Hello! I'm having a bit of trouble trying to remap some keys using the mapping feature in the Advanced Config Editor. Currently, I have a black pushbutton that I use for MAME and a couple of emulators as a "kill switch" - to exit out of the emulator and return to GameEx. This pushbutton has been configured as "S" in the iPac. What I am trying to do is to remap the "Escape" button to "S" in the advanced config editor for the emulators that I am not able to configure to exit upon "S" in the configuration of the emulator itself. After I attempted to do this, what happens is I am unable to exit the game when pressing the "kill button", "S", or "Escape" - I would have to Ctrl Alt Delete it and end the process via task manager. Is it possible to remap the Escape button to another button by using this feature? If so, how can it be set up? Thanks! LC

I know I'm a little late lol - but thanks Tom and Adultery!! Great work!!

Will Ferrell's the shiz-net! lol...I almost fell over when I seen this for the first time (off the video "Make Some Noise" by Beastie Boys)

I would do all the above stated, but with more cowbell (lol, j/k...saturday night live joke ) I'm between wanting the powers of invisibility, or being a half duck/half pirate/half vampire...hard choice...maybe I'll be both lol

Nice work KRC!! They look great!! -
HAHAHA! F@#king epic!! ....if that would have happened 10 years later, his whole face would have probably went up due to the amount of plastic

Lol, thanks! I'm still a biggener to all this, but hopefully as time and practice progresses, I'll be able to contribute bigger and better things lol.... Plus, after watching the 1980s music videos, it makes me wanna put on the Jerry Curl and join The Breakfast Club

Added...1980s music videos Its starts with an Italian commercial, but then goes into the music after that...Enjoy!! 1980videos.rar

Cool! Thanks for the info Adultery ...I zipped it up to .rar and will be attaching it to the origional message. I'm also planning on making 1980s, etc and will also attach those here . Enjoy!

Hello to all! This might be a very small contributation (so far), but I hope that some of you will think that it's as cool as I think it is I added this to my cab last night - It's an .asx file I created which opens Windows Media Player and starts streaming music videos from the 1990s 24 hours a day/7 days a week (big thanks to www.rocktelevision.com! ) If you would like the file, please send me an IM and I will send it to ya (won't let me attach it here). Just download the .asx file, create an .lnk shortcut and set it up in the Emulator Setup section of the Setup Wizard (Don't forget to get GameEx to "listen" to WIndows Media Player in the Advance Config ) and relive the 1990s - so put on your snap braclets and wind breaker pants while you dance arcoss your living room like Vanilla Ice! lol 1990videos.rar

@ Adultery - I found out what was going on with the videos not playing (not the startup video I'm afraid of - I'm starting to think that its something to do with the video itself, which I'm going to test with another video soon) I updated the Shark007 codecs, and used the recommended settings, and now the videos in multimedia play well
-
Hi Tom, finally got off work, recreated the problem, and will attach the config and log files to this message. I am using Shark007 codecs under recommended settings. I have a 32 bit Windows 7 system. Hope all of this helps Lol, I know what ya mean Adultery - I work as a Surveillance Supervisor/Investigator and when I took the promotion from agent, I had no idea that even though they gave me more money, I would have to work more hours...kinda comes with the territory I guess GameEx.ini log.txt

Ahh cool! and thanks! Sorry to hear about being at work - I can relate, I'm stuck here at work pulling at least a 10 hour shift...salary ughhh lol
-
Ahhhh! That's pretty cool - I wanna do that (I've got an extra LCD monitor ), lol, but I gotta agree with one of the drawbacks about the projection - if you weren't at the right angle, kinda hard to see. Thanks for the link . Back to the video issue - do you have a startup video, and if so, does it do the same as mine? (just trying to see if it's related lol)
-
Was the old issue a bug in GameEx? Same here when it comes to the previews and video snaps of games - they play fine ...its just the full videos and what seems to be the Startup video (if it falls in the same issue). Speaking of videos and [display] - lol, I just noticed that there were pics and vids of mame cabs that used LED or LCD displays as the marquee....makes me wonder how they do that
-
Yes it does ...it plays fine. When I use Windows Media Player through GameEx to play the videos though, it shows the same results with the black screen, etc.

I could never get any of the .avi movies I have in my collection to play under Multimedia (lol, I thought that it was maybe the way I ripped them from my DVD collection, or a codec issue, so I never really worried about the movies after the cpu was moved to the arcade cab). When I tried to get the videos to play, it would transistion to a black screen and stay there until I exit and return to GameEx. Then I would have to exit and restart GameEx because the Jukebox would not start up again. The last time I tried to play a video was when I was troubleshooting the Startup Video issue...and it did the same thing - just transistioned to a black screen and stopped the Jukebox when returning to GameEx.

Hello! A few days ago, I added a startup video that I downloaded from EmuMovies (Which the video was pretty awesome lol - its the one that starts out with Pong, then goes to Pitfall, then Mario, Sonic, etc...) Anyway, after directing GameEx to the "intro" folder I created for the Startup Video Directory in the Setup Wizard, when I start GameEx, its been "hit or miss" when loading. What I mean by this is that, it seems like GameEx tries to load at the same time the video is running - there will be flashes of the GameEx Homescreen and will suddenly freeze on either the video or homescreen, leaving the audio playing. When the audio from the video finishes, GameEx will close and an error box will load, saying that there was a problem with DirectX. This doesn't happen all the time, just sometimes - about once every 5 to 10 times or so. I am away from my cab right now, but as soon as I get home, I'll try to recreate the problem, and post the log and config files if needed. What I am wondering for now is, has anyone had the same problem? ...and if so, how did they fix it? My video card and drivers are all up to date, and I done everything that the error suggested to do, but with no progress. Thanks in advance for all of your help! LC

Thanks! ...I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to resend it to you. There was an error about the aspect ratio and it seemed like it wouldn't take it - but I quickly corrected it and I'm attaching the new one to this message. Thanks again, and I apologize for any trouble -

Hello! I've made myself a pretty cool looking banner, but was wondering how you upload to display... It looks like the "Signature" section is involved, but not 100% - I've never done much on any type of forums besides here. Thanks in advance! LC

Lol, not really sure - I was too busy doing "The Robot" while listening to "The Saftey Dance" when driving - someone ran a greenlight and almost let me clip them in the front end while I was doing eighty... ...crazy kids these days
