  1. what version of windows are you using?
  2. I've recorded a small video of the error for better clarification - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdN5ndR5lsY
  3. Thanks for the response Draco I haven't compiled my own version of mame - I mainly use the Mame32 v103. I've made a little more progress in the past few minutes. I'm starting to think that this is some weird issue between instant sheller and the new version of GameEx that just came out yesterday. The reason why, is (and please don't open the lynching mob just yet lol), on my cab, I use two front ends. My main one is GameEx, and when the kids want to play, I have GameEx able to launch Hyperspin, mainly because it's pretty friendly for a 6 year old. I have both front ends looking at the same games, emulators...the only differencs is that GameEx has my full collection, and Hyperspin only has smaller selection. Anyway, I tried out using instant sheller on Hyperspin a few minutes ago, and it appears that everything worked fine with the cpwizard coming up. It seems like it only happens when I shell GameEx. With that being said, this issue started yesterday...so what I'm thinking is that there maybe some strange bug or issue that occurs when GameEx is shelled. And it only occurs in some games, I'm not sure of the exact count lol, but Ms Pacman and Gunsmoke are included in the list. Thanks again! , and I hope to hear something soon. LC
  4. So far, I've uninstalled and reinstalled a fresh copy of instant sheller and cpwizard, and nothing really helps - The only progress I've made was that I noticed that it only does it on some games....ms. pacman, gunsmoke, and mortal combat to just name a few. There are some though, that it doesnt effect - two of them are 1943 and Killer Instinct. And again, when I open GameEx normally through windows, everything works fine (as far as showing the Control Panel - Its only when I use Instant Sheller, that this error occurs...which will still show the Control Panel, but only after the error box pops up for HiToText... Please pardon my language, but I'm about to pull the rest of my f@#king hair out lol Any help will be greatly appriciated on this matter! Attached is a copy of the config settings of CPWizard just in case... LC CPWizard.ini
  5. Hello! All the new radio stations should be already available in the Radio section in GameEx, as long as the "radio" is enabled in the Setup Wizard. It's a pretty sweet thing - over 8000 stations covering many genres of music, etc . LC
  6. Hello! Earlier today, I was getting set up to use Instant Sheller for GameEx. Before today, during the times I would shell GameEx, the launching of mame games went seemless. For some reason now, when I shell GameEx, I get a HiToText error every time I launch a mame game. When I start GameEx normally through windows though, this issue never happens. I'm not really sure where to start troubleshooting. Has anyone had this problem? Thanks in advance! LC GameEx.ini log.txt
  7. WOW!!! Thanks Tom!! It feels as though its Christmas...well...wait a minute lol Another great update to a great front end!!
  8. Cool! Worked like a charm - thanks!!!
  9. Netflix intergration?!?!? You f@#kin' rock man!!!! )))))
  10. Think I've got it fixed ...It seemed as though the problem landed with Windows 7 for some reason - it may have been drawing too much of my computer's resources. I backed up all my config files, downgraded to Windows XP, and so far so good, no errors!!!
  11. Cool!!! I'll give it a shot. Do I enter this in the beginning or end of the script...lol, kinda still a noo-b at autohotkey
  12. Thanks a million!! It worked great!! The thing that threw me off a little is that I tried something like that before, but dismissed it without running GameEx because of what it said in the "verify paths" in setup - that it didn't exist. ...Learn something new everyday lol LC
  13. Hello and thanks for the fast response! When ya say "Emulator Config" - are ya talking about the advance config located in C:\GameEx\Config? Currently, I have a batch file and 2 ahk files in one folder. One of the ahk files (killbutton) is used so I can exit the emulator and return to GameEx in the emulators in which I can't customize the escape button. The other is for the music videos (toggling full screen and exiting). The batch file is used for killing the process of the two ahk files. I noticed the other day that GameEx would run the ahk files, but it seems like its having a little trouble in closing them. This becomes a slight issue when wanting to play another game from the same emulator, or another emulator in which opens the same ahk file (a window pops up asking if I wan't to replace the scripts. It's not really a problem..it doesn't mess up GameEx or anything...but it is a little bit of an eyesore if I want to hide windows as much as I can) In the config file, here is where it's located: emu_1_cdcheckfile= emu_1_cdcheck=False emu_1_randommostplayed=True emu_1_showmostplayed=True emu_1_playinscreensaver=True emu_1_gamesin7zips=False emu_1_pcgame=False emu_1_selectionmusicfolder= emu_1_playselectionmusic=False emu_1_dontshowinfo= emu_1_playmusic=False emu_1_custombackground= emu_1_excludedfiles= emu_1_launchafter=H:\Users\BoxOAwesome\Documents\MAME FINALE MOVE\Scripts\killswitch.bat emu_1_launchbefore= emu_1_oldatzip= emu_1_alsolaunch=H:\Users\BoxOAwesome\Documents\MAME FINALE MOVE\Scripts\Killbutton.ahk.exe emu_1_debug=False emu_1_capitals=False emu_1_replaceunder=True emu_1_replacedash=False emu_1_sendkeys= emu_1_waitbeforekeys= emu_1_mapkeys=True emu_1_controlpanelpath=H:\Users\BoxOAwesome\Documents\MAME FINALE MOVE\SuperNintendo\Controls emu_1_mapfile= emu_1_configfile=[Mapping Off] Exit (Process Close) emu_1_info=Super Nintendo emulator emu_1_website=http://www.zsnes.com/ emu_1_requiredfiles= emu_1_downloadurl=http://www.gamesdbase.com/setupwizard/emulators/download/zsnes.7z emu_1_rating=9.0 emu_1_version=1.51 emu_1_emulator=ZSNES emu_1_category=Console emu_1_system=Nintendo SNES emu_1_baksnappath=H:\Users\BoxOAwesome\Documents\MAME FINALE MOVE\SuperNintendo\Artwork\Background emu_1_videosnappath=H:\Users\BoxOAwesome\Documents\MAME FINALE MOVE\SuperNintendo\Artwork\Video_AVI emu_2_configfile=[Mapping Off] Exit (Process Close) Thanks again!! 14. Hello! I'm having a little trouble in getting GameEx to launch a batch file (in the Advance Emulators Section) after a game exits. Can someone shed some light on what I'm doing wrong? Thanks! LC log.txt GameEx.ini
  15. Thanks!! I would first like to thank faulty condoms - for if it weren't for those, I wouldn't be here. In all seriousness though, a more of a big thanks to all you guys here...for if it wasn't for all the hard work and dedication of each and every member, moderators, and admins here to make GameEx one of the best front end software around, I wouldn't know what to do. I learned a lot from you guys, and you definitely deserve to share this moment with me . If the world doesn't blow up on the 21st of this month, lol, 2013 has a lot in store for me. Besides all the side projects I'll be working on (visual pinball machine, home theater, etc), I will be working on many new and exciting themes for GameEx. The next theme, a tribute theme to The Walking Dead, will hopefully be completed in late Janurary - just in time for the second half of Season 3 to premire on February 10th, 2013 . Cheers to us all, and may GameEx prosper for many years to come!!!
  16. Good Afternoon! I'll hook a brotha up! lol - I usually keep a previous version of GameEx on my cab just in case. http://www.mediafire.com/?6mxo7h5736jy39d *GameEx v12.91
  17. Lol, ya really should! ...I've been a fan since when the first episode aired in October of 2010 - since then, I've read the comics, and even though the show isn't really as good as the books, it is still definitely a good show . One thing about the show is that you would have to start watching it from the beginning to know what's going on. Luckily for you, they are into their third season (Mid season finale airs this Sunday on AMC here in the U.S. - not real sure about what channel it airs where you live...maybe FOX). The first two seasons are on Netflix...the first season has around six (?) episodes, second has around 13. What separates The Walking Dead apart from other zombie shows or movies, is the way the creator of the books, Robert Kirkman, tells the story. Its definitely unique lol.
  18. Hello I tried using that link twice, but for some reason, I was unable to get an acess code through my email address. I wish I would have had more time to work on the theme, but trying to find and resolve the issue with the screensaver vids has taken up a good bit of time so far lol...Once I get it solved though, I have many other ideas for themes - including a "Walking Dead" tribute theme God, I'm such a nerd lol
  19. Hello! And thanks for the replies! @Tom - Yes I do @Ceedub - Thanks for the suggestion, but it was something I've already tried lol. If use mame as screensaver, everything runs fine...but even if I use videos every once in awhile, it does the same thing as if I use "just play videos" LC
  20. Hello I wasn't able to do anything much to it - I've been trying to figure out what's been going on with the screensaver/attract mode and MP4 videos lol: http://www.gameex.in...deos-in-gameex/ But, since it's already thanksgiving, I would like to go ahead and upload one of them here (and the other, please use the link http://www.mediafire...usvzgyc2163ic96 ...was a little to big to upload here lol) , and feel free to run it through the theme editor to customize it to your liking . - Inside each .rar file, I have a christmasradio.txt file....this contains a url in which you can add into the radio setup in GameEx - this is a radio station in which plays christmas music 24/7 Enjoy! LC Christmas-GameEx.rar
  21. It's been a little while since I last worked on this issue...mainly was waiting on a new video card. I installed a NVidia G100 256MB HD video card, and tested it out a little with some newer games...mainly "The Walking Dead", and it works well. Before going any further...GameEx in HD is above and beyond any kind of awesome that will ever exist!! Lol, anyway, sadly, I'm still getting somewhat of the same error in the logs: 05:17:41.7 11/20/2012: Playing: H:\Users\BoxOAwesome\Documents\Screensavervids\Extreme-G (U) [!].mp4 05:18:20.2 11/20/2012: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. 05:18:20.2 11/20/2012: Failed Opening Video: h:\users\boxoawesome\documents\screensavervids\crzrally.mp4 05:18:20.2 11/20/2012: Error playing attract mode video 05:18:23.2 11/20/2012: Returning From Attract Mode 05:22:26.3 11/20/2012: Starting Attract Mode 05:22:27.0 11/20/2012: Shutting down display 05:22:27.5 11/20/2012: Playing: H:\Users\BoxOAwesome\Documents\Screensavervids\Madden '96 (USA, Europe).mp4 It only happened once, but still kinda happened. Now I'm stumped. I have the memory, both on board the graphics card and on the mother board, I'm using Shark007 codecs (Haali's splitter under MP4)... Can anyone shed a little light on what I'm doing wrong? ...or if there is any kinda bug? Thanks in advance! LC GameEx.ini log.txt
  22. Lol, never heard of "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo", but if it's like most shows on TLC's s@#tty lineup - uggghhh Love "The Walking Dead" though, and awesome pic!!! :Ya should do "Little People, Big World" next...Zombies + Midgets = Hours of fun!
  23. Thanks for your continuing hard work Tom!!! GameEx rocks!!!!
