  1. Hey when the cancer finally catches up with me I'd rather go this way playing - what else? - SKYRIM SPECIAL EDITION VR ++ NOW WITH NEW HORSE SMELL RE-RELEASE 5! Screaming "Fus Ro Dah" the whole way down the dragon's gullet!! Sidenote - I don't have cancer but it runs in my family heavily.
  2. I love all the old footage.
  3. I have had my deck for about a month now and I think it is OK for Steam games. A bit underpowered for current games but I enjoy it. Most of my library on Steam was free or Humble Bundle cheapness and nothing is newer than last year at best. I have played Skyrim SE, Bookworm, Plants vs Zombies, Worms Armageddon, Defender's Quest, Memoir '44, The Four Kings Casino and Slots and Talisman Digital Edition with no issues. Unfortunately Ticket to Ride will not let me log in at all so all you can play is solo games. I installed EmuDeck and have had great success with the emulation through Dreamcast. PS2 is still too spotty to call good. I installed Emulation Station on top of EmuDeck and added it to my Steam library so it's integrated pretty well - looks like it belongs in the game list! Last night I installed Bottles and used that to install Ur-Quan Masters v.0.8.0. It has an option to add it to the Non-Steam menu but it will not launch from there. You have to go into Desktop mode and then launch it from Bottles. Beyond that hiccup it runs flawlessly. (UQM has linux installers but they are outdated and just didn't work for me hence the WIN installation.) I am exceptionally impressed with the Steam Deck overall. I just wish it had a longer battery life. Some games drain the hell out of it. For that reason alone I'm STILL not ready to retire my PSP 1000 yet! Someone get Todd Howard on the phone and tell him to get off his ass and release the PSP port of Skyrim to us!! Damn it! 🤣
  4. So am I... I'm just not as fun!
  5. I'm in. Nope. Don't care what's on it or what games it is copying/emulating/covering/imitating... I'm in.
  6. "Playing with a joystick is fun"?
  7. My laptop is running 16.90 so I would have to guess something similar or earlier. OK holy sh.... Wow.... I feel like an ass. I booted the Qosmio laptop to check the version and it is 16.90... but it's doing the same thing? I just never noticed it before maybe? I usually boot up the PC or laptop, play a few games then ESC out of the system before shutting it down. When I noticed the problem with my arcade cabinet I was resetting my Tankstick controls so I went through every menu option. Now I can't honestly say how long this has been happening... I'm sorry but I have no idea. I'll just have to live with it or swap I guess. I am sorry I didn't noticed sooner. I DO know, however, that this used to work flawlessly. Like I said above I have used this theme since about the time you released it. The only time I had an issue was when it was doing the black backgrounds last year - in fact I think 16.89 or 16.90 is what fixed that. EDIT: Just a thought. I repair PCs but I am no programmer so this would mostly be a question and not a suggestion - but maybe this is a Windows issue? Some update they did with the OS recently? ADD SPECS: Laptop is running an i5-2430M with 8GB RAM and a GTX 560M all of which is also fully updated.
  8. GPU, Windows 10, motherboard drivers and the NET 6 mentioned above. All yes.
  9. Done. Nothing changed. I don't get this. I'll probably just have to change the theme. Just love the SI HD theme - I've had it since release.
  10. For the record 18.04 is still behaving the same way.
  11. This looks pretty good. The only downside is I seem to have missed the "good" sale (unless it is upcoming). Steam is showing 15% off for the complete edition but regular price for Tales from Candlekeep: Tomb of Annihilation.
  12. I'm not at home at the moment (vacation week) but I can double-check the themes again and see what gives me trouble. I am almost 100% sure, though, that the list above is accurate. As for the types of themes I have to rely on your creation experience since I never made one myself.
  13. I was lucky enough to get a pair of 1660ti systems (desktop and laptop). These cards are expected to be capable along the lines of the 1060 6GB card which, in itself, is still a workhorse of a card for most games. If I see something along the lines of retail to sub-retail on a more current card I may jump on it but it would have to be a significant upgrade. If you're sitting on a card that's below the GTX 1060 then keep your eyes open otherwise wait. You'll get a deal down the road. As Draco said the chip shortage first and then the shipping issues on top of that are still very much a thing and very much still in play.
  14. Yes PC is clean. I run MalwareBytes and AV scans regularly and I initiated one as soon as I suspected something was up. Nothing I don't expect to see in Task manager. I also deleted and downloaded the themes again. On top of that I shut down Battle.net, Epic Games Launcher, Steam and, just because, Daemon Tools. I also shut down the internet to test if that was causing something to slow down. Nothing is running behind the scenes that shouldn't be. Yes I did that as well since you suggested it last week. Any time GameEx wants to load the main menu (HOME) - including initially loading it from the desktop (which I am sorry I forgot to add) - takes 20-22 seconds to load. All submenus load quickly and cleanly in under a second.
  15. Will give it a run through this weekend.
  16. Update: I installed 18.05 and had the same results listed below. Logs have been attached from 18.05. I got everything back to normal and fully updated to the newest software. I never had this problem before this week. My system specs: Intel i5-6400 CPU @ 2.7GHz 16GB RAM nVidia GeForce GTX 950 2GB Windows 10 Home GameEx 17.22 (Now 18.01) (Now 18.04 5/18/2022) (Now 18.05 5/21/2022) Draco's Space Invaders Theme (both normal and HD) All times listed are from the stopwatch on my iPhone My issue is in transitions - specifically going from a sub-menu to the main menu. Here's what I have observed: I load GameEx to the home menu and then select MAME. It comes right up to the sub-menu for MAME. Now I select ALL MAME GAMES and that list loads almost immediately. When I hit back and return to the MAME menu it also loads immediately. However when I hit back again to go to the Home menu it takes 21 seconds to load. I load Emulated Games and it loads right up to my console list. I select Atari 2600 (for example) and it loads right up. Select BACK and the console list comes right up. I hit BACK again to go to the Home menu and it takes 21 seconds. To shorten this ... any menu I select from the Home menu and then return it takes 21-22 seconds to load. This also applies to selecting HOME from the menu at the top. EDIT: Well ... after I wrote this I tried a few more 1920x1080 themes - ExNano is sluggish everywhere, Hexed acts the same as above BUT Retro Arcade HD and Pure GameEx run perfectly. Also the basic themes included all seem to run fine. I'm confused. 2nd EDIT: Just for clarification I just did a new install last night from scratch thinking it was related to my restore efforts so this is brand-y new. 3rd EDIT: Updated to 18.01. Same behavior. 4th EDIT: Updated to 18.04. Same behavior. 5/18/2022 5th EDIT: Updated to 18.05. Same behavior. 5/21/2022 log.txt GameEx.ini
  17. I honestly think I have gone through this line by line but I can't see anything obvious. I'm going to go full install tonight or tomorrow. My backup on the arcade cabinet is older than my grand daughter. Silly me... EDIT: I was just about to wipe the files out and I noticed this little nugget below. This file is awesome! I don't know how I missed it in the directory. It was 4 months old but everything is back the way I had it. Hopefully this helps someone in the future.
  18. Going to bump this once and see. I'm getting the feeling an .ini delete or full install is in my future. TIA.

  20. So I added a game to my Atari 2600 list but I forgot and had originally set "Hide Update List" to YES and set my filter to only show ".a26" files so I needed to make a couple of simple adjustments. So I went in and set "Hide Update List" to NO and made the rom filter ".a26, .bin". Simple right? Well I realized I like to use my scrolling mouse but that changes settings if the cursor is over a setting ... so I have no clue what I changed. Loading GameEx now makes it go directly to my Atari 7800 game list which I think is EMU_2, there's no longer a menu at the top and I cannot back out (hitting BACK loads the exact same screen). It's like Atari 7800 is all that exists and it goes right for it. I'm just hoping it's something simple I am missing and I don't have to reinstall. GameEx.ini log.txt
  21. All here as well. Gaming PC, gaming laptop, tablet laptop, arcade cabinet (all 3 use XBox Gamepass, Epic Store, Steam, EverQuest), PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, XBox One, XBox 360, Nintendo Switch, Sega Dreamcast, Nintendo Gamecube, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Wii U, 3x Raspberry Pi setups, 2x PS Classic modded setups, Sony PSP, Nintendo DSi, N64, iPad Funny thing is they all get use at one point or another. Granted some may go months without being touched (basement setups especially in the winter do not get use - no heat down there) but I can honestly say that everything gets used at some point throughout the year.
  22. So Intellivision Lives! on the DS sucks huh? Bad aspect ratio, poor to non-existent collision detection, controls are all wonky. I - like many, MANY people - am extremely disappointed with that title. If you're one of those people and just happen to own a jailbroken DSi then check out the Nintellivision emulator. I just went ahead and upgraded my DS Lite to a DSi to make sure everything runs at full speed. Cloudy Mountain and Tarmin run perfectly!! Actually almost everything does but I wanted those 2 games specifically out of the Intellivision Lives! cartridge and I am disappointed no more. Portable AD&D Tarmin. Yeah baby!
  23. Space Invaders nod at 4:30 - very nice! I'm not a shooter fan but I know a lot of people are and this would go over nicely with them. Well done!
  24. Tomb Raider GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION -100% $19.99 $0.00 Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition -100% $39.99 $0.00 Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration -100% $29.99 $0.00 Nice!
