I'm using 12/5 even though 12/7 is out. The author talked about possible regressions... So I haven't played with it yet.
-
Yep EDIT: BTW, Marvel Vs Capcom 2 crashes this emulator, whcih is one of my favorate Naomi games. So I still recommend Makaron over NullDC.

Pskill wont run the process, it will just close it. Open Xpadder, then open your command prompt and type this, or paste it. See if it closes it. C:\Users\tony_gallone.OTTAWA\pskill.exe xpadder.exe Or Launch xpadder again, via command prompt with the /c switch. This should also close it.

Kinda. Xpadder has the ability to use specific controller profiles, usage may be "c:\path to xpadder\xpadder.exe" proflename.profileextention Try loading xpadder via the command prompt to sure your profile is loading correctly. Then if it is, the command you are using via command prompt will be put in the launch before section. Now gameex will not close it once the emu closes, thats where launch after comes in. You will have to close the process. There are utilities like PSKILL and others that will kill a process by name. Pskill.exe Xpadder.exe Will kill the xpadder process (thus closing it) If I were to add it to the loader, I would need the exact path as it exists in your system to xpadder. I would also need the exact verbage of loading the profile. For example it may look like like this. xpadder.exe profilename /m In the loader i would have Run, c:\program files\Xpadder\xpadder.exe test /m (assuming the path is right) Then when Esc is pressed Process, Close, Xpadder.exe This would close the xpadder process. Assuming is is Xpadder.exe There are some 4 year old posts talking about the same thing http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?showtopic=4563 EDIT: After reading my 4 year old post you do not need to kill it in launch after you can run the program using /C to close xpadder. So it makes this super east to implment in Gameex.

By "it" you mean xpadder? Sure. Lauched before and launch on exit are built into gameex, that may work for what you want to do. If not it can be added onto the loader.

Got the package. This loader is quick and dirty, no frills or error checking. Upzip and place loader.exe in the same directory as the emulator. Gameex config command is Loader.exe "[rompath]\[romfile]" Map keys off Romextention *.lst Let me know if it works, if not Ill spend a lil more time on it. Brian Loader.zip

Yes it is hex codes, hopefully your = is on 4player or something that doesnt affect the majority of games. I knew it would be easier just to remap your keys from non mame defualt. I know at first it seemed like a pain, but I and many others have done this just to save our sanity. Thanks for the follow up. Brian

Simbamame, it depends on what naomi emulator you decide to use. I recommend Makaron or Demul. Once you try both emulators and pick one, we can get it sorted in Gameex for you. Both are pretty easy to get going. Brian

Vermin, I am sorry to hear about your network issues. I have checked and all appears fine (note the screenshot). Thanks for taking the time to report though. Have you tried doing a tracert to Gameex and see how many hops there are? Perhaps there is a problem in one of the servers from your ISP to the destination. Or maybe an ipconfig /flushdns may improve things. Heck it may even resolve itself. Brian

I don't think anyone would get upset with you. The fact of the matter is if you are getting xbox 1, ps2, game cube games at gamestop you are not supporting the developer. They are used and you are only supporting Gamestop. Now lets be honest here, there are no good Xbox 1 emulators. Ps2 emulation is coming along very nice along with Gamecube and Wii. Ps3 and of course xbox 360 emulation wont happen anytime soon. Now, I own a Wii and a DS.. I dont own a Xbox360 or Ps3. Of course there are new games you cannot get here. (like the TypeX arcade games) I will admit to only downloading games to consoles that are not currently in development. EG no new gen systems. I think that supporting the developer is nice too. I also think that game companys really only care about people pirating the stuff htey are trying to make money off of. To me grabbing that torrent of Mvsc3 or MK7 is not worth it, my luck Id be made an example of.. Not to mention I dont have any of those systems they are released on.. Brian

Hi, Thank you for your interest in gameex. Toms email address is [email protected] Tom processes the the keys manually (or used to) and may be in a diffrent time zone so please do not be alarmed. You should be getting your key soon. Sorry about the inconvience, if you continue to have problems please let us (staff) know. Thanks again Brian hoffman

Jombee, Your problem really lies with the way windows works. When windows boots you have a bunch of programs that also start running. Your system try populates with all sorts of programs. These programs are probably stealing focus from gameex. You have two options. 1. Disable any startup and tray icons you do not need. That may fix it. 2. See how long after you first boot your cab that it takes for things to stop loading in your tray. An AHK script can be made to sleep for that amount of time then load gameex. Good luck! Brian

nullDC Keyboard Input Woes Hopefully Someone Else Has Been Here

Yes you are very right. My first was also Nesticle, the testicle. On a tandy running dos/ win 3.1 There is a thread about that somewhere around here. Brian -
nullDC Keyboard Input Woes Hopefully Someone Else Has Been Here
Brian Hoffman replied to piratepowwow's topic in General
Sure it is, yes. Your options are limited (except for MAME that allows for multiple keyboards) Most games are single to two players. So assign those the best keys. Next you have 3 and four player games. You have to pick and choose your battles. How many 4 player games in MAME use more than 4 buttons? It doesnt matter if your CP allows 15 buttons for each of the players.. You may never use them and do not need to assign them all. Personally, I have struggled over the years to find a perfect balance of playability while still being able to use the majority of emulators. For me using Mames default mapping has caused more headaches than anything. This is why I recommended remapping your keys. You will spend years tweaking, and re-tweaking your settings.. Trust me look at my join date.. I have a 4 player cab, and I never see the opportunity to play them. Granted your situation may be different than mine. Good luck Brian I mean, if you want to get really crazy you can install PPJOY and GLOVEPIE and have your keyboard send joystick inputs. While its alot of work it may give you the latitude of using nonstandard keys for your configs. -
nullDC Keyboard Input Woes Hopefully Someone Else Has Been Here
Brian Hoffman replied to piratepowwow's topic in General
Yes, I have experienced your problems with NullDC. Also I have had problems in windows in general with mames default key mappings. If you press SHIFT repetadly it brings up sticky keys, this can be disabled but is a nuisance. Keys like Ctrl and ALT do funny things in various emulators becuase they are commonly used for hotkey assignments and shortcut keys. It seems it always happens when a friend is over and we are in an intense button mashing game. The fix is simple, remap your keys on your controller. If you use an IPAC it is simple to do. Avoid keys like CTRL,ALT,SPACE,ENTER if you can. As well as other special characters. You will find that other emulators will not cause you problems, emulators like NULLDC that lets you assign but not use those keys will work and your overall experience will be better. You may be able to so some key remapping via GX or AutoHotkey to also resolve this, but I found it easier just to bite the bullet and reconfigure my keys/emulators. Brian -
Sure you want to zip up your emu and PM me the package?
-
I use an IPAC, not a x360 pad. Here is a working setup for ipac, it may point you in the right direction. I have just got the 2nd player working using the mame default keys so if anyone wants it here is my jvs.ini [Keyboard] # F1 KEY_0x70 = FB_TEST # F2 KEY_0x71 = FB_SERVICE # 1 KEY_0x31 = P1_START # 5 KEY_0x35 = COIN1 # UP KEY_0x26 = P1_UP # DOWN KEY_0x28 = P1_DOWN # LEFT KEY_0x25 = P1_LEFT # RIGHT KEY_0x27 = P1_RIGHT # L ctrl KEY_0xA2 = P1_BUTTON1 # L alt KEY_0xA4 = P1_BUTTON2 # Space KEY_0x20 = P1_BUTTON3 # L shift KEY_0xA0 = P1_BUTTON4 # Z KEY_0x5A = P1_BUTTON5 # X KEY_0x58 = P1_BUTTON6 #2 KEY_0x32 = P2_START # R KEY_0x52 = P2_UP # F KEY_0x46 = P2_DOWN # D KEY_0x44 = P2_LEFT # G KEY_0x47 = P2_RIGHT # A KEY_0x41 = P2_BUTTON1 # S KEY_0x53 = P2_BUTTON2 # Q KEY_0x51 = P2_BUTTON3 # W KEY_0x57 = P2_BUTTON4 # I KEY_0x49 = P2_BUTTON5 # K KEY_0x4B = P2_BUTTON6 this was only poss due to philbee and dpar posts thanks guys sosfx is online now Reply With Quote

You don't need to run gameex to use theloader, but it is designed to be run via command line. Typically, nulldcloader.exe "c:\emualtion\naomi\maverlvscapcom2.lst" With that said, its an old loader and probably will fail to work with the newest build. Brian
-
Can you ZIP and upload your gameex config file?
-
It needs a loader. You are using some intermediate build. There is a sample loader here : http://forums.ngemu.com/nulldc-discussion/113176-naomi-loader-cli-ready.html That I authored a while back, I really havent used NullDC for Naomi since Makaron and Demul. If you really need this build I can re-write this loader, or edit it slightly. Brian
-
Congratulations on your purchase, Mame32 is OLD, it isn't called that anymore so I can say with most certainty that you need to upgrade MAME. With that said, when you do major upgrades to MAME, you need to acquire a ROMSET for that version. Eg. Mame 140. You should note that a complete romset (recommended) is 24gig (about)for the ROMS and CHD is over 100 gig. Some very good games need CHD's, like StreetFighter3,nflblitz,KillerInstinct 1&2 Lets also keep in mind that you will need a powerfull machine to run the newest mame builds. Also, you do not copy ROMS into Gameex persay. You upgrade your MAME and ROMS and either overwrite your old ones or create a new directory. You configure Gameex to look for the new paths and executable and choose UPDATE LIST option form GAMEEX, it will create a new gamelist for you and allow you to access your newgames from the frontend. Can you give us any other information as to the PC specs, MAME version, Gameex Version and supplier? Brian
-
Cool, let me know how it works out. As far as Demul goes, I replied in the other thread how to get that going without a loader. Makaron is another VERY good naomi emulater and does not need a loader either. NullDC does need one, and I created one for that too. Its around here somewhere. If you get stuck let us know and we will point you in the right direction. Brian

Here is a loader that works, I just tested it. Import this config (attached) and use this loader. Don't forget to edit your paths and working directory. The loader assumes two files will be in the same directory as the game, the files are typex_loader.exe and game.exe [Emulator_3] Enabled=True STARTPAGENAME=Type X Games TITLETEXT=Taito Type X StartPageLogo= ROMFilter=*.exe RomPath=D:\Type X Games\BlazBlue Continuum Shift\ RomsInFolders= SnapPath= TitlePath= BoxPath= CartPath= ManualPath= ControlPanelPath= InstructionsPath= TVAdPath= MusicPath= ImageNotFound= WorkingPath=D:\Type X Games\BlazBlue Continuum Shift\ MapKeys=False WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash= ReplaceUnder= Capitals= RemoveBrackets= ShowDesktop= Debug= MAPFile= AlsoLaunch= Command=""[rompath]\[romfile]"" LaunchBefore= LaunchAfter= configFile= ExcludedFiles= NOTE: You really probably dont need to use this to launch BBCS if you edit the advancedconfig to wait for game.exe to end before returning to Gameex.. bbcs.zip

Demul does not need a loader any more. You will need the newest build 0.56 and in the command line you specify the system. -? -h -help give this help -version give about -listxml list roms & bioses in ClrMame XML -listroms print games list -run=<name> run specified system (dc, naomi, -rom=<romname> run specified system rom -customrom=<fullpath> run specified system customrom Demul.exe -run=naomi -rom=[rom] Should work from Gameex
