Yeah, create snaps is an option for me in emulators. It's right on the top... I use the BlueBox theme.

Does it appear for you in emulators and not MAME? The easy fix for that is to set up as an emulator for this. Otherwise you can do it the long way and go to a MAME DB like MAWS and get them on a per-game basis.

Should just be a simple boolean statement or code block, but I dunno... in other words should be able to code a plugin that does this.

In the interim, you should be able to use the arrow keys to navigate to the exit menu.

I think it handles these differently, because there's an option for creating MAME videos in the GameEx start menu folder. Perhaps that's for snaps too?

Sorry Frequency... To map your keys, just go into the emulator setup and go to "Advanced Config". Select one and edit it. The second tab is joystick mapping I believe. Make your changes and save it to something you'll remember. Then enable it in the emulator.

I think so yeah... He told me that one of the filters was buggy. I'm just not sure which one(s) it is. I just gave up trying to find it and I let all the games display. Eventually I'll figure it out (I hope)!

It doesn't matter where you put the INI file as long as you point GameEx at the folder it's in. It's under the MAME settings I believe. The logo goes in the logos folder, yes. It will display in your MAME menu along with, like, 4 player games, Live, Unplayed, Update List, etc. The ROMs can stay where you currently keep your MAME set. You don't need to change anything there. You're basically making a FAVORITES file/list. GameEx will know the list name for the ROM set you link up to it, so it will display altbeaj1 as "Altered Beast (Japan)" in the Games list. If you want to, you can just give me the names of the ROMs you want in the list and I can make up the INI for you.

You can create custom MAME lists like folders if you will. You set it up like a favorites file for MAMEui. Only one deep though. You can also make an icon for it. I can provide an example if you need it. You can also disable categories through GameEx config that you don't use. I have files set up for game genres. All you do is type in the name of the actual zip file and away you go. The list doesn't support multiple directories though so you would make a list and call it cocktail.ini, do the name line, and add each rom on a seperate line. When I get home I'll post one of mine off the cabinet. EDIT: Here ya go. This is a quick example of a favorites 'folder' with platformers in it. Just make a text file like this and change txt to ini, then point GameEx at it in the Custom Folders line of the MAME settings: [FOLDER_SETTINGS] RootFolderIcon = cust1.ico SubFolderIcon = cust2.ico [ROOT_FOLDER] actfanc1 actfancj actfancr aladbl alexkid1 alexkidd aliens aliens2 aliens3 aliensj aliensj2 aliensu altbeaj1 altbeaj3 altbeas2 Like I mentioned earlier, if you make an icon the same name as the INI and put it in your theme's LOGOS folder, it will display for this category. Hope that solves your problem.

I'm pretty sure you're correct. But it's been a while since I used vanilla MAME though... but the hiscore patch is compiled in so call it an accurate assumption if you will.

I'm always current with my GameEx install... It's been amiss for a bit now.

I bet the option is gone from the theme you're using... Try using a default theme.

I think one of the rom filters is buggy because for some reason no matter what I use for filters all games/versions/regions show up in my list. Something somewhere is wonky for sure.

When that used to happen to me, I would reset the table (F3 I think) and it would come up.

Where do you set that option? In the theme?

You should post that in the feature request thread. I would move it there for you but my mobile IP Board version doesn't allow this and I'm not at home today. It would be better noticed over there however.

This would be awesome! I smell a registered users only feature! This would eliminate the clone listing bug on my machine too. Since we can already do series info it should be doable, no? Add the little flag for each country like emus do and that there is a sweet feature! I'd be willing to work on the map file or db to make this happen if need be.

Only problem I forsee there is the Attract Mode popping up every 15 or so. Can't you just right click the exe and select start minimized? Or maybe that's what Draco was saying?
