Hello! I am kinda still a noo-b when it comes to custom theme creation. I have a pretty decent concept of it now though, and with time, I should improve lol. For the upcoming holiday season, I am creating a Christmas based theme to run in the arcade cab through the month of December. After the theme is 100% finished, I would also like to upload it here, to share with the community . I would post some pics of it here, but I have no idea how to create the snap image of the theme yet lol. If there is anyone here who would like to test out what I have so far, please let me know and I'll send you the files. And any comments and chritizim will always be welcome. Thanks! LC

[RESOLVED] MP4 Files with Shark007 running through GameEx
thurmansevolution replied to thurmansevolution's topic in General
Thanks for the response! I tried both, but unfortunately, it showed the same results. I am using the mp4s from Emumovies...not the Hi-Quality ones, just the plain lol. Thanks, LC -
I'm at a bit of a stumper - the rest of my hair is about gone lol. Any help with this will be greatly appricated . I am trying to lean more on using MP4 video snaps rather than AVI. The problem that I am having is: - When running GameEx, there appears to be a lag, or skips, only when the MP4 video snaps are playing with audio (when scrolling through games). The videos only play seamless during other times when there is no sound from the MP4 video. I'm pretty sure that this is some sort of codec issue...I hope. I have tried changing GameEx themes, but with the same results. I have opened the MP4 files in Windows Media Center, and all play fine through there, but for some reason, when the MP4 snap files are played with audio through GameEx, the video starts to lag and skip. I'm attaching the log and config files, as well as the installed codecs (doc) file that I exported from Shark007. If anyone can lead me in the right direction of tweaks, or tell me what I'm doing wrong, it will be greatly appriciated, and I will keep you in mind when I start Christmas Shopping next month . Thanks in advance! LC log.txt GameEx.ini installed codecs.txt

Feature & Enhancement Requests
thurmansevolution replied to Tom Speirs's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
I would like to make a request - If it's possible, please add an option to where a user can add a control panel image to daphne emulator...the kind that pops up before the game starts lol. It can be located under "Daphne Games" in the Setup Wizard, so that each game can have its own control panel -

[RESOLVED] Having a little trouble setting up Daphne
thurmansevolution replied to thurmansevolution's topic in General
Finally found out I did wrong! I found a set of instructions on the net from a fellow gameex user. It was origionally a .pdf file, but I will post what the instructions said below. Big thanks to JUSTINCASE!!! "For those of you who are running the Daphne 1.0 beta and have the 20th Anniversary DVD set (or other Digital Leisure DVD's) This is how you set it up to work with Gameex. 1. Start DaphneLoader 2. Highlight Dragon's Lair 3. Hit the configure button 4. Choose the Advanced tab 5. Next to Display Command Line choose Enable 6. Hit Apply then OK 7. Now hit the start button and a command line box will pop up 8. Copy what is in the box 9. Now exit Daphne 10. Make sure that you also Exit DaphneLoader from the bottom right of your screen by the computer clock 11. If you do not exit the DaphneLoader it WILL NOT RUN USING GAMEEX 12. Open Gameex Configuration Menu 13. Choose Daphne 14. Under Game 1 Rom type in dle21 which I believe plays all new scenes 15. Under Game 1 Options paste what you copied from the Command Line Box 16. Make sure Game 1 ROM is Enabled Please note: This guide assumes you have the daphne.exe setup in the path according to your filestructure.. Enjoy! The credit for this instruction sheet belongs to JUSTINCASE." -
Hello! It's been awhile since I've been here (Work has been draining all my freetime lately....sooo can't wait until January ) Anyway, I started working on my cab again today - I finally got the Dragon's Lair DVD Video and have DaphneLoader application set up. But for some reason, I'm having a little difficulity in getting the game to start through GameEx. Everything runs fine in DaphneLoader, but when attempting to start the game through GameEx, the screen goes black, I hear a windows error sound, and all the buttons I press will make a "ding" sound. Has anyone had this problem before, and if so, how do I fix it? Thanks in advance!! LC Additional Information: I tried using both Daphne.exe and DaphneLoader.exe in the Setup Wizard, and both does the same result GameEx.ini log.txt

Hello! After updating the Mame game list (after adding a couple of games to the "filter"), it seems as if a couple of Mame lists have disappeared - 4 Player Games, and Multiplayer Arcade Games. Also, Majong, Casino, and Adult games appeared in the all games section, even though I have these disabled in the Setup Wizard. I have rechecked the config file and also the Setup WIzard, and I have the 4 player and Multiplayer lists set as true, and the Majong, Casino, and Adult games set as false. Has anyone else here had this problem?...and if so, how did you fix it? Thanks in advance!! LC GameEx.ini log.txt

@Adultery - Same here!! Ribs is one of my favorite foods of bbq! When I bbq or grill, I usually cook enough for a small army, and any remaining leftovers are swiped by friends and family. I'm gonna try the Beer Can Chix at my next cookout - gonna pirate your receipe haha! Arrrgggg @ Draco - ya makin me hungry talkin about all that smokin' lol. What kinda wood do ya smoke with? ...I tried mine with a mixture of applewood and oak - turned out pretty good for such a strange mixture lol. @Kustom Kid - Thanks!...I followed most of the receipe except for a few minor altercations (bbq sause, seasonings) and it was sooooooooooo good!!! I used to boil mine - only because of the way I was grilling. I used to grill the simple way of just throwing down some Match-llite (I'm a charcoal kinda guy ), and grilling everything over direct heat. Ribs don't really turn out so good that way lol. Now that I learned the 2 zone...much better! I would love to try your rib receipe

Hello!! I thought I would share this for any of y'all BBQ lovers out there... Yesterday, I bbq'ed some baby back ribs, and grilled some usual burgers and dogs. What made yesterday special was that it was my first time using the 2-zone technique (out of all the times of usual "grilling"), and the whole dinner was a major sucess!! The ribs were so good, I swear I could see into the future!! lol Here is the receipe I used, as well as where I learned how to use the 2-zone technique (for anyone who doesn't know how ). http://www.amazingribs.com/recipes/porknography/best_BBQ_ribs_ever.html I'm attaching a pic of the outcome of the ribs - it was my first time without boiling them first...be gentle lol

Happy birthday GameEx!!!

Welcome Joan!! You have made an excellent choice in moving over to GameEx. I've tried hyperspin early (when I was choosing a front end) and thanks to my brother, I found this wonderful software that fits all my needs! I hope that all your experiences with GameEx will be as good as mine, and if you have any questions or comments, the GameEx team is always happy to help!! LC

Thanks Tom and Ben!! Another great release!!!

LMAO!!!! I'll be Grady! ....and just as long as ya'll don't mix Tuesdays and Fridays together on the same day as a "wild card" - that would be a little weird (or considered normal to the world of German internet porn lol) Gas prices are...well...ughhh. Some places here jumped to about $3.70 per gallon range, which quickly went back down to it's normal price. Speaking of - I think that the economy and oil prices are in a "teeter-totter" effect. When the price of oil rises, the economy slumps....and when the economy gets better, the price of oil rises, which in turn will bring the economy back down. In the long run, I believe that the way to stabilize the economy will have to be stablizing that teeter-totter effect between oil and the markets. As far as Isaac goes - even though people here have been a little extreme in prepping up (emptying shelves and stocking up on gas far north of the coast), I did underestimate the storm. So far, I have several big limbs down in the backyard, but what I'm most worried about is the amount of water - we live in a flood zone. Luckily though, the rain broke for a little while last night, letting the water that accumulated in the back yard to drain a bit before all the rain today . I was stuck at work for about a day and a half, in which I finally got to go home last night. I live about a 45 minute drive, and the rain and wind was unreal on the drive home...was almost moving sideways across the hood of my car.

Wow!! Damn...Our's here is around $3.60 or so a gallen. From what I heard this morning, the spike is mainly going to affect the south east part of the U.S. due to the amount of refineries that were shut down. I hope it doesn't effect y'all any...I can't imagine paying more than $4 a gallon. If it does though, I think and hope that it will only be temporary...once they get caught up with production, and election is coming up....hopefully we will all see somewhat of a good relief at the pump soon. Crazy things happen because of people who panic - one thing I definitely learned in times like these lol.

@KRC - Awww! lol, my gf is the same way...she's been worried a little about it...all we can do is do our best to help them stay and feel safe . @nullPointer - Thanks!! I'll keep y'all informed of the activities here lol . I don't think that it's gonna be as bad "wind wise" as they first said it was going to be...I think the biggest threat we have here is the amount of water coming from it. I packed some sandbags down yesterday and spent most of the day prepping up a little. Now all there is left to do is wait it out and stay on top of things. One thing I found that was a bit...overdramatic...from a lot of people here in the "landmass" (once known as "Mississippi" according to The Weather Channel lol), is that people are freaking out most about gas. I went by store today on my way to work, and a friend of mine who works as a clerk there told me that they were out of gas for awhile and just got a new shipment in. She further said that one of the causes of their gas shortages were because of people filling up multiple 55 gallon drums...which of course, will make the price of gas here spike up...ughhh...

I agree - it is a big storm. They are now calling for it to dump more rain than Katrina, but luckily, it's expected only to strengthen to a weak hurricane. They also moved the path a little more westward, but Hattiesburg is still included - on the upper east side of the storm. I still don't think that it's gonna be the end of the world like everyone around here thinks lol. I finished prepping up a little - flipped the trampoline upside down, and brought everything that I think might blow around inside. Gonna be an interesting next few days lol. Luckily though, I have my cab and GameEx to keep me occupied through the rain as long as we have power and if I'm not at work .

Hello! Where do I begin this story without wanting to strangle some people - mainly the dips@#ts that are taking the upcoming hurricane (Isaac) waaaaaaaaaayyyy too seriously. I'm not going to mention any names, but damn....lol. First off, I live in Hattiesburg, Mississippi - which is located about 90 or so miles (around 145 km) north of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I understand that when a hurricane forms, and its starts heading in your general direction, some degree of preparation is necessary depending on the strength of the storm...but post Katrina, people here have been close to going into a panic mode over tropical storms or weak hurricanes (less than cat 3). On August 29, 2005, I lived in a community called "House". When Katrina came through, the center of the storm was around 5 - 10 miles (8 - 16 km) from my house - and it was still a Cat 1 hurricane. Though it was bad, the amount of damage in my community was extensive because of the building codes in our part of mississippi was not to standard with dealing with hurricane force winds. With that being said, I think people here are still shaken up when it comes to hurricanes post-Katrina. They fail to realize (expecially that here) has stronger building codes - and that now, an average building along the Mississippi Gulf Cost post Katrina can withstand up to Cat 4 hurricane winds. I drink a lot of bottled water, and have been running low. I went to 4 different stores last night looking for some water to kinda replenish my stock, and 3 of them were sold out of bottled water - really??? The track at the time (and is now) is still uncertian, and people are already acting like it's going to be an apocalypse - I noticed that Home Depot and Lowe's were packed this morning as well. My girlfriend's dad has also been "on the fritz" when it comes to Isaac. First, he is a good man, and I know he means well - but he has been bugging us to go out and get supplied up. Then at work - same deal...people are acting crazy.... Kinda make me wanna pull the rest of my hair out of my HEAD!!! lol I've been through plenty of bad weather...most recent is a tornado that passed through Philadelphia, Mississippi (that passed within 10 blocks from my house at the time), and was the same storm cell that later became the major tornado to hit Tuscaloosa, AL: [media=] I am still alive and kicking - I just wish most people could calm down a little and realize that everything will be ok in the long run! If it becomes a major hurricane (Cat 3 or higher), then I will understand to panic a little lol. Thanks for hearing my rant . LC
