  1. Good spot @RedDog! Those packs don't contain full ROM sets, needed BIOS files, etc. You definitely need a full set. That would only contain what had changed between versions of MAME, most of which are most likely clones anyhow, which won't help if you don't have the parent ROMs.
  2. Just at a quick glance of your log file, maybe adjust your ROM paths so they don't have spaces in them. Also is that an official MAME build our a custom compile/different version? The exe for vanilla MAME is usually named mame64.exe The update list option is towards the bottom of the MAME list in GameEx (before the game list comes up).
  3. Been a while, time for an update I guess! I have probably fixed some bugs before I ran optimization on the code, I don't have the release notes for 1.1.5 or 1.1.6 but I'm sure I did something important back there! LOL
  4. A nice little update that makes use of some new MAME functionality to send the F12 key without need of a custom compile, and a bunch of optimizations and code cleanup. Check it out!
  5. I personally stuck to the 360 controller since I already have like 12 of them thanks to my kids wanting new colors all the time. I just can't justify the purchase. I'm interested to hear some GX testimonials though.
  6. Big update after a long winter's nap... :)
  7. Thanks for testing @B2K24. This is fixed and an update will be available shortly.
  8. Ahh it stops at user account verification... Bet that is related to the server move Tom did. I'll have a look.
  9. Is your X drive a mapped network drive? What happens if you use the UNC path in your runitgame.bat? Just a hunch, I use UNC paths for everything nowadays. My GameEx install never had a problem with mapped drives before I made the switch, but I'd still try that to see if it makes any difference.
  10. Well I got mine yesterday and I dig it!! I probably wouldn't have felt that way if I spent $50 on it, but for that price, I love it so far.

  12. I'll take another look at your files tonight after I get home and see if your CL works for me. I'll holla back.
  13. Right in time for my summer sale purchases! Thanks @Tom Speirs!
  14. If you're doing any kind of drawing to the screen it's possible I suppose... I would start with RAM tests, that's the most likely and cheapest thing you can do. It couldn't hurt to double check your code... I've had memory leak issues with GameInfo, and ended up rewriting a ton of code to try to fix the issues. Something along the line caught it, because it just stopped happening. I'm sure it was probably switching my forms to show with "using" instead of just loading them into memory and trusting the garbage collection to purge the stuff I'm not using anymore. But I made so many changes, it's hard to say exactly what I did to stop it. I will say my cab would typically run for about a week unattended before it would crash. I've also never had that error exactly, but GameEx might have improved the error messaging since then. I'm fairly certain he switched to SlimDX since then, or at least made some changes to his renderer handling. Hope that helps!
  15. Based on your logs, this is a SlimDX crash. I can say that Quicklaunch doesn't do anything that would result in any kind of D3D errors. I'd make the same assumption that the LED/LCD plugin wouldn't either. I'm guessing either one of your your RAM sticks is corrupt or you have issues with your video card RAM and/or IO buffer.
  16. Any chance it launches from runitgame.bat? I feel like it might be an issue with one of those command-line switches if it runs ok without them outside of GameEx.
  17. In addition to what Todd said, MameWorld has a link to most, if not all of the asset files on their front page.
  18. Woah, I quoted myself somehow.. Intense!
  19. I update every major revision. I just assure I have all the assets in order (catver.ini, history.dat, etc) since the support files need updating too. Then I run the Update List option in GameEx and let it do it's thing. I use the Verify ROMs option, no clones unless better, no pr0n, and no mahjong. Then I wait for a while. I've never had to clear anything out between updates, it's usually pretty accurate for my needs. I've seen people post about missing games, but I've never had that issue really (at least not for games I actually play). It also usually takes me a while to find and manually strip out the gambling games, man I hate those! Hope that helps!
  20. Dang, lots of growing up memories surrounding Pantara tunes. I really am getting old...
  21. Nintendo puts consoles back on top... again. Great read, thanks!
  22. I use LastPass, they have it at work and I got used to it. Absolutely swear by it. It's incredibly convenient having something keep track of my stuff, and it does a great job keeping my work and personal passwords separate. I also use two step authentication (need the code from Google Authenticator every 30 days or in each new device), no one's going to be getting in there anytime soon. My passwords are completely random gibberish generated randomly using their software. Plugs in real nice with all the major browsers. It also works on your Android phone if you're concerned about such things. It's also free for personal use. Give it a go, but stick with it for a couple weeks... The change takes a bit to get used to. You'll never go back to having one password for every site again. I know if for some reason one of my accounts gets hacked, the rest are completely safe. That's worth it just for that peace of mind.
  23. Pass, I read somewhere it doesn't have the horsepower of the AFTV2, which has been a solid Android/RetroArch game rig for me. In comparison, I'd have to give up: -Ethernet port > That's a deal breaker, and I can't consume the one USB port with an attachment. -CPU power > there's enough of a difference to be mildly annoying -SD slot > how can you live on 16GB of internal storage these days? Although the AFTV 2 had 8, the option to use both an SD card and a USB dongle adds another 256 GB to that. I'm not a fan of the Micro USB port, but I could live with it if I had to. And my Echo has better speakers anyhow. I want to like this thing, but Amazon keeps going backwards in specs, and I just don't get why. The AFTV2 is still a better device overall, and cheaper to boot. But that's my opinion, take it with a grain of salt.
  24. I didn't see a response on the iPac/keyboard encoder question.
