  1. That's the most up to date database there is, if you want to add more games to it feel free. I've no interest in going back to all those databases at the moment after all the time I spent on it last year. If you do add some games share it with the rest of us please. Stu

    Joysticks

For ages I was running Electric Ice buttons on my control panel but just using to standard non opaque Player1 and Player2 buttons because you can't buy Electric Ice buttons with the wee men on them. Just over a month ago I bought set of "Ultralux Logo Inserts" from Ultimarc and used epoxy to stick them on top of 2 spare Electric Ice buttons and they are looking great, so now all my buttons light up properly. I wasn't sure at the time how well they'd fit and if sticking them on the outside of the button would look crap but they look perfect and anyone looking at it would just assume they came like that. Joysticks

I use the Mag-Stik 4/8 Plus too they're a great job, it's so handy being able to flick back to 4 way for the old games like donkey kong and pac man as some of them get confused if you use an 8 way joystick and accidentally press a diagonal, you character just freezes on the spot. Stu
  4. I don't have a tool to do that, it wouldn't be hard to make but it's just finding the time... I think the databases will get overwritten so if your going to modify any of them you should make a copy of it and call it slightly different and tell your emulator config to use your database rather than the original. Stu
  5. Give my tool a go here Stu
  6. I just looked at our database's and the '[Console] Sony Playstation' mdb has 1281 entries while the '[Console] Sony PlayStation 2' mdb has 1458 entries though I'm sure neither if these are complete, there were a good lot of the early games still only CD size even though they were on DVD but as bkenobi said most were DVD so the complete set would be huge. I know the PSX games compressed down well to like 300mb a disc but even if you were to get the same compression ratio on DVDs, I'd say your still talking well over the 3.5TB mark for 1500 games and I doubt if they'd compress as well as the PSX games so you could be easily doubling that figure, it's just too hard to tell. Stu
  7. I've been thinking of the wireless xbox 360 wheel myself, have you read much about it Tempest? Stu
  8. I think it's sound issues are the problem with Point Blank, I used to play it all the time with my LCD Topgun until the gun stopped working one day, haven't got round to trying it on my new system though Stu
  9. Yeah I noticed the double post earlier, I wonder does it let him keep his post tally when he double posts then removes 1 Stu

    pj64 config

I'm running PJ64 1.7 and the only difference in my config and yours is my rom path is in quotes as frequency suggested Command=Project64.exe "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" and my config file is set to: configFile=Project 64 V2 and I've no map file selected Mine is working perfectly fine, I've never had any trouble with it Stu
  11. When we were creating the new databases we decided to add the moby ranking in the hope that some day Tom would add it as a filter option but at the time he said he had no interest. Off coarse everyone is going to have there own opinion on what the best games are but I agree with benjam47 that the moby rankings are a good place to start for the casual gamer, looking at their top ranking games across all formats and you can't really go too far wrong picking any of these games: 1st Grand Theft Auto IV PlayStation 3 98 2nd The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Nintendo 64 97 2nd SoulCalibur Dreamcast 97 2nd Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Genesis 97 2nd The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess GameCube 97 2nd Super Mario Galaxy Wii 97 7th Samurai Shodown II Neo Geo 96 7th The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages Game Boy Color 96 7th NiGHTS into Dreams... Saturn 96 7th Metroid Prime GameCube 96 11th Cannon Fodder Amiga 95 11th Unreal Tournament Windows 95 11th Final Fantasy VII PlayStation 95 11th FIFA International Soccer 3DO 95 11th Gran Turismo PlayStation 95 11th Perfect Dark Nintendo 64 95 11th Chrono Trigger SNES 95 11th Tekken 2 PlayStation 95 11th Grand Theft Auto III PlayStation 2 95 11th Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty PlayStation 2 95 11th Halo: Combat Evolved Xbox 95 11th NFL 2K1 Dreamcast 95 11th Super Mario World SNES 95 11th Super Mario Bros. NES 95 11th Super Mario Bros. 3 NES 95 Sure some people won't like fighting games and some people won't like sports games or whatever but on the broad spectrum it's not a bad list. Stu
  12. Sorry I don't use it for emulators I have an arcade cabinet for them, I use it on my other PC for racing games and what not, if I get a chance I'll try it out on a few emulators over the weekend Stu
  13. I have the wireless controller and the guide button simply brings up a wee on screen display that shows the battery status Stu
  14. What about the Arcade Ambience Project Stu
  15. It would seem the create snap when pressing escape mode is broken too, just went through 10 Master System games and 3 of them took the snap properly when I pressed escape, 5 of them took a black screen and2 of them managed to snap a shot of my taskbar, I get them feeling it's taking the snap slightly too late Could you not have a create snap button that would take the screenshot wait a second and then send the escape key Stu
  16. Actually I've just confirmed that GameEx is definitely not mounting the disc... I shared my virtual drive over the network and if I'm playing a game normally I can see the files on the shared drive across the network but if I go into create snaps mode I can not access the shared drive. Stu
  17. I'm having similar problems here... I get the felling GameEx is not running the game the same way as it does if you select the game to play... For me if I select a Saturn game to play everything works fine but if I choose create snaps I just get a black screen this is also the same with the Dreamcast, if I select a game to play it works grand but if I create snaps I just get the Dreamcast bioa screen as if the create snaps mode is not mounting the disc... for both these systems I'm using Daemon Tools in the Launch Before and After to mount the disc image so is it possible that GameEx is skipping this when in Create Snaps mode? Stu
  18. I'm running VB2008 in work, haven't really noticed anything different, definitly nothing as big as when I went from VB6 to 2005 I do like the way 2008 starts predicting sooner than 2005 though but that's the only thing I've noticed. Also, everything I've wrote in 2008 has still worked perfectly on any machines that we have with just .NET 2.0 framework installed so there's been no need to run around mass installing .NET 3 everywhere. Stu
  19. I haven't had any blue screens with Vista yet (touch wood) but the thing that has annoyed me the most with Vista was getting my networked all shared again properly... oh and that bloody UAC but I've got it removed now thankfully Stu

    Theme help

    3 get's my vote Stu
  21. Try setting that to "Don't Use Bezel" it's referring to the GameEx Bezel not the actual games bezel My bezels are kinda working in the latest GameEx, they work if I set MAME to use D3D but I need to run MAME in DDRAW mode as I have an ArcadeVGA and there seems to be some sort of bug in MAME that doesn't allow this to work properly Stu
  22. There's an option to have GameEx use it's own bezel rather than the actual games bezels, I think it's in the Advanced MAME Settings Stu
  23. That's very odd indeed until I upgrade there last week I was running an Ipac on a 3500+ with Tripplebuffering turned on without any trouble Stu
  24. I'd do it in my MAME.INI file in the root of my MAME directory then for each individual game you will need to make an INI folder and create a ROMNAME.INI file (eg. DKONG.INI for Donkey Kong) which will contain any settings which MAME will know to use instead of what's in the MAME.INI Stu
  25. changing crop artwork to 0 didn't work at first but then I changed the aspect ratio in game and the bezel appeared but it's no good unless it's cropped as I don't want to loose part of my playing screen, I only want it to fill in the gaps at the side as it does in d3d mode, I'm assuming this must be a bug with ddraw and cropping artwork, would someone like to confirm it for me? Just run dkong with artwork cropped turn on and video set to D#D then try it again with video set to DDRAW and see if you loose artwork down the side Stu
