come up (Press F8 for safe mode, DEL for Bios, etc). That comes up on the backglass before the computer is fully booted. Then when the computer is fully booted the backglass is dark and no signal. I'm returning the 3060. I just put the 1050 back in running both screens, with no stutter or graphics tearing like before. I think that is due to playing with the driver settings when I was running both cards. And possibly the newer driver 474.11 was good for both cards. I will keep playtesting with some higher end tables. Ok, so now I'm running JUST the 1050 for both screens. The 3060 is completely out of the picture. Pinball X boots to a black screen as in the beginning. Here's the log. FYI, I also cleared the CMOS before switching back to the 1050. Not sure if that makes a difference but it was the last thing I tried before I switched back to the 1050. log.txt
  7. Correct, that is the tool. I used the 561.09 when I tried windows 10. It showed as 3060 in the device manager with no errors. The backglass was working during the install as that was the screen I had to click next on through the installation. The 1050 was using the same cords. HDMI to DP for the backglass and HDMI to HDMI for the playfield.
  8. The fix tool is this. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/nv-uefi-update-x64/ 30x series cards are supported, but not listed on that page. I have 2 separate issues. I have a backglass screen not working issue. And, when I run 2 cards to get around it, I get the blank screen when Pinball X loads. Prior to all of this, before I upgraded the card, I was getting black screengrabs on the backglass (was working during play, just couldn't screengrab). That was with both screens plugged into the 1050, BEFORE the upgrade. But, it looks like I have to fix the video card issue before I can fix Pinball X.
  9. Welp... I almost expected this to work lmao! I can't say about Pinball X, but I can't get the 2nd screen to work in 10 either... (with just the 3060 plugged in to both screens). The "fix" tool won't even run. The 2nd screen doesn't have any issues though. I was on the bg during the windows 10 setup, then that was it.
  10. Thanks. I read that and about 100 others, all I could find on it lol. I did power down and unplug for like 2 hours (watched a movie). No changes. When I get more time I'm going to put 10 on a SSD and see what happens just for the hell of it.
  11. I updated per that link, and rebooted. I also changed use DB2S in front end to no and tried it. Black screen like before. When I use the 3060 I get the playfield only. Then I have to use rigorous detection display, then move the displayport plug to another outlet on the 3060 card. Then the 2nd screen comes up as 1024x768. The 3060ti card only has 1 HDMI and 3 displayport. Booting with just the displayport and no HDMI I get no screens. But, the boot screen and bios screen shows up on the backglass before boot. Then the backglass is blank at boot. log.txt
  12. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling as well as just running 1 screen. I get the same behavior no matter what. I'm wondering if it's related to my earlier taking black screenshots problem I was trying to fix (which was a problem before the upgrade). The 3060 will only work as the PF screen because my PF is HDMI. The BG screen being displayport won't work because of a Nvidia bug (from what I've read). That's why I'm running 2 cards.
  13. VP is finally stable with the settings I'm using. I used DDU when changing/trying drivers. In the Nvidia control panel both cards are using the same driver. That driver is signed so there's no conflicts. I'll unplug 1 screen and see what I get. Does Pinball X not support 2 cards?
  14. I just upgraded to the 3060 from the 1050, but I had a problem with unsigned drivers from Nvidia. Once I got around the unsigned drivers I couldn't get the displayport to work because of a NVidia bug. Nvidia made a tool to fix this, which I eventually got to run, which didn't help. So the only way to get 2 working screens was to run both cards.
  15. I originally had a problem with Pinball X taking blank screengrabs on the backglass, so I tried to upgrade to the latest version. Then I tried to revert to an older version after having this problem. Here's what happens when I open Pinball X. The intro music comes on, along with the intro picture. Once the menu/wheel should be coming up, my playfield and backglass are complete black. It's like it's working without displays or something. The program seems to work because I can exit Pinball X without seeing the screen, as I know the sequence. I am not having monitor issues and vp by itself is fine. I attached the Pindmd log because it said it was searching for a Pindmd and I don't have one. I also have it turned off in the wizard. I also attached a video of this behavior. 20240929_065721.mp4 NVIDIA System Information 09-28-2024 17-16-38.txt log.txt PinballX.ini pinDMD_log.txt
  16. LOL, I'm finally back where I started. I got my DMD working. Somehow I was missing the dmddevice64.dll. Not sure where that went since it was working before. So the only thing wrong now is the dmd not showing on screengrabs like in the first post. I'll live with it lol. Thanks guys, for all of your help.
  17. I just used the one you linked to and it seems the version you linked kills FlexDMD. In other words I don't have a working DMD. It's not a form to back issue, or behind anything, the DMD just doesn't come on. I'm going to post at vpf because it's a vp issue. I went all the way back to 10.8 Beta 4 without it working. Open a table (Bleach) in 10.72 and I have a dmd as normal.
  18. I don't think it was the GL. I think it was the normal 64 bit, but I don't know which revision because I have to name it PinballX.exe for my setup. If I rightclick/Properties it says 10.8.1. I'm still having DMD issues, but I now think that's the .exe also. I read somewhere about the new versions breaking flexdmd somewhere, but I don't know if it was ever fixed. The problem is authors seem to insist on using the latest- even if it's not ready. I don't want to have to upgrade everything just to run a new table.
  19. Ok I was finally able to download an older version. That's a weird way of doing it, I thought it was taking me to the newest version constantly. I was trying to figure out what step I was missing. After all this BS I finally nailed down the problem..... I tried changing the key- nothing. I tried getting the newest version, previous version- nothing. It turns out it was VP doing it! I tried another VP version and it finally gave me both screenshots. That'll teach me to upgrade lol! Thanks to Mike da Spike and Scutters!! Both of you guys are great and I know these things can be frustrating from the other end of things. 😎
  20. I tried changing the screengrab key with no success. I didn't think it would do anything but the table I tried looked like it paused when I hit "P". I figured it couldn't hurt to try it. Next I'm going to try uninstalling/reinstalling. I'll name my old Pinball X folder PinballX old (I have a backup anyway), and I'll find the registry key and copy that as well. I saw the PDF in my Pinball X folder but it only showed how to install/upgrade. Hopefully reinstalling will fix it. I have a very simple setup, I don't need all the bells and whistles. I mainly use it for the menu and media shots (I don't use videos).
  21. Can you please link me to the old versions? I'm in the threads, but I don't have a download button.
  22. I'll try that tonight. I know from previous experience that Pinball X won't overwrite existing media. If you already have a preview picture in there it'll just go to the screengrabs folder. I'm also going to try changing the screengrab key (currently P on the keyboard). I thought I saw the table behave weirdly when I hit it. I know P is pause in Mame, but I don't have Mame on this cab anymore. Although why that would be an issue now is a mystery. When I view older news threads I don't have a download button. I can't even tell you what version I upgraded from. I don't use a lot of the latest features. If I have my lists and screenshots, I'm happy (I don't do videos). I should have known better than to upgrade lol. After all, my 30 year old car still gets me to work every day. 🤣 (Although I think by you guys it's called an Escort MK2 Ultra).
  23. That was making me wonder too. I don't see anything in the log about a screengrab, but there it is. I tried again just now. Here's the latest. Target Practice 2 is the playfield scxreengrab. I had to rename because they can't both be the same name. I'm using 6.05. I'd like to try an older version to see if there's any difference, but I can't download anything in the threads as the threads are all locked for the older versions. log.txt
  24. Both. The screenshot displays as all black, and if I go to the folder and open it with Irfanview, it also displays all black.
  25. I'm not sure if I did something wrong. I downloaded the installer and installed it, 0.78 is the latest. I mirrored the above screen, and did a reboot. I did not do anything with the audio or the other one, I only configured the above screen and that's it. After my reboot I started Pinball X, loaded a table and took a screenshot. The backglass screen grab was fine, the playfield screen grab was all black. Log attached. Should I revert to an older version? log.txt
