    Greetings!

Greeting Lashek! I love the HyperList rom sets so a big thanks for creating those. I'm always keeping an eye to see if any new dats appear so I can convert all my sets.
  3. I've recently built a mini HTPC, I was reusing an old motherboard board and a spare GTX 460 so that kept my price down. The motherboard I had meant that I couldn't go for one of the newer i5 or i7s but I managed to grab the older 'i5 760' from overclockers.co.uk for £105 in one of the end of line sales (at the time the best price I had found elsewhere was £170). With the i5 760 and the GTX 460 I am playing most Wii and PS2 games full speed. There are exceptions though like Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 are just shy of full speed (though I still haven't tried the latest Dolphin build which is claimed to offer an extra 5% performance. I've also been playing modern PC games on this system with no problems. I find for emulators CPU is key but for PC games the GPU is more important. Something you should consider is the size of this system. Personally I wanted my new build to fit nicely below the TV. So I didn't want a full tower. For me the case had the following requirements: Room for a full height + full length GPU Room for 2 hard drives (SSD for OS and 3TB Sata for emulators + games) Powerful enough PSU to run a good GPU As small as possible It took a lot of looking but I found the perfect case https://www.overcloc...rodid=CA-151-SV Luckily my existing motherboard was a mini ITX so it fits perfect I'm really pleased with the build but ideally I would've like a newer i5 or i7 so I could max out Wii games
  4. good work, video shows the new feature of very nicely indeed
  5. For duplicate and missing entries try the following: Close Steam then rename ...\Steam\config\config.vdf to config.old Open Steam again and Steam will create a new config.vdf This previously fixed it for me when I was testing for Tom As for the missing artwork: Delete ...\GameEx\DATA\steamdata.ini and anything in the following directories ...\GameEx\MEDIA\STEAM\BOX ...\GameEx\MEDIA\STEAM\SNAP ...\GameEx\MEDIA\STEAM\VIDEO GameEx will then read you new vdf and start again, creating it's database and snaps
  6. Use the following code on GreenManGaming to get 25% off digital downloads GMG25-EVFWS-4Z4ZN It's valid for 1 week, not sure if it works for all their Steam games but I check 3 and it worked on them all
  7. I thrown something together, haven't tested it much (4 games) Set SteamLoadBlank.exe as a run before for Steam, in the GameEx Setup Wizard. What it does: Creates a blank, black overlay and displays it. Waits for Steams GameOverlayUI.exe to load then the script exits revealing your loaded game. I'm sure there will be issues though, I've test with a couple of games that use wrappers and they worked but I'm sure this will cause problems with some games. It will definitely cause problems with any game that doesn't use the GameOverlayUI.exe like 'Binding of Isac' I have built in a couple of fail safes: 1. The black screen will only stay for 30 seconds max 2. Press space bar to exit anytime If it proves successful we could probably build in a blacklist that would stop it running for problem games. SteamLoadBlank.zip
  8. This is very strange. For the script to still be running then it mustn't be detecting the Launcher windows. Can you check what the title is on each window? Also I think if you double click the script icon in the system tray it will show a log windows which will let us know what it is doing (might be right click instead of double click)
  9. If you don't have any/many games on Steam then wait to December, they do some great Christmas sales... I generally just give my December pay check to Valve You can also pick up some bargains at http://www.greenmangaming.com/ some of their games are Steam games but cheaper. You buy the code from them and activate it on Steam. e.g. Alien Vs Predator is £15 on Steam but can be had on GMG for £3.75
  10. I just checked again and both loaders are working fine for me. Can you check the "Last Run" batch file to see what ID is being launched by GameEx?
  11. I've uploaded 2 wrappers, not sure if these will download automatically or if Tom has to manually add them from the FTP 12140 - Max Payne 12150 - Max Payne 2 where did you get id 201330 for Max Payne? Mine is showing 12140 I couldn't get the hiding to work as the window would still appear then hide, so it's no better than the window appearing then clicking play and the window closes anyway I'll attach them here in case they don't get added to the installer automatically 12140 - Max Payne.rar 12150 - Max Payne 2.rar
  12. I have both of these games, though not installed, I'll install them and see if I can get something created in the next day or 2
  13. I don't see any way for a wrapper to fix this issue as it is a problem with the game. Take a look at the config.txt in Steam\steamapps\common\World of Goo\properties You can set the screen resolution so when you run in a window it will fill the screen. There are lots of posts online about this issue but it would seem it isn't going to get fixed anytime soon
  14. Ordered my AimTrac and DIY recoil kit today. I'll let you all know how I get on when it arrives next week
  15. added 44100 - Super Laser Racer
  16. thanks Tom
  17. I could've swore I tried 'steam' before but I just checked again and it's working now, thanks Tom
  18. Tom is it possible to have a custom layout for the Steam section? I'm not sue what the ini should be called?
  19. Added 71390 - Virtua Tennis 4
  20. thanks guys... definitely getting too old for this, I've a hangover that'd choke a donkey
  21. For me I'd definitely rather have the loading rather than not have the databases, The database are what I love most about GameEx and I agree to get the 'Other System' option the need to be loaded all at once, I just think this should happen as soon a GameEx is loaded maybe even on a background thread so it's not noticed. The progress bar would only appear if you tried to access an emulator before all the databases had finished loading.
  22. What annoys me most about this is that you load GameEx and it waits until you browse to an emulator before it loads all the databases. Quite often I turn my arcade on as I walk past to grab a drink, then come back to play something. It would be better if there was an option to load all these upfront at start up, that way by the time I come back to the arcade it will be all ready to play. I have found a solution, though it may well be a bug so I'm scared to mention it in case Tom fixes it In 'Enable/Disable Features' I turned on 'Quick Startup Resume', it's supposed to: "Upon restarting GameEx quickly resume to the last used menu and skip the intro animation and sound." I use custom menus and always exit via the main menu so 'Quick Resume' always opens on the main menu for me but the big advantage is that it loads all the databases on startup. This is much more desirable in my opinion but I can understand why other may not want to waste time loading the databases upfront as they may be using GameEx to play films or something else but maybe it could be added as an option
  23. thanks for the heads up. I'd never heard of DreamSpark before, downloading VS2012 at the moment
  24. I've successfully added Black Mesa to the GameEx Steam list. It's a bit of a cheat but will do the job until it's officially released. I've created a simple ahk script that launches Balck Mesa run steam://rungameid/13540830642081628378 I compiled this to an exe then added it to Steam as a 'Non Steam Game' That's it, GameEx will now see it. If your Black Mesa has the same AppID as mine 13540830642081628378 then you can just use the attached exe Black Mesa.zip
