  1. Is there still a Dreamcast in there somewhere?!? Looks fabulous!
  2. Using PS3 controllers with the adapter requires a couple of extra steps. Trust me... very easy and won't take more than 3-4 minutes to do. Only have to do it once as well. EDIT: I used Method 2 as described in the readme that came with the install link above: There's a graphical walkthrough on how to do this and when you reboot again DSE is turned back on.
  3. I think I used the art I have for my GameEx setup. I just had to rename a couple of covers due to the way RetroArch handles naming conventions. Everything has artwork though. Felix has the right idea. If you don't have the artwork go with EMUmovies. $14.80/ea if you buy 2 or more (this is the exact auction where I got mine): https://www.ebay.com/itm/8Bitdo-USB-Wireless-Bluetooth-Adapter-Nintendo-Switch-Ps1-Windows-Mac-Raspi-Pi/283547363470?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  4. I use this OTG Adapter and it works great. I am running a 128GB Sandisk Cruzer USB drive and still have room to spare. Lastly - and most important - I purchased a pair of 8bitdo Bluetooth adapters so I can use my PS3 controllers (or my SNES 8bitdo controllers... or my 8bitdo arcade stick... or my XBox controller... most bluetooth ones work!) The 8bitdo bluetooth adapters were $15 each used and the OTG adapter was $2.80 on eBay. I already have a large amount of USB thumb drives at hand and obviously the selection of controllers were already onhand from my Raspberry Pi builds. SO... for me I paid $52.80 for my console and all the fixings. For the use I get out of it I think I hit a sweet spot in terms of cost vs value/return. And it was STILL cheaper than a Pi 3B setup once you price that out as well. (Don't get me wrong. I love my Pi setup and it still has a permanent home in the living room entertainment center.)
  5. If Walmart gets them in I will be putting one on layaway. I'll be able to make payments and get my 10% discount.
  6. I've got 3 of these already running. My son has one, I have one and this one will go to my daughter. Plus they're still working on the firmware upgrades and emulation. Hell just using it for a Playstation system with 100's of games it'll be worth it!
  7. That's a damn good price. I'm sorry i missed it. I would have picked up a 3rd one and modded it for my daughter's house.
  8. My absolute favorite thing about the Dreamcast is 4 player Worms. Yes it has a great library beyond that but... 4! Player! Worms! Partaaaay!!
  9. This would be the only one I would pick up. Star Wars has been hard enough to play via emulation because of controls. The cabinet has a yoke installed and - if indications are true - it is an analog controller and not digital. Can't wait to see more info on it.
  10. I learned that a long time ago working for Zebra. I was afraid to take the job at first because I thought my soldering skills sucked. Turned out all anyone really needs is the RIGHT solder tools. Flux, de-solder ribbon, temperature controlled solder irons - it all makes a huge difference. EDIT: Also WELL VENTILATED WORK STATIONS! Whew is that necessary!
  11. Fabulous! Thanks for the fix on this - works great now. Appreciated.
  12. This is still an issue for me. Just throwing it out there. I'm at a brick wall on this one.
  13. Took me long enough but I finally modded my PS Vita. I will say that after going through all this it's almost not worth the bother. Positives - Easy to do. Vita library is a good one. PSP emulation is perfect. NICE screen compared to the PSP. Negatives - RetroArch for the Vita sucks. Vita hates to connect to PC via USB which means SLOW transfers for me. RetroArch for the Vita sucks. Sony proprietary memory cards are expensive (though there are alternatives out). RetroArch for the Vita sucks. The Vita library is great and has a ton of RPG games and many other great games to play. That alone would make it worth the hack IF that was the goal. The PSP is such an awesome portable emulation system - not to mention the PSP library is top-notch to this day - that I had high hopes for the Vita. Enter RetroArch.. It looks like RetroArch for the Vita hasn't moved since August 2017. It shows. Laggy, clunky and very non-intuitive. Once you get a game running it runs fine but you have to GET there. There's no way - for example - I could hand this to my grandson and say "Here. You'll love this!" I'm not above torturing my kids and grandkids but even this seems cruel to me. My solution is kind of a "chewing gum and duct tape" solution but works well enough for me. As I mentioned above the PSP emulation is 100% accurate. I haven't seen a thing yet that didn't work right. So what I did was copy all the PSP emulators from the PSP memory stick and write them to the Vita under the PSP emulation. Ghetto right? It works though. Works better than the current scene stuff that's stagnant. So overall: is it worth buying a Vita if you don't have one yet? Not really. My PSP still does everything and works great 12 years going. If you already have a Vita it'd be worth it I guess for the more vibrant screen and the Vita library. Just don't count on the Vita to handle ANY emulation. Install Adrenaline and emulate through the PSP emulator. LOAD THAT VITA TO PLAY PSP TO PLAY SNES DAWG!!!
  14. That thread is one of the few I found that showed the same error however his resolution was with XPadder. I did read through it because of the error box but I don't believe it's tied to the same thing. I haven't installed anything except Windows 10, updates, Stella for Atari 2600 and GameEx. No plugins at all. That's it. Literally. I did forget about the LAV codecs. Its been a LONG time since I have done a clean, brand new, shiny install. However - no effect. @tthurmanI downloaded and ran the NET Framework Repair tool - no change. GameEx.ini log.txt
  15. I recently installed a new copy of GameEx on an HP EliteBook 2760p I snagged cheap. I have done a complete install/uninstall/install cycle like five times now. It's only one problem but it is consistent. It has nothing to do with the GameEx program per se - the Setup Wizard keeps crashing on one specific page. I can usually get out of these things myself but this one has me a little "wall climb-y"... I managed to just go around the page in question and GameEx runs fine BUT there's some settings I want to play with there. HP EliteBook 2760p i7 processor w/ 8GB RAM. Windows 10 Pro fresh install. GameEx installer downloaded just today - I believe it is dated April 9th. Based on previous posts I verified NET framework is installed as well as DirectX 9.0c. Picture is listed below. Setup crashes anytime I go into "HTPC/ Multimedia Settings". Here's the full text of the error box:
  16. When i play redemption games I stick to the Ball Drop game shown here. Of the 5 balls Funspot uses 2 of them are the same weight. I never walk away with less than 1000 tickets on maybe $3-$4. Mechanical owns digital every time.
  17. I've had one for a month or so now. I love it. Not for what it is out of the box but what it does with RetroArch and BleemSync. :) I personally would have paid $50 for it (but I got one as a present).
  18. 4 in my immediate area: - Hidden Network - PEN15 - Why Not Zoidberg - I CAN HAZ LAN
  19. This is a 3-trip minimum when I go to New Hampshire. I own 2 weeks of timeshare in Ashland so I get to go a lot. It is really something to see. EDIT : Here's one of my 2015 trips!
  20. I've played EverQuest since 2001. I met some great people playing that game but by 2005 I was burnt out and quit (first of MANY times I have left and gone back). During that time I got very close to Knarra Warriorkitty. We talked a lot. I called her 2-3 times a week right up to last year. She got very sick and it changed her outlook. She - gently - disconnected from all her non-physical friends, her Facebook list dropped by 300+ people and she stopped posting to forums. I do not judge her decision since I know how she thinks. This is just something she had to do. My wife and I still exchange emails with her on occasion - maybe once a month and birthday/Christmas - and I will always consider her a close friend. But wow... 15 years of close friendship from a bunch of pixels is something special. You never know when or where or how it'll happen in your life so treasure it.
  21. Preface: I already have it so not me. Talisman is an awesome board game as is Ticket to Ride. Like Ticket to Ride this is MUCH better as a video game. Too many pieces to play with, pick up and track. This is a nice giveaway the person who gets it will love to have.
  22. It took me a minute to see it how you're seeing it. I mentally blanked out his right leg and then his left arm fell into place as his body, feet and "other" appendage.
  23. WIP actually
