I think I'll avoid that one
-
What is game launcher? I wasn't really even reading into that. I thought he was talking about your plug in originally.
-
I'm not having issues, but I'm using tapatalk. Ha, went to edit this and I accidentally liked my own post. Deleted that. I can try to access it on my computer to see if it will lag there. My Xbox One's connection has been awful the last couple days, but that's a different issue. Sounds like they're having an issue on their end.

Here's what I'm talking about. You can change it in the config file or the setup wizard. Current: ROMPath=C:\Games\Arcade\Mame32\roms\Capcom;C:\Games\Arcade\Mame32\roms\Taito; New: ROMPath=C:\Games\Arcade\Mame32\roms\Capcom;C:\Games\Arcade\Mame32\roms\Taito

I'd try taking the ; out first. Then, if that doesn't fix it, I'd start looking into making one large file for roms, rather than two.
-
First, I'd take out the last ";" in your rom path. That may do something, not sure you need the final one there. Also, if you can, I'd put them all in one file. GameEx will separate the capcom and Taito roms I believe, within the mame section menu. Not sure you need two separate files, but if you do that's cool.

Ha, good call Adultery. That's what I'd bet on.

There are a few things you may be able to try. You will need to go into the GameEx Setup Wizard. Here is a link for that, if you need assistance. http://www.gameex.info/wiki/index.php/Category:GameEx_Setup_Wizard This Wiki helped me a ton! You will want to check the MAME settings section: http://www.gameex.info/wiki/index.php/GameEx:MAME_Settings_(Setup_Wizard) You may have an odd file in your custom lists section.... http://www.gameex.info/wiki/index.php/GameEx:MAME_Settings_(Setup_Wizard)#Custom_Lists_Path In regards to games showing up that you do not have, you would want to change the 'Only Existing Roms' section. The default is to show all roms and is defaulted to 'no.' If you change that to 'yes,' it should then only show roms you have on your computer. Link below. http://www.gameex.info/wiki/index.php/GameEx:MAME_Settings_(Setup_Wizard)#Only_Existing_Roms

Yeah, I hate all the pop ups and what not inside weather bug. It might be better not to have the weather deal work anyways. Not really sure I want to know that it's 9 degrees Fahrenheit out right now in Minneapolis.

Anyone know what the convert it forum is? Evolution related or just general conversion stuff. Getting excited…

Time to go to weather bug?

Hey naborneo, I'm wondering some pretty basic questions... Mainly because I'm not too up on the lingo. Would you be doing side art, marquees, kick plates and bezels? I got my artwork awhile back before I really knew what I was doing. My bezel has like 100 marquees on it in a collage type thing. I thought it looked cool, but it just looks messy on my machine. I then found out that a large majority of games have a bezel that shows up on the screen, like pacman, dig dug, etc. when the bezel art is up and next to the bezel I have, it just looks ridiculous. I followed the same thing with my marquee and that's messy. Does the backlit film mean marquee? Any limits or suggestions on clarity for the artwork? If we do get the artwork, is there somewhere that you can accept photos of the finished product so you can get some positive feedback? How can I enter my name for the possibility of being one of the lucky two who get free artwork? If I don't get lucky, what are you thinking for pricing options for the artwork? I steered away from www.gameonGrafix.com for the custom side art because the price seemed steep and you'd be supplying the art. Would you be okay with us using any of the artwork you created earlier. I really specifically liked the console games one. I'd like to have artwork that portrayed the versatility of the machine. It's not just an arcade sort of speak, but an emulator. Thanks and sounds cool. Hopefully it goes great!

Thanks guys. Also, sorry… not trying to break rules or have anyone else violate the rules of the forum. I was mainly just wondering if there was a game or app out there that you could pay to get. I'll look the Google route.
-
Has anyone heard of a Fix it Felix Jr. (Wreck it Ralph) game being in the wild. I'd love an app or game I could buy or even a mame deal I guess. I know it wasn't an actual released arcade game, but I think my daughter would like it.

Pretty sure you can adjust the menu in the theme editor. I guess I'd need to know what menu you're talking about for sure. You'd need to edit the specific theme you are currently using. Menu bar track? The bar on top and the scroller both can be adjusted in the theme editor. The screenshot deal. I have no idea. I know that adultery has a plug in called high score snapper. But that is for use in mame when playing a game in the high score competition. I didn't realize you couldn't just take a control print screen deal.

Whoa, what's a glass overlay? I can assume it's an added layer over on the right that makes a glass effect, I'll have to look into that. Gaussian blur? It sounds like a foreign term for bad gas or something. Oh, this will give people a laugh. I had to you tube how to make shadow/bubble text in gimp. I must admit that the dude in the video that I found basically just made me laugh the whole time and my text looked awful afterwards. Some of the online help videos have some interesting characters.

Okay, so I have always seen peoples personalized gamer tags on here and they have very nice rounded rectangles. Mine was this gawd awful square thing at first, then I made it a circle.. because, I could not figure out how people were making such a perfect oval or whatever.... ENTER the rounded rectangle in Gimp. Unreal. BLEW MY MIND! I had been using the eraser on the corners. This will give you a glimpse at my technological intelligence level and is a heads up for the next time I post a weird question! That is all. (For those who know the Gimp program, you'll know what I am talking about. For those who don't. it's an awesome program for graphical stuff and is somewhat of a free photoshop)

No problem. I missed the description for the RGB joysticks on the bottom when I looked the first time. I see they can be 2, 4 or 8 way. pretty cool. Do you know how the change between the 3 options? I did not realize there was a light up version with these capabilities.
-
Both groovy and Ultimarc have been great for me. No issues. I've never bought from paradise.
-
Can you switch between 4 way and 8 way with the RGB LED joysticks? Games like pac man play better with a 4 way (up, down, left, right), whereas 1942 or fighting games need 8 ways (add the corner diagonals, left/up, right/up, etc.). I'd recommend a joystick from Ultimarc that does that. I got my buttons from groovy and two fairly cheap joysticks (8 way only) for players 3 and 4. I'm pretty sure there is no need for 4 way for players 3 and 4. I got the mag stik plus from Ultimarc in blue for players 1 and 2. You can switch from 4 way to 8 way by pulling up on the joystick shaft and turning it. There are joysticks out there with their own control boards that'll auto switch from 4 to 8 way based on the game. Example for that would be the servo stik from Ultimarc. I got the u track flush mount trackball from Ultimarc. I loved that it was basically a mouse and connected to the computer via USB. I then was able to wire two buttons as the left and right mouse buttons and I have no need for a mouse now, unless I'm doing something extensive in Gimp for artwork. My trackball is blue, but I think you can get a multi color one too. It won't come lit up, you have to buy the extra deal. I ended up just putting lighting inside my panel, which lights the trackball. The ball itself is blue, so any white light will do. I also have the aimtrac light guns. I knew I wanted the guns, so I wanted an easy way to hook them up. I'd seen people who had made the gun holder deals on the front. I wasn't sure if I liked the look of that and I was even less confident that I could build something like that and not have it look like crap. I ended up putting USB ports on the outside of my control panel. That way I can plug the guns in when I want them. It also comes in handy for iPods, iPads, etc. easy access to a USB port. I have a link to the USB product and a picture in my build post in this forum I believe. My next project will be to add a spinner. I'm thinking I'll go with the Spin Trak over at Ultimarc. That way I can add that steering wheel attachment for games like pole position, which would be sweet.

I like that, but if you go with a 32 inch or higher tv screen, I feel like the vertical games are still even bigger than they were originally in the arcade. My regret is even putting a bezel in. If I would've known about built in bezel artwork within mame prior to my build. I would've just filled the whole opening with a TV. Then you could just have the game bezels be the bezels. It's genius

What are you going with for display?
