  1. If you feel it might be useful to have at the ready, here is great Getting Started guide created by member stryker.
  2. No problem I've uploaded it to the download section as we had a surge of people with this problem last time and it may get lost in the forum if it happens again. You can find it HERE.
  3. 69 downloads

This is a fixed history.dat for MAME 0.153 that re-introduced the "CarnEvil bug". If your Update List process halts at the "C" games, particularly at CarnEvil, this will likely fix your issue. Remember to Update List once you have replaced the file.
  4. HiScore Update: Anteater - Yung-Jedi chomps his way into 1st place with a tasty 70K+! http://goo.gl/w2iSxt

  5. That's a nice lead you got yourself there! I believe your shiny new title gives you access to the GameEx Online Beta too, so if you haven't tried GE yet then now may be the time If you are not aware we have our own RSS feed, so you can view the highscores right there in GameEx *Updated OP, DB, RSS. Edit by GC: Updated LB
  6. The CarnEvil bug is indeed back. Snip from 0.153 history.dat: Jacob and Lisa take 2 [shotgun|shotgun's] from the shooting galleryThe | character is what seems to halt it. I've attached a new history.dat for you to try. Last time it worked for some and not for others so maybe there is more to it. history_0.153_fixed.zip PS: Yes we do dates backwards to you folks in the States
  7. Seeing as it has gone quiet: Points: 23,546,530 (All Clear) Initials: DAZ Mode / Difficulty: Original Ship: Wish Still making lots of silly mistakes And the replay in case you're curious (remove .txt): replay4.dat.txt *Updated OP.
  8. You could set it up in an emulator slot and enable "Treat as 1 PC Game". Then you will be able to use an advanced config.
  9. This is turning into all-out war between you three! It's fun to watch! *Updated OP, DB, RSS. Edit by GC: Updated LB
  10. Only someone who has played it will understand, but how mighty does Break Mode, especially Double Break make you feel! As soon as you hear that sound you get shivers down your spine and you feel like a god! i even get it when i watch the vid in OP lol i LOVE it!
  11. Red and yellow and pink and green... Liking the new color you mods are sporting it's a bit snazzy!
  12. just warming up hehehe trust me, if MO chose this as his game, you ain't seen nothing yet! I wish i could give you some tips, but they would only be on how i play the game. So i'll tell you what i know. No matter your ship preference, you're probably better off choosing "Laser Type". Why? Bosses. Plain and simple. DDP has nasty bosses. If you can't get rid of them quickly, you're in for the fight of your life! Remedy=Laser Learn to navigate/survive the rest of each stage then unleash all hell on them bosses. And remember your bombs - it's better to use a bomb than lose a life, although DDP will punish you score-wise for using them, it will punish you more for dying. There are other mechanics in play but i wouldn't concern yourself too much with them to begin with Just STAY alive!
  13. @MO - Thanks for relighting my DDP fire I've been suckered in by all the pretty lights of more recent Cave titles and neglected this for too long. Still a little rusty but this'll do for now: Keep missing teh bees/wasps! gotta get em all... *Updated OP, DB, RSS.
  14. Congrats! Welcome to teh orange and all that comes with it
  15. LOL well, if you enjoy playing them it's all that matters Though you may want to try your hand at BWRP first - this game (Crimzon Clover) really is brutal. I'm not just trying to emphasize that it is hard, it is downright cruel! You know when you see a kid pulling the legs off an insect? Well that's how it makes you feel, only you're the insect, and the kid is called Damien I'm sure Ex will back me up, even though it's probably a walk in the park to such a player The thing about most bullet-hells though (this one not included) is that they look a lot harder than they actually are to an inexperienced player BWRP especially is very forgiving Give them a chance though and eventually you come to a zen like moment when everything falls into place, and a whole new world will open up to you
  16. I would love to get a high score thread going for this in The Arena, but i think it'll just be us two playing it Maybe when it's released on Steam some folks here will get it. Who knows. Nice Break Rate btw!
  17. Nicely done! And yes, if it's one thing we know about Ex is that he doesn't stay lower than 2nd for long - so enjoy it while you can! *Updated OP, DB, RSS.
  18. Grats! And do play! You'll be smitten i'm sure
  19. "it's a guy on a buffalo-oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo" I'm starting to worry bout your use of free time LOL "he put a stove on ya foot, ouch..." "the guy on a buffalo-ooooooooooooooooooooooo....."
  20. Yes, image box 1 will always show snaps & vids (vids first, then snaps if no vid) and image box 2 will always show titles first, then box i believe. As u-man said, if you want to always show boxart instead, just point to them in the Title Snap Path of the emulator section. If you are using Krakerman's theme you will then always get your boxart on the left and your vids/snaps on the right

    PC Goes Pop!

All this and yet i'm still using a generic no-make 650w PSU i bought 6 years ago in a sale for £30 i couldn't even give you the brand of it without opening my case. Go figure.
  22. @Rich - updated to your last score so it is recorded - look forward to your latest *Updated OP, DB, RSS.
  23. Too right, we have a similar saying in UK - "he's a machine"
  24. Hi Arjan and welcome to the forums! My PinballX knowledge is somewhat limited, however what you describe could be the result of a firewall permission auto-blocking a process. I would check that neither PinballX, Visual Pinball or any of their related processes have been blocked by your firewall. In most firewalls you have a certain time frame to respond to an alert, and if you missed it the first time your firewall will most likely have auto-blocked the process. In the case that this might have happened, loading your firewall and giving all the mentioned processes full access may solve your issue. If not, you're in good hands here
  25. How the heck murve got that 2mil i'll never know My measly attempt: *Updated OP, DB, RSS.
