  1. That screen is an overlay, and is not in any way dependent on the layout below it. If he were to do something with it, maybe put it in a popup like the descriptions are, idk.
  2. Get Metadata is only an option for the jukebox afaik...
  3. I'll have to look and see whats on sale before I comment in this. I just sold some vinyl and got a hundo in my PayPal burning a hole in my ePocket... But generally, I stick to Humble Bundles. Of course I'm pretty new to the whole Steam thing in general.
  4. I'd be willing to jump in, but TBH my time is extremely limited. I generally don't spend much time playing my cabinet. :'(
  5. Isn't there a 'not yet played' mame list in GameEx?
  6. The plugin has been updated to 1.0.7! Here's the rundown: Adds full integration with GameEx's play count, last played, and favorites statusSupports both MDB and DB3 formatsMore status information has been added to the pluginPlease be sure to extract the whole zip, the two DLL's inside will be required from this point forwardFixed a problem where status was not being updated when GameEx was exited using GameEx OnlineAdded additional logging for support issues should they ariseAs I stated, the GameEx database is now fully integrated. You will notice your last play time, favorites status, and overall play count are current when you launch the game. I did some php coding to manually add to the play count if you play multiple times in one session, since the physical database only updates when GameEx exits (I assume Tom stores it in memory until then). You will also notice that the plugin will report the version you are using and notify you if an update is available in your User CP. I did a bunch more work on the site also, including play history on your User CP, and some various CSS stuff. Make sure you do a hard refresh on the page to reload the new CSS. I also went ahead and added some code to skip any users with tags that haven't uploaded any data to the server yet, and capped the limit at 10 tags per page. The most played games count is an overall count, and will display your top 20 for now. I'll probably make a spot for your top 10 overall, and then do a spot for the last 10 you played based on the new data I recieve from the plugin, as soon as I get cracking on the user stats page. Then I'll keep working on the Hi-Score page, which is coming along but not quite ready to be released to the public. Soon. That's it for now, I'll be back at work on the site for a while. Grab it from the first post. And please, if you use the plugin, update ASAP. It's lame seeing all those 'unavailable!' spots on the new data fields. Enjoy!
  7. Wow @ that Jay-Z riff! Lol!
  8. It seems that way at first, but the score is recalculated every time a user submits a score. A new player could jump in with a few hi scores and be right up in there no problem. Consistent game play is key, users come and go and don't always defend hi scores, and that makes the scores drop. All you gotta do is start submitting scores, you'll be surprised how fast you climb the ladder.
  9. Updated to 1.0.5! This is mostly due to a fix pointed out by MNMax21, but I also added a new feature for checking the master database online instead of downloading a server generated text file, which should make things happen much faster than waiting for the script to catch up. Plugin now checks online for games instead of downloading a local listThis keeps the list up to the second a game is entered instead of waiting for the server to update the game listIf no connection to the request site is made, override mode is used to capture snapsFixed a bug where Snow Bros was not being found in game listSmoothed out some code that detects key presses and takes snapsMoved the snap folder for temporary MAME snaps to the user's %temp% folder, keeping things tidyGet it from the first post.
  10. If only what I do could be measured in half hours... I have written thousands upon thousands of lines of code for GameEx.... And I wouldn't take a single char back. I love what I do, and I love it here. Although you probably don't hear it enough... I appreciate all contributions, especially when it's for the greater good and the support of the GameEx community. People like you are exactly the reason I feel like I could never turn my back on this community. Youre a needle in the hay stack, and a real asset in my book. Projects like yours are exactly what drives me to continue, no matter how pissed off I get. There are a handful of people I would literally go to the ends of the earth for, even though I've never even met them. To me that's as huge a spoonful of gratitude I can offer anyone, both IRL and here. Frankly, I care about and respect more of my GameEx friends than anyone I know IRL... Sad as that may be. Keep on keeping on. Youre a true inspiration to us all.
  11. PS: I know how ya feel bud. I get around the lack of support by remembering that most everything I do is for the love of the hobby. Sure, there are members who take and never give. Then you have members who demand and offer no support (ie configs & log files), and you have members who bitch, bash, and quit at the first little mistake our if something didn't behave exactly like they want it to without any sort of trying. And then, there's that one member. You know, wiling to help, understanding, and even appreciative. But i do it anyway. Not for the people, but for me. To give back to the other devs that work so hard to make this hobby great and fall into the same trap I do over and over again. You see, if I can help someone else by releasing something in my spare time, I'll do it because I love to help. Even if it serves no purpose for me personally. If I can make my system operate better with my abilities, I'll share it. Even if no one seems to care. For every thanks you get, there's probably 50 you never hear. If a user needs an enhancement to something I make to get it where they want it, i'll do it. Even if I'll never need it. You just need to remind yourself that it's often a thankless job, but if people benefit, thats a huge reward in itself. /end psychobabble
  12. I'll be taking a few days off, hopefully you guys are in good shape right now anyways. I have some new features coming soon, but I just had my wisdom teeth extracted and I'm gonna take some time off and actually play some games while I recover... I have quite a few steam games i'd like to get into that I haven't even touched yet. So far in the next release I have added plugin version checks to the cp, streamlined the history a great deal, and am working on getting play counts from GameEx's db3 file. I plan to add a new page to view full history info instead of just your top 20. Then I will make a proper hi-score page with overall standings for all users, and finally finish the theme uploader and add user customized titles instead of admin only ones. After that I will do the instant message system, and probably put up a chat board on the main news page. I am probably gonna recruit another admin in the near future also to help me maintain the site while I catch up on my other projects (game info and mame commander most notably), so expect that sometime here soon. I would like to take this public once Evolution comes out, so I've got a lot of half complete features to finish up. So if there are any reasonable suggestions, now is the time to think about them.
  13. Try setting up a global escape combo under input settings.
  14. That has been fixed. Have a look now.
  15. Ahh good call. I have some code in there that makes it so only the ones looking can see it if their username is in the hs db. I'll fix that in a few. Good catch.
  16. Okay, so here we go... Hi-Score integration done. You can also see your standings in the cp. http://tags.hfc-essentials.com/gametag.php?user=Adultery
  17. I play this for sure, but unfortunately I don't need a script in my setup. It's pretty awesome that you have gotten this far though.
  18. Gameex currently doesn't support a custom Steam bg, but this will be adressed in Evo.
  19. Happy birthday, old bean! Here's one for you!
  20. It's not a theme restriction as much as a limitation of the software.
  21. The buttons are their own entity, and need to be a certain size to appear properly. Your best bet is to use the existing ones as a canvas and overlay your own graphics.
  22. If you're not opposed to setting it up as an emulator instead, see here.
