  1. My mouse never appears when launching roms through Project64 though I'm running the latest 1.7 beta so maybe thats an added feature for donators? I can't remember it doing it before when I was using 1.6 though either but maybe it did
  2. I'm noticing the same with the press escape to create snap feature... I went through just over a 150 mega drive games the other night and played them till they were in game before pressing escape and then at the end I went to marvel a my work only to discover that around half the files were black
  3. I've been wanting to play this for a while now didn't even know it was coming out on the PC but I see it has appeared in "the usual places"
  4. actually it might not have worked completely as I've just noticed it didn't finish creating the shortcuts in the start menu like it usually does... is there an easy way for me to check if everything is up to date? when I run GameEx it doesn't tell me that an update is available but maybe only all the files up to PluginExit.ini have been updated and then it gave up because it couldn't overwrite that one?
  5. that worked a treat, many thanks ourgrace... auto update didn't even complain that it couldn't replace the file, it must be set to ignore automatically Stu
  6. I don't have either of those games but I usually just use Auto Hot Key to re-assign the controls and have the AHK file launched by a batch file before the game is ran
  7. This is great, I've been looking for a few more pc games to get going in my cab... Just tried Grid Wars 2 there... boy is that game nuts I'd forgot all about Mario Wars... finally a game my girlfried doesn't mind playing The only other games I've been playing that I don't see mentioned here are Devil May Cry 3 and Worms World Party (WWP takes a lot of messing about to get it working right with a joystick as you need to use a mouse to select weapons but it works pretty good now) I also tried You Don't Know Jack 6, it works ok but alot of the questions require you to type the answer with a keyboard which is no good maybe some of the older versions didn't have these types of questions I tried Luxor 2 but it requires 800x600 and my Polo Star on does 640x480 max which also meant NHL 97 wouldn't work because even though in game can be set to 640x480 the menu screens always run at 800x600
  8. yeah it so handy updating when your registered, GameEx just pops up a wee box on the main screen letting you know a new version is out and I just hit select on my cab and it takes care of everything for me my only niggle is that I have to reselect my custom exit keys in the 'Exit GameEx" plugin everytime but thats nothing major
  9. After GoodMerging all my rom sets all my box scans and snaps didn't match the games as they had () and what not after the game names I didn't like using the option in GameEx to find a close match as it seemed to be trying to match some games and picking the wrong image even though the correctly named image was in the directory, mario and mario kart where the first I'd noticed this happening I searched for a tool to rename all the files and remove bracketed text but I couldn't find 1 so I decided to create 1 myself and I thought some of you might also find it useful... It requires .net 2.0 but that shouldn't be a problem as GameEx uses it too I've been using this for a month now without any problems but if you choose to use it and it messes your pc up then thats your problem Basically a file called "Mario Bros. (U) [T+Chi_MS emumax]" will become "Mario Bros." If "Overwrite Existing Files" is checked then say you have for example in the NES rom set you have 4 files called: "Mickey Mouse (J) [f1]" "Mickey Mouse (J) [f2]" "Mickey Mouse (J) [p1]" "Mickey Mouse (J)" then you will be left with just 1 file called "Mickey Mouse" the image will be whichever file is last aplhabetically, this shouldn't be a problem as generally the images for each version should be the same A batch file called !undorename.bat is created in the input directory so you should be able to reverse the changes though this won't bring back any files that have bee replaced so I recommend making a backup of your directory Click on Stu2007 on the bottom right for more info Let me know what you think FileRenamer.zip
  10. thanks for the guide, do you know if it's possible to force WnAPE to run at lower resolutions? I'm trying to run it on a Hantarex PoloStar arcaded monitor which doesn't display higher than 640x480 so when I try to make WinAPE go fullscreen I get a garbage picture... seems strange that it runs at 800x600 as I'm sure the original CPC ran nowhere near that high thanks again
  11. deleting gamelist.INI and updating didn't do anything but deleting gameslist.TXT cleared the favourites for me... now I just have to find what I had before I messed it up
  12. how would I go about removing all my favorites? I told gameex the wrong ini for my favorites and now I have almost 2000 favorites, I've tried telling it a different file with less but its not changing Thanks Stu
  13. I'm going to start creating videos for all my roms and I was wondering what format and bitrate I'd be best to use? is there any format GameEx displays faster than others? any other settings I should watch out for? Will I get better results recording them uncompressed and then re-encoding them later with TMPG Encode or something? Thanks
  14. I'd like to second the 7zip support integrated via the DLL method if it wasn't too much hassle cause some of them games take ages to extract
  15. That's no good in a mame cabinet with no keyboard access... I know there is the page key that I could assign to a button but I just thought this would be an easy feature to add
  16. Is there a quick and easy way to reorder emulators... eg. the default in GameEx is Emulator 1 N64, Emulator 2 SNES then Pinball followed by NES can I re order them so that NES is above Pinballor preferably the list would go NES, SNES, N64... It's not a big deal but I was just wondering if its possible Thanks
  17. Just wondering what extra command line options you'se use for standard MAME (not 32) trying to get things looking as accurate as possible Thanks
  18. Here's my small request... I'd like to be able to jump straight to the bottom of any list by pressing UP when at the top of a list... so that say for example the game you want starts with W, when you go into the rom list you'll be at the top of A so you just press UP to jump to the bottom of Z and start scrolling up through Z then Y, X and then you'll be at W rather than having to go down through the whole alphabet Thanks for all your hard work
  19. thanks for the super quick reply paging is definately alot faster though I don't know how I'd incorporate it into my cab when I finally get round to it
  20. Just found GameEx today and I think its going to be the perfect solution for the arcade cambinet I'm in the process of trying to build... I was just wondering is there any setting that would allow it so that if you were at the top of the roms list and you press up the list would jump to the bottom... it would save alot of time if you know the game your looking for is at the end of the alphabet, or am I just being lazy Sorry if it's been discussed before but I tried the search and it doesn't like 'up' because it's less than 4 letters also is there a working torrent for the mame videos? the link on the main site doesn't seem to be working Thanks for you time
