  1. This issues was resolved with today's hotfix. Woo Hoo!!!
  2. This tested ok for me. Thanks Tom.
  3. Wow...I mean, wow. Very sad news.
  4. Mame0139b_32bit is attached. I pulled it from http://mamedev.org/oldrel.html just now, but it was one of the version I tested from the thread before. If you want me to retest it again before you take a look, I am willing to do so. Thanks. mame0139b.exe
  5. @Tom Speirs This sounds similar to a post I threw out a while back when trying to use GameEx with Mame 0.139. In that thread Frequency commented that there had been an XML change for the listinfo.dat file at some point and I thought that perhaps GameEx might be only checking for the new tag (that assumes I have any real knowledge of GameEx's inner workings, which of course, not so much...). You had said that you would try to look into it when you had time. I kind of set that project aside for awhile and forgot about it. I bet you may have too.
  6. Anyone have a suggestion on a low cost or free remote access solution that is also relatively easy to use for non-techie people? I was using Teamviewer, but over the last few days 'connection issues' have brought me to the conclusion that they may be limiting the number of connections for their free version. I provide tech support for familiy members as well as my father's business (all have multiple PCs on their lan). My father also uses Teamviewer to access files and programs between several of his business PCs (yeah, a license should probably be purchased for this). I am looking for an option for unattended servers as well as a relatively easy interface for them. The ability to share control for 'training' and troubleshooting is necessary. File transfer and text chat is a bonus, but not a must. In total, I would guess there is 5 client PCs. I would be doing the technical setup for them as well as maintaining the setup over time. Free is really nice, but paying software charge is ok. I would rather not be tied to a license. Anyway, if anyone has experience with a low-cost solution that they have found usable, I would appreciate any advice.
  7. Ok...so...I thought you were creating and using your own map files. I see now that this is not the case. These are actually GameEx generated files. At this point, I am assuming GameEx is showing multiple titles because some games utilize multiple files. For example, Black Crypt has these four files: Black Crypt (Disk1).zip "Black Crypt" Black Crypt (Disk2).zip "Black Crypt" Black Crypt (Disk3).zip "Black Crypt" Black Crypt (Disk4).zip "Black Crypt" ...so it assumes it is four different games when it generates the mapfile with four entries. This is fixable, but to be honest I am not sure if my suggestion will be the best way to go. I looked over the Setup Wizard and the forum and I did not note any parameters within the Setup Wizard that would automatically remedy this. I have so few games that utilize multiple disk files that it has not really been an issue for me. I think the quickest fix is to create your own mapfile for amiga: Regenerate the EMU_12.map file by deleting it; copy the contents of the new EMU_12.map to a new file, amiga.map perhaps; edit amiga.map to keep single file entries or those entries with 'Disk1' in the name; save the amiga.map file somewhere in your amiga emulator directory; then enter the path to the map file to the Map or SW List File parameter in the Advanced Emulator Setup section for the Amiga emulator. GameEx will use this map file instead of the one it generates. You only have a small list of games, so creating your own map file should not take much time. Of course, this also means that if you add any additonal games in the future, you would need to add an entry to the amiga.map file.
  8. Hey shroud, It is probably something to do with the formatting of the map file for this emulator. Could you please post it?
  9. Great. Thanks!!!
  10. Retested after the quickfix update. The emulators and log.txt files are working properly for me again. @175650 Would you please go through the auto-update to apply the quickfix and let us know if everything is good for you as well?
  11. There does appear to be a bug here. I am seeing it as well. When an emulator game is launched, the runitgame.bat is not being generated for the game. Instead, mine is always dated 10/21/2014 and has the following: Also, the log.txt file is not recording that an emulator game was executed. It is if nothing happened. Here are my files in case they help. I attempted to run 1942 with nestopia. I run GameEx in a window, so all that happened is that GameEx went black and no emulator was launched. When I hit ESC, the emulator closed. In looking at the runitgame.bat, it makes sense. Some of the parameters being used there are unrelated to my setup. log.txt GameEx.ini runitgame.bat
  12. Cool. I will check the Karaoke out again.
  13. Not sure...he said 'simple'. It doesn't get any simpler than using the Windows Startup folder.
  14. I do not believe the Setup Wizard has an option to start GameEx on boot, but it is easy to add to Windows. Just go to Start > All Programs > Startup and place a shortcut to GameEx there. Do check the manual for your TV to see what the proper way is to use it with a computer. I have read that not all HDMI ports on TVs work well with PCs. You do not want to damage your TV or PC.
  15. I am happy to say that I got word from my neighbors last night that our area did very well and everyone is ok. Power was out for maybe 12 hours. @Draco1962 Except for the lack of power, did everything else work out ok. No significant damage I hope?
  16. Unfortunately my place is in Tampa. We left the area already, but have no idea what to expect. I am also concerned for our neighbors who decided to stay behind. Hope for the best I guess.
  17. You young whipper-snappers got no respect these days for us elders...why back in my day...something about potatoes and liking it that way...oh, I'm too old to remember.... Sadly, I won't be of much help for at least a few weeks. I am away from home without emus and assets. I wish you luck though.
  18. If you would like to change the audio that plays when the program starts, take a look at the sound files in the GameEx Arcade Edition\THEMES\Default - Default folder. However, you may not find what you are looking for there since there are no annoying sounds in GameEx....
  19. Happy B-day dude!
  20. Happy Happy Birthday!!!
  21. There is very little you can do with changing Theme settings for GameEx Arcade. It is designed to have many of the settings you would find in the standard GameEx decided for you. While that makes certain aspects of the setup much easier, it also means you do not have as much flexibility. There is a minor-hacky solution for it though. Find the GameEx\Themes\Default - Default folder. In it you will find a bak.mp4 file. This is the video used for the background. If you rename it to something else, GameEx Arcade will isntead use the bak.png file in the same folder as the background. Besides giving you a bit more pep in GUI, you can also change out the bak.png for a different image if you like. Now, I have not fully explored this myself, so there may be some other unexpected adjustments that will need to be made (but I can't think of anything offhand). The other solution is to spend some time with the standard GameEx so you can get exactly what you want and then transition over to it instead.

    Mame .LAY

I looked into .lay files at one point thinking they would be something relatively simple and found that they were not. I didn't want to invest the time, so I let it go. If you have found some resources that make the process easier, it would certainly be nice to hear about them.

    HideOS.exe

I normally have Hide Desktop disabled as it makes testing easier. HideOS does not launch when I start GameEx. This is what I would expect. I wonder why it is doing so for you. Maybe check your GameEx.ini to see if the HIDEDESKTOP parameter somehow appears twice.
  24. How did you go about upgrading your romset from 0.179 to 0.188? Perhaps something happened there.
  25. It works with quotes, ie: Project64.exe "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]". That is the way I have mine set up.
