  1. I dunno, early? Ok, researched it: Initial release date: 1988
  2. That's cool. Something we should get ported or remade into opensource for retrogamers.
  3. Elephino. Things like that are usually detected automatically during boot up each time. I would imagine if the hardware is compatible it should work. Like, I doubt the Raspberry Pi is capable of such a thing other than running a wire to the actual exposed reset pad on the circuit board. If you're using a standard PC mobo, it's probably down to something like the capabilities of the OS. I know on my PC, it was a jumper I had to switch from OFF to ON, then it worked out of the box via hardware. I don't imagine something like that being restricted due to Linux.
  4. @rtkiii Nope And yes, from one system to literally everything available at the time.
  5. I've never actually seen the Mizer christmas special.
  6. I didn't know that, but I could definitely see it happening. "Hurry up! He's about to unlock the next level in Ms. Pacman and show the new act animation!!" Updated OP, DB, RSS
  7. @stigzler Nope @rtkiii Nope @Adultery Nope Hint -> It's been ported...
  8. I know, but I'm slowly getting familiar with it.
  9. I don't eat fruit cake. Allergic to eggs, allergic to nuts, hate the burn of whiskey. Will never make that. Sounds funny though, I'm a bit of a loser at bringing something fun like this to an immediate halt with realism.
  10. I'm the same way guys. It'll be a nice fun game to play. That's what the competition is all about though; having fun. So have fun, regardless if you're good or not.
  11. Lol that was just a crap shot, I was going to say Tobal next. And that photo.. don't they even know how to spell WELCOME? Wow... Alright, here's one: "Welcome to your doom!"
  12. WTF?! Dude would be in prison if he pulled that in the US. Fined heavily for mistreatment of animals. Funny as all get out though!
  13. Thanks for the tip Mo. I'll give it a browse some time. And thanks for the first submission(s)! Updated OP, DB, RSS
  14. I'm the same way @GeorgeT... just like with Donkey Kong. People say there are recognizable patterns, or ways to manipulate the outcomes. I just play it assuming it's all random. The ghosts do appear to be more attracted to you in this iteration than they did in the original.
  15. GRRR!!! That was my next guess Adultery! Now I have to think of something else. Streets of Rage maybe?
  16. That looks interesting, wtf are all the extra buttons for? Atari only had 1 button, until you get into the Jaguar era with a numpad.
  17. Dudes, I've never played any Phantasy Star games. I need to get my game on. I was going to guess Dragon Warrior myself, another game I never played. Well, "keeping it easy" isn't much help for me. Iron Fist is a well-known Marvel Comics character, but I'm probably thinking way way WAY outside the box here. Fist and Tournament makes me think it's a fighting game. "Easy" makes me think Street Fighter series. But I have no clue which one. Since I'm only allowed one guess until somebody else replies (my own created rule lol), I'll hold off on my next guess.
  18. Updated list to remove selected GOTM Ms. Pacman. Please feel free to continue suggesting more games you'd like to see!!!
  19. Here it is, the December 2016 GOTM! And what a game to close out the end of the year on too. This game was voted by participating members to be the favorite amongst the others in the randomly drawn selection of 6 games. TwinGalaxies, the keeper of arcade game World Records, has no official entry for this game. They do have one for the "Championship Edition" version though. I thought about using that version, but after playing it I decided to just go with the original. There was no difference in how the High Score data was presented, with no added in-game tables or initials screen. So I decided the "Championship Edition" was just going to be too much for our friendly competition. They included a timer, which when it reaches 0 causes you to die, and the last 10 seconds or whatever makes you crawl at a snails pace. Not at all what you would expect. But I can see how using this version on a World Stage would be a nice deviation. But because we're just a cool bunch of people who are doing this for fun, why go to all the trouble? So I created our rules based on the simple setup of the default, first run DIPs. Just play like always, and you're good. Don't make me regret it guys! It's a joyous time of year so don't ruin it!

  21. Sorry for the delay folks. Working retail is crazy around this time of year. I only just now got some free time to log in here and update the threads and announce our winner. Which, coming as no surprise, is none other than: Mame Offender - 217,620 Congrats buddy, you earned it! Stay tuned for our December GOTM! And be on the lookout for our Bonus Game! With a 4-way tie in the November poll, it's up to MO to provide it!
  22. I say new Happs=Cheating. LOL!! Just kidding. I bet anything that if I had an actual control panel instead of a gamepad, I'd probably do a lot better to. Something about the way you play these games just requires you to use a stick and buttons (with your fingers) instead of thumbs. Good job! Updated OP, DB, RSS
