  1. I would just to add that, in general, entries in Theme.ini, where identical, always take precedence over GameEx.ini. At least as far as I have experieced until now.

    Good!
  3. Please, would you mind to attach GameEx.ini and the log as described here: http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/6451-how-to-ask-for-help/ And apart of that, do you have custom menus?
  4. What I suggest at this point is to set up "music folders" for other emulators than Amiga .... and see if it works. I'm running GameEx on a WinXP SP3 old machine, and never had a problem with mp3 files.... Don't trust widows debug window... ntdll is too generic, it doesn't involve specific driver issue. Please provide us your system specifications...
  5. Happy birthday, Iano! Have a great day!
  6. @ Flocke & Draco: guys, please check your GameEx.ini too... I guess you have the same entry! And I guess you have two entries too! In fact, that line is added by GameEx itself, and it's re-added at every update... A leftover from Tom's installation, I think. This is one of the few redundant entries I spoke about, some time ago... Never had a problem with that entry, though. It seems GameEx simply skips that line. @Rochabian: However, please do as suggested... although probably your problem is elsewhere. You don't have issues with the ambiance file, right? Which file extesion do have your music files?
  7. Thank you all!!! You are fantastic! Seriously, this is the best community I've found on the net. :)
  8. Koop, if I understood correctly, your question regards MAME's working, not GameEx. Anyway, I've never investigated this subject, so I'm not able to help. But wait... as usual someone of the crew will provide wise suggestions...
  9. I've noticed something worse... probably a bug. Selecting the various views, at a certain point you arrive at the horizontal scrolling view (the last one indroduced). Obiously GameEx picks up its default background, since no theme has a proper background for that view for now. The issue is that, from that moment, if you continue changing views, GameEx keeps its background and doesen't revert to the one from the selected theme. I tried with three different themes, same results.

Try with the "select" button, the same button you use to select games.
  11. Very nice! I like the "futuristic" style! Good work djour!
  12. Chazz, if you are still around, any news about your project? I really hope you didn't give up! Sincerly, I'm following all the "work in progress" projects that you graphic-talented guys are developing, I like them all (no rethoric here), more or less, they are very attractive and well-conceived, and I eager to use some new themes as soon as they will be released. Only thing is that all of them are game-oriented, and that's all for good, of course, but I would be happy to see an HTPC-oriented theme like this in action...
  13. As Tempest said, you should read the post "How to ask for help". It includes complete instructions. Here's the link for your convenience: http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/6451-how-to-ask-for-help/page__p__47474#entry47474. Since the forum recentrly changed, here's how to attach files: use the "More Reply Options", and you'll find it. Zip your GameEx.ini or convert it to .txt. I'm not sure how this works now, but before the "new restyling", you weren't allowed to attach ini files.
  14. I missed this project Adultery, and it's fantastic! And what do you guys think about have flags instead of colors, like in the GoodMerge sets?
  15. Don't remove boot.ini!
  16. Thank you HK! Your update exceeds my expectations! And works like a charm! Thank thank thank you!
  17. Well well... long story short, I was working on translation/correction of the Setup Wizard Italian language file. Long work, short time. However, I was in the process of translating custom language entries, copy\pasting them from the general language file into the Setup Wizard config file. Now that file is old, new features have been added in the meantime, and new antries have been added in the config file, too. I don't want to mess with that file manually adding\adjusting things, so I think I have to start from the beginning. My question is: is it possible to automatically import the entries from Italian.ini into the SetupWizard_it.xml in the correct place? I'm referring to the custom language part of that file, of course. For example, how did you, Ben, import the translated entries in the various language files? I suppose you used an automated process, don't you? This question is directed to Tom and Ben, but if someone else has a solution or suggestion to share, please tell me. Approximately 50% of that file is filled with custom language entries. If I could import them automatically, 50% of the job would be done, and I could concentrate my effort on the remaining part of the file. Cheers, Alpha.
  18. As I feared, the OP missed a basic step. And as nullPointer pointed out (eheeh, this is a contradiction, isn't it?), first you should become familiar with configuration settings for every single emulator you want to use, not only with fullscreen modes, but with keyboard and joystick settings, video, audio and directory settings too. When they are configured the way you want, you can proceed configuring the emulators in GameEx. My advice is to read the readme files included in each emulator, which shlould contain satisfactory instructions.
  19. Thank you for this release!
  20. Speaking in general, every emulator should be configured apart from GameEx to be launched in full screen, using their own configuration settings. GameEx only launches emulators. But you already have configured your emulators that way, right? You mean that, although you have configured JNES and ZSNES to run in fullscreen, they refuse to do so only when launched in GameEx, do you? In this case the link Draco suggested is in fact a good place to investigate this issue.
  21. Try to set "Show Desktop" to "Yes"... you can find that option under emulators config.
  22. Thank you Adultery! You are really a software machine! Thank you for sharing!
  23. It doesn't happen to me... I dunno what the cause could be... And by the way, video playback works for me now, after Tom's recent effort with video codecs...

    Mame config

@Seb: Post your configuration file (found in GameEx\CONFIG\ folder), according to these instructions: http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/6451-how-to-ask-for-help/. This way we can see what kind of fileters are on. I agree with fReq, this can't be due to anything other than a filtering setting.
  25. You said you have MAMEUI32, but it seems you actually have MAME. I would check for version conflict. Which version of MAME GameEx downloaded for you? (hover your mause over the main MAME executable and read the version). Which romset version do you have? Since it's difficult to find older version of MAMEUI, unless you have the latest 144 romset, I think it's better for you to manually download the MAME version that match with your romset and re-set paths and everything MAME-related in Setup Wizard. http://mamedev.org/ Update your game list in GameEx. Don't try to launch MAME directly, it is a command line application and doesn't have a GUI interface. Use GameEx to launch your games istead, and let us know what happens.
