I've noticed some naming inconsistentencies between the supplied media names vs. the ROM names. Not sure this may be part or not, but something to be aware of if no media loads for specific games.

X-Arcade Tankstick Zero-Lag Tri-Mode PCB Upgrade
Draco1962 replied to Draco1962's topic in Social Club
I updated the original post to include the "DIY" kit that has the same PCB and cables. As for getting around to it... I have too many projects and too many things like life and job vying for the limited hours in the day, so I get that! -
I have noticed for quite a few releases that GameEx stays open as an active Background process after exit as viewed in Task Manager: I have noticed that a new session may occasionally hang and I have seen multiple Background processes and I am unable to launch until both processes are manually ended.

That feature is not enabled as part of GameEx Arcade Edition via the Setup Wizard, only within GameEx (GameEx Setup Wizard vs. GameEx Arcade Edition): @Tom Speirs would need to address why this is removed it from AE Setup Wizard. The option for it still appears within the gameex.ini file. It is possible that the feature is still active and you could try changing the value in CabControlFriendly=False to CabControlFriendly=True in a text editor (Notepad or Notepad++), save the file, then launch AE to see if this works for you. Let us know if enabling it in the gameex.ini works! If it doesn't, see the response below for submitting a Feature Request! I seldom use the Search feature for this reason. I will either go into the emulator of choice or select All Games from the main menu and type (not too fast or slow, but just right) the first few letters of the name. I am not sure if this feature will allow code change or not so probably best to submit a Feature Request here:

X-Arcade Tankstick Zero-Lag Tri-Mode PCB Upgrade
Draco1962 replied to Draco1962's topic in Social Club
A blog post regarding this upgrade X-Arcade Tankstick โ upgrading to Zero-Lag Tri-Mode PCB -
Apparently this control board has been available from X-Arcade for a while: Zero-Lag Tri-Mode PCB Upgrade (PCB ONLY - $40 US) or X-Arcade Build Your Own Arcade Trimode Kit (Includes Cables - $40 US) It replaces the control board within all older sticks and allows the device to output in keyboard, Dinput, and Xinput. For the Tankstick, this is huge as both Player One and Two will appear as two Xbox 360 controllers. Since many frontends and newer emulators recognize these controllers, setup is minimized. Need keyboard inputs for MAME? Slide the switch to convert back to keyboard mode.

You're welcome! Glad to help with a solution! Thanks for reporting back!

And I know that you know that I know...๐๐ผ

I know, Darren. I know. ๐

My guess, without seeing your new gameex.ini file, would be possible that you still have it enabled under External Applications or you have 2 emulator slots enabled for it. Thanks for sharing the vid! Nice guitar BTW!

Can we get the Plugin Setup updated to LEDBlinky 8.2.1? LEDBlinky v8.2.1 - Arcade LED Control Software and Animation Editor This is the latest version and may resolve a few issues with GameEx compatibility. I have tested successfully with Pixelcade integration.

One more thing to investigate would be mapping via console, csv which I came across the name when searching for similar issues: Console.csv not being used any longer? โ Help and Support โ Pixelcade Forum The file is located within the \Pixelcade LED Marquee root folder. More about it here: Customizing โ Pixelcade And here: pixelcade/console.csv at master ยท alinke/pixelcade ยท GitHub

I was able to pull in some of the marques for non-Mame Favorites by copying the logo files I had for them into the \Pixelcade LED Marquee\mame where they displayed (horribly I might add but most are not formatted for LED display). A few did not display but this may be caused by a naming fault - I was not able to locate the Favorites save location/file so will need @Tom Speirs to tell me where to look so I can confirm The fault may still lie with how Pixelcade and/or LEDBliinky is/are not setup to read the GameEx image locations as configured within the GameEx Setup Wizard > Emulator Setup. Pixelcade is dependent upon explicit locations by system names of its choosing and not the frontend,

I have the 128x32 Pixelcade panel. I have yet to fully activate it on my new gaming rig I purchased last summer, nor have I fully installed any emulators outside of the integrated MAME and a few customized Windows-based games lists, but hope to do so soon so I can better troubleshoot issues such as what you are reporting. UPDATE: I was able to get Pixelcade updated on my rig and one thing I did notice is that when scrolled through the list of Favorites (which is mostly MAME entries and a few of the PC games I have installed, the default MAME marquee displays when the scroll highlights the selection. Stay tuned, I have an idea that may be a suitable workaround....

Can you also attach your pixelcade log file? As this may not be all or part of a GameEx issue, have you also reached out to LEDBlinky plugin author Arzoo at http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?action=profile;u=9562 or directly via [email protected] to make him aware of the issue since his plugin is used to leverage LED Blinky?
-
When reporting a potential issue with GameEx, please attach copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files, in addition to your Pixelcade log file (no copy and past or pictures of these files please). Having not seen the files requested above, am I correct in assuming you are using the integrated MAME setup vs. an emulator slot?

[RESOLVED] New install - GameEx Arcade Edition hangs, never launches MAME

Glad to see a solution was found. I would not have thought it to be the LAV filters given the errors presented. Since GameEx isn't behind a paywall any longer, I wonder if you could do so without incurring any licensing issues? -

Not sure it has anything to do with it but sometimes I get lucky. Is there a reason why you are running Windows in Test Mode? Is it possible that the resource access is being hampered when trying to return, thus hanging? Can you test in normal mode?
