  1. Just reading on the BYOAC forum and it seems some people are using 36v 3a without any problems, these are pretty cheap on eBay so I'll pick one up and see how it goes. Previously I had been looking for 36v 5a but these are few and far between and cost over £100
  2. What power supply are you using for your AimTrack Recoil? I've never found one strong enough to provide full power to the solenoid. I had been using a 20 volt but then found a 24 volt and the difference was impressive, would really like to find one closer to the 36 volt maximum supported.
  3. A nice clean skin, looking forward to giving this a try
  4. With the help of Adultery's plugin I have found the problem, it's definitely a bug for Tom to sort. I keep my Saturn roms inE:\Sega Saturn\Roms\EUROand E:\Sega Saturn\Roms\USAI have my rom path set in GameEx E:\Sega Saturn\Roms but also set to scan sub folders, it sees all my games no problem. When I try to launch a game say Area 51 which is in the USA folder I can see from Adultery's log that it has actually tried to mount from the ROMS folder rather than the USA subfolderE:\Sega Saturn\Roms\Area 51 (USA).cueinstead of E:\Sega Saturn\Roms\USA\Area 51 (USA).cueTo confirm I have now set my rom path to E:\Sega Saturn\Roms\USA and GameEx has no trouble mounting the files. Also to confirm that the command line for SSF is definitelySSF.exe [-VIRTUALDRIVE-]Using SSF.exe [VIRTUALDRIVE]:\causes the emu to load then crash, SSF doesn't expect any extra arguments to be passed
  5. Hi Adultery, thanks for this plugin it has helped me debug my issue with GameEx failing to see my virtual drive. I have a suggestion and a possible bug. I didn't find the plugin the easiest to work out. From your initial post I thought that I replace the command in Setup Wizzard with [DTLOADER] then add my own command to your plugin config. This is where I think there is a bug. When you type something in your mount command and click save, nothing is saved. Turns out that it doesn't work this way anyway so it's not an issue but maybe you could update the plugin config screen to show an example of how to use the plugin. I'm sure people that don't visit the forum could be trying to use your plugin but have no idea where to start so just give up. Also maybe you could let Tom know that version 1.07 is available as it is still 1.06 that is bundled with GameEx and it doesn't work at all. Anyway thanks for this really handy plugin Stu
  6. Thanks for the share, downloading as I type!
  7. Mark of the Ninja is fantastic. Trine 1 was great but for some reason Trine 2 didn't grab me the same. I must check out Dust Force it's been on my wishlist for a long time now. Super Meat Boy Great plat former but boy is it hard as nails.
  8. Cheers, I'll give both these suggestions a go after work
  9. If you haven't done so already add a couple of flipper buttons to the side of the cabinet that way you can come back to it at a later date. I regretted not adding the extra buttons to my 1st control panel. I added them to my second and I only use Future Pinball now. They are all a pain to set up but for me FP seemed the easiest plus I think it looks the most impressive when other people are around playing my cab Some day I'll build a pinball cabinet with 2 lcds but I've plenty of other things on my todo list first
  10. Hey everyone, after moving house I finally got around to unpacking my cabinet. I thought I would give it a good test run before everyone is around for my birthday this weekend. I updated to the latest version but now GameEx fails to mount with my Daemon Tools. The log says: 00:37:48.5 19/09/2013: Mounting: E:\Sega Saturn\Roms\Alien Trilogy.mds00:37:48.5 19/09/2013: Mounting: E:\Sega Saturn\Roms\Alien Trilogy.mds00:38:25.3 19/09/2013: Unable to mount ISO. Did you install ISO Support when installing GameEx?When GameEx first added support for Daemon Tools I had trouble but I got it sorted with Tom's help. I've checked and my drive still has vendor ID 'DTSOFT' When I click the game a loading screen appears for about a minute before returning to GameEX as if something is timing out. I tried updating to the latest Daemon Tools Lite 4.47 Not sure what else to try the command I'm running for SSF is SSF.exe [-VIRTUALDRIVE-]I've attached my full log I only use Daemon Tools for SSF so I'm sure I could setup a batch file again. Thanks Stu log.txt
  11. nice work guys, really wish I had more spare time to get involved in all this database action
  12. Sadly I lost the source code for this plugin a couple of years ago so won't be able to update it I swore I had a copy on my work PC but its nowhere to be found either. Sorry
  13. Did you update your game list in GameEx after replacing the catver file? GameEx builds all this info while it's scanning your rom directory
  14. Got myself a Nikon D5200, its my first DSLR, giving how Northern Ireland isn't renowned for its stunning weather I though I would make the most of the rain an take some snaps indoors. The originals are 24mp so a little too large to upload here.
  15. Or what about long cable that you can unplug when your finished, for a few pounds it'll save the hassle of moving the cabinet/pc until you get wireless http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Network-Cable-RJ45-Lead-Ethernet-Cat5-Patch-25cm-1m-2m-3m-5m-10m-15m-20m-30m-50m-/251007513382?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item3a7136b326
  16. Loco Roco is the only game I've been interested in emulating as well, haven't tried JPCSP recently. Last time Loco Roco was just about playable but the character was a square instead of a circle made it hard to roll about in places
  17. Best not to alter the default wrappers as when these are updated with each release of GameEx your customization's may be overwritten. There is however a WRAPPERS2 folder in the \GameEx\MEDIA\STEAM folder fell free to add your own exe or batch file in here and GameEx will launch it along with the game. Just call the exe the same as the steamid for the game. Easiest way to find out the id is to right click the game in Steam and choose create desktop shortcut, check the properties for the shortcut and it will point to something like steam://rungameid/50620 50620 is the id for Darksiders
  18. I had a quick go at setting this up when I received my AirTrak. After seeing it wasn't going to be straight forward I added it to my todo list but never got around to looking at it again. Keep this thread updated with your progress as I'll definitely be wanting to make use of it.
  19. Well done KRC thanks for all your great work
  20. Congrats Han, I was surprised to see this post, not because you don't deserve it but because I assumed you already were Elite
  21. nice, this is definitely on my todo list, there is an old 24" 4:3 lcd at my office that hasn't been used for a couple of years that I have my eye on. Is there a good place to get some info on rotating mounts, is there a common mount that people use or are they all home made? I've seen a few monitor desk stands that are VESA mount and allow you to rotate between portrait and landscape, they are all manual though.
  22. there should be no issue using the accelerator pedal to select and even brake to go back a menu, the g25 also has a couple of extra buttons on the wheel and flappy panel gears behind the wheel so any number of options for navigation, I would imagine that as the wheel is a controller you would just be able to turn it left or right to select, though my wheel is currently packed away so can't test. as u-man said, you'll never build the perfect setup, best to concentrate on playing your favorite games as best as possible. For me thats the more modern arcade racers Sega Rally, Daytona etc and the g25 is perfect for that. Mainly though I play stand alone PC racing games with it like Sega Rally Revo, Dirt, Shift and F1, for these it is fantastic as you then have force feedback too
  23. I think it'll all depend on what type of steering wheel you use. Some work as a mouse and some as a gamepad. I vaguely remember Tempest and bkenobi working on a script for mouse style wheels and GameEx can already accept input from joysticks so you should be able to use either, though a gamepad style would be easiest to setup. I have a Logitech G25 wheel, got it for about £180 a few years ago, it's fantastic but the G27 can now be had for that kinda money, you may be able to find an old G25 cheap somewhere. I just wish I had the room to keep it permanently attached to my desk. Someday I'm going to use a frame like this to build a racing arcade.
  24. Happy birthday!
  25. holy crap i've been keeping a close eye on the sales but in the UK the best Sleeping Dogs dropped was 66% I'm tempted to get the whole THq collection, its down to 20 quid at the minute, I already have most of the best games in the collection though
