  1. @Tom Speirsis the real Pinballx wizard. We just try to keep up while he’s out there casting the actual spells. 😜 And slightly off‑topic: back in the late ’90s, people called themselves Windows experts just because they managed to install Windows 95. By that standard, sure, I can “do PinballX” too. But the real magic still comes from Tom..

  2. You're welcome although I will defer to @Mike_da_Spikeand @scutters as they are the true PinballXperts here!

  3. O.M.G.!!! Mystery solved! Scutters, you know, in all those past years it somehow never occurred to me that "Launch" and "Start" are actually two different commands! Even more important here is the fact that I was always under the impression that all these "1980s Tables" etc. filters would appear below the ""Return, Exit, Shutdown, Restart" menu... Pressing "Enter" on the keyboard / newly assigned cab button of course brings up those menu selections where I also can introduce new filters via the Game Manager's "New List" procedure. The solution was right in front of my nose the whole time... So thank you one last time for clearing up that "mystery", and now it's back to hitting the silver ball. Have a great day and keep up the good work!

  4. @Almodo can you also let us know what button (number) or key (if keyboard) you use when selecting a table? (just to check in Pinballx key/buttons mappings that it's mapped to Select and not Launch [launch would bypass the select menu]) You then also need to create 'active filters' as you wish, by years or manufacturer etc. It doesn't look like you have any created. Previous post on that here; https://forums.gameex.com/forums/topic/26442-resolved-search-for-instructions-on-how-to-create-filters-in-the-game-manager-eg-by-year-or-table-manufacturer/ Hope that helps, but let us know if you need more info.

  5. Sorry for my typos. According to your ini fileithe settings are not set Thats completely the opposite of your screenshot, but pinballX is using the ini file. Maybe you didn't save the file correctly, or it is read only?

This is the Visual Pinball installer downloaded as part of the PinballX setup. It is based on the official installer at http://www.vpforums.org by Toxie. It is mainly included here for consistency but at time of writing offers the following enhancements: - Avoids potential Bing toolbar install - Includes .net framework 4 and 4.5 for if required by Windows. (Required by B2S). - Checks for .net framework 2/3.5 and downloads and installs. (Required by XDMD). - Creates start menu items for the other versions of Visual Pinball and also Visual PinMAME. - By default does not install to program files which fixes PinMAME write access. - Signed by the usual Spesoft code certificate.
