I was already using RetroArch on the cabinet, I just started using the cores that work for RA. Up and running in like 5 minutes. The emulators over there are more useful for authoring imho, but the pop ups are nicer. I can look into this for sure, but I'd like to get my cabinet integration finished first.

Well Krakerman just points his theme at the RSS I generate for the high score DB. I could theoretically do the same by system for RA, but it would need to be coded on my server to work over the web. It would be tough to split out GX users over there since I don't know who all has an account over there, but the API can grab data by system. That would be a whole different project.

You want a link to the API? I'm building a dll but it won't be useful to you yet. My cabinet uses it with the Game Info plugin, currently when you load a game it tells you how many achievements there are for it. The bit I'm working on now is going to look at the RetroArch log and watch for you to win an achievement and then show a popup on the 2nd monitor. If I knew how to draw over the top of a full screen app, I could do so much more...

Not currently that I know of but that's a great idea! They have an API, I already scrape it on my cabinet, and was working on a pop up over my Game info plugin off and on as time permits. So there's not, but there might be sometime soon!

It was BlazBlue, and I could only get it to run if I disabled my 2nd monitor. Just tried it. Maybe a non-issue, my set is way out of date.

You calling me fat, fella? Lol! I thought there was a TTX have that needed to flip, but looking at my game list I was wrong. One of these had some display issue though, can't remember what it was. Aside from the rotation I mean.

I use the MAME4ALL core personally, and FBA core for NeoGeo. Runs most things pretty well on either one or the other on my Pi. MAME is just to beefy for my tastes, but I also don't have a massive EHD like Han, and only use hand-picked ROMs. And as if you needed a second endorsement, RetroAchievements are the shizz! Make sure you set it to use verbose logging, you get a notification before you start about how many achievements you have for that game/how many there are (You have 19 of 25 achievements). I follow Han over there, like to see what he's playing. Add me to your friend list, eh? Adultery there too.

Yes.

Are you going to try to tackle screen flipping too? Curious.

If it makes ya feel better, I was the only one in my office who couldn't watch it because of a deadline and I missed it too. Probably won't live to 2027 for the return trip.

Been using this method for a while for my PSP. It's nice for sure, and you can put in game manuals too! For your BIOS issue you mentioned... If you're using the RetroArch core for PSX, you can change that path in the settings and have it point wherever you like (as long as you don't need elevated permissions to access there). You'll probably want to do the same for your saves. RAis pretty open, but you'll need to do that stuff outside of ES... Unless there's some way to launch RA without any cores inside ES that I don't know about.

Happy birthday Freq!!

Brian and Matt (tempest) retired. Not sure about Ben though...

Seen Tool twice, and A Perfect Circle twice also. Both were great, but Tool during the Lateralis tour was quite possibly the best show I've ever seen, up there with Rabbit In The Moon and Nine Inch Nails. I saw Tool during their ænima tour also, but Maynard thought it would be cool to not face the audience for the entire show. Weird dude there. I've seen video of Floyd but never been... I could sit through the political crap for Learning To Fly any day!!

Hmm, Jaguar emulation already came to Android via RetroArch a while ago. At least it did for me! Edit: So they're calling the core buggy, not pretending it doesn't exist... Well it's seemingly playable for the handful of games I tried. Not that I've been pining away for Jaguar support or anything, but still.

Maybe it's permissions? I had the same issue on Arc Browser until I had it create and save the artwork to a different folder (although that's Android, it may still apply). Metadata sticking seems like it's able to write to the db3 but can't create permanent files.

1. Not sure I follow, you mean the download? Or you can't find a configuration? RetroArch is easy to set up, it uses the standard command line (RetroArch.exe "[RomPath]\[RomFile]") and you can download it right from the Libretro BuildBot page. There's a bit more to setup if you don't want to let RA figure out what core to use, but there are probably a hundred threads with how to set it up this way if you search the forum. 2. Play with the option near the top that says "change view", you'll find what you're looking for. 3. Yes, you can re-map hotkeys. It's in the GameEx configuration. 4. Yes, there is an option for this. I can't remember offhand what it's called, I think it's under either display options or inside the emulator. Do a search on the configuration for popup. 5. MESS can do it I think, but no on the help. At least I haven't seen a guide anywhere. Bonus: can you please create separate topics in the future? It's hard to find someone who knows all 5 answers, and I guarantee you the good Intel you get here will get lost. Also you're less likely to get assistance if you have a ton of questions in one post, it's pretty overwhelming.

Although emulators will treat them individually, it won't load them in the right order which is annoying. At least to me.

Does your MAME version match the ROM set version? You'll need MAME 0.153 if indeed your ROMs came from that version.

Funny twist to the story... The kid that stopped the threat that would have crippled millions of computers just got picked up by the FBI today in Las Vegas for some other hacking incident before he started working"for good". Way to go America! Fill those prisons up!! Lol! http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-cyber-arrest-idUSKBN1AJ2IC

You don't have to, but different people are better at different things, so you get answers faster.

As Drac mentioned earlier, this should really be three separate posts, with one issue per thread.
