i disabled media center in the setup and have no desire to use media center. I did see that in the logs and thought it was odd given i disabled this function. More to that, i find myself disabling just about everything since the only function i want is for mame and daphne.
-
neither, it was a clean install. No upgrade.
-
see attached. Also worth noting mame runs fine by itself. Thanks. GameEx.ini

just installed latest and greatest gameex. configured it using setup wizard. upon launch get a black screen. log below...

ah... okay, well upon first review it appears that the majority of the games have nothing going on so to speak in the bg while the game is not running... therefore IMO the bg videos are a better approach visually. Thanks Tom.
-
not understanding what you're saying... could you please rephrase? I will also restate my question another way.... Using the new directb2 feature, is the backglass intended to appear as a static image while browsing games or should it appear same as if you are playing the game with lights flashing, digits displayed, etc?.
-
I realize directb2s is NOT static when playing a game.... are you saying while browsing pinballx with the setting on, the backglass will show the same as if you were playing the game?
-
thanks for the reply. didn't see that option the frist couple times i browsed after updating. upon further review i like the old way (i.e. .flv video) insead... the directb2s bg is just a still image, and the grills are all on by default which isn't good for a real cab with real dmd.... i'm sure there is a way to turn that off but unless there is a way to make the directb2s bg in the interace a non-still image i don't see the benefit.
-
I've updated from 1.99 to 2.02 because i read it now supports using the directb2s backglass instead of the video (normally .flv) files in the interface. I see no options for telling pinballx that i want to do this. Further I read somewhere that there is no option but rather will "just work".... so i removed some of my video files to see if it would start reading the directb2s files but did not. what am i missing? thanks.
-
What am i missing here? I installed the latest version but see no settings for using direct2bs bg in the interface. Still using my bg video files instead.

You my friend are a fregin' jeneaous! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! All i had to do was click the little box that says "override default layout box"... whatever the h* that means and all is good on the other 2 versions. Oddly, that option had changed descriptions from 915, obviously has something to do with the pausing. You da man! Oh and yes, also have the Virtuapin plunger kit version 2 (think that's the latest that works).... had the version 1 multiple times and never got this far.
-
okay... so here's the latest on this puzzling situation. I'm going to assume there are others out there with same problem. Pausing inside of PX only works if it's a 9.1.5 version in my case. I'm running this version as well as VPinball991 and vpinball-9_9-accelmod-8-20-2014. If i'm playing a game in either of the 2 later versions, when i attempt to resume game the resume/quit window is in the forefront and can do nothing other than hit the pause button again which brings me back to the resume/exit game menu in pinballx. All 3 versions have the same key settings. Any power users out there than can give me a clue?

.swf files when opened in ie or other browser which have a special bar at the top for zooming indicate that those files will cause this bevavior described. As a work around not using those swf files and instead using a .png seems to prevent the zoom setting to revert back to non-full screen.
-
I was premature in saying this issue was solved. Upon further review it appears certain .swf files for whatever reason cause the adobe flash player to revert back to a non-full screen vew setting. Going to attach one that causes this issue. On second thought guess i won't, says i don't have permission to upload this kind of file.
-
SOLVED. figured out if i right click on the card and choose full screen in adobe settings, this change stays in affect. Not sure why it did sometimes before but not always... regardless that seems to have done the trick.

Got a weird one here. Using .swf instruction files. After viewing more than a couple different instruction cards they begin to show zoomed out at random. Instruction cards are on the backglass monitor. Never had this issue before and cards would always appear "best fit, auto-zoom". This issue is reproduceable 100% of the time. step 1. restart pinballx, step 2. view card for 1 table, step 3. view card for another table, step 4 go back to first table and view card again, now it appears like the image attached.

Sorry guys, i've spent hours sifting through the different topics on this, messing around with mappings and have attempting every solution mentioned. Attaching my configs. Here's my deal: Hitting P on the keyboard during game to pause and hitting P again does resume... no problems. When i use a button on my cab assigned to P, the first time I hit the button it does take me to the pinballx menu giving me the option to stop playing or go back to the game..... However, when i attempt to go back to the game i see the vp "resume, quit, edit script" menu and can do nothing at this point. Also worth mentioning, the button #'s inside the pinballx setup end up showing different than what's assigned in vp keys settings. As an example, if i assign a cabinet button to a key in VP it shows up as Button 8, but when i assign same cabinet button inside PinballX it will appear as Button 7. Any ideas? PinballX.ini

after a little more effort all tables from both versions show up together upon startup... at the moment i'm not sure why but will keep my fingers crossed this behavior will continue. thank you for the replies.
-
yes, it's enabled. after reviewing other threads about game manager removing mods to the xml i've opted to stay away from directly editing the xml. so... still no idea how to show all games among all systems upon startup. thanks.
-
i downloaded the pdf but did not see what i was looking for upon first and second attempt.... if you are saying you know the answer to my question is in there then i will look a third time... if you are saying you don't know but "think" it should be in there then my guess is it's not in there. Again, all i'm asking is when i start PinballX i want it to default to all games and their respective tables. I've managed to create a group and know how to navigate to it but just not seeing how to have it load this group upon startup. Regardless, i will keep digging just thought i would save myself the time by posting in this forum. thanks.

Using a couple different versions of vpball so i have the main visual pinball enabled as well as a "other system" for my other versions. How does one go about setting up pballx to show all tables of all versions upon startup rather than defaulting to just the main visual pinball emulator? Thanks.

The problem with emails, forums, and the like, things can be taken out of context or greatly exaggerated. I thought my question to Draco was valid however my wording was obviously not thought out well enough in my quick reply. Apologize to all those offended. I am not running anything out of the ordinary as it pertains to the OS... Win7Pro 64bit, this is not a lite or hacked version. I agree it does sound like something to do with environment but was hoping i wasn't alone and someone out there may have run across this as well as a solution. Yes to running as admin and the other potential solutions/tries suggested by zeenon.
