I was using a favorite bar link, which was directed to the .com not the .net. I also typed it in a few times. I have Comcast

Just an FYI. The main gameex.com website was not loading for quite some time on my iPad the other day. I finally just connected to the forum with Tap a Talk. I then realized Tom had released a video of GameEx evolution, but the media wasn't showing in the app. I then went back to gameex.com and it wasn't loading. I then went on my cab to the forums and I was able to view the video there. A little later that evening, I got the main site to load without issue and was able to view the video. I just figured it was due to high web traffic viewing the media.

This one sounds an awful lot like SmashTV. I can walk you through the MAME control setup for this game over the phone Jedi. I did this same thing for SmashTV, because I was losing my mind with buttons.

Yeah, it didn't say that in the post!! Haha. Any other ways?

Is there an easier way to restart a game, other than the f3 or whatever? I will be playing a game for a high score and die at a point where I know I am now screwed for my top score. Rather than just let my guys get killed to restart or exit totally back to gameex, is there some quicker way. I saw on the internet you could hit f3 or whatever. I did that and it restarted, but it also reset my high score table for that game. WHICH TOTALLY SUCKED!!

Sorry, I was not questioning the inclusion of the game rom type or the rules set forth. I like the way it's run and using twin galaxies. I was more just wondering why it was a bootleg. I posted prior to doing the research on my own, which I located on twin galaxies. I was more inquiring, because both Yung-Jedi and I have used the non boot legged choplifter and it was working on our versions of MAME. When I realized that it was due to functionality issues on wolfmame .106, I then answered my own question. I may be off the radar for awhile. I have been pretty busy at home and work. I also dropped my iPhone in the lake while fishing. I was able to retrieve it and it's currently hanging out in a bag of rice. It has steadily gotten better the last few days, so I hope to have it back soon. I am currently using my old slow as heck HTC and it's painful to think of tapatalk on that sucker.

My assumption on this rom title is that it is the boot leg of Choplifter, since it has the "bl" on the end. Did Twin Galaxy decide that the boot leg was more true to the original arcade version of the game? When running this through GameEx, I imagine I will have to either filter this specific rom (as it's a bootleg) or just allow boot leg roms? Correct? EDIT: Ok, I see on TwinGalaxies.com that the original did not work in wolfmame .106. I guess they have just decided to stick it out with the bootleg. I imagine wolf mame must be past version .106 now and I am wondering if the original is now working. Seems odd that they wouldn't update the use of a boot leg if they could. "Note: The Original Version doesn't work in Wolfmame 0.106, hence this version being used."

Possible to change view to show game boxes or carts?
MNMax21 replied to jperkins79's topic in General
Yeah, I went through this a little too. I live the boxes more than the screen shots. Looking forward to the evolution. Uman post will get the boxes going on emulators, Atari, etc. you just change the title path in the setup wizard for each emulator to point to the game boxes or whatever you prefer, be it cartridge or whatever. You will then display that and the video snap if you have a theme that does both. If recommend the gameroom theme by Krakerman. It's pretty slick. -
See you in the high score forums then. I have been MIA over there though.

Did you say you have heard that current themes may not transfer to evolution? -

Thanks! I've been monkeying around in gimp quite a bit lately. I've changed it a couple times in the last few days. Ha

It works for me. Make sure to make the hi score file. I used the mameui portion of it.

I really like all the options you're working on. Nothing is better than a large amount of bells and whistles. If people want the Atari game specific themes, they can do that. If they want the main Atari theme, they can go that route. Keep up the awesome work. I cannot wait until you tackle Nintendo NES specific rom backgrounds! HAA. -

I have an iPhone 5 . Ha -
Ok, so I know I can edit the background for last played, most played, jukebox, etc. I was wondering if there is a way to edit the background for custom lists in the MAME subcategory? Mainly, create custom backgrounds for 4 player games, spinner games, etc. after selecting them from the list.

Would you mind putting through an update with the steam background? -
You need to update all of those files. I used HK's compiler and ended up using Mr. Do's website to find all of the .dat files and what not. Just make sure to grab the most recent file and grabbed the fixed history.dat from DazzleHP above. Some of them have not been updated in awhile. http://mrdo.mameworld.info/mame.php High Score files: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=64298.0
