Same with your last Gameex.exe Everything is working within Gameex (MAME, others emus and others functions) Launching MAME within Gameex works fine outside the screen saver It only appears within the screensaver and only with mame games.. Very strange problem..... I've attached my log again but i can't see nothing special in it now BTW : Many thanks for trying to resolve this problem. log.txt

Well, the error doesn't show up in the log anymore, but it is still here Log attached but we can't see anything special Tom how can i disable the Gameex artwork to show up in attract mode? I want to try without but i can't find how With the latest Gameex.exe you provided, the error appears again but Gameex seems to work normally I explain :when in attract mode, i press a button ,then return to the main menu, relaunch attract mode without problem (but the error message is still in background) log.txt

Same issue with your last Gameex.exe I've tried with other groovymame version and with vanillia mame-> same issue Could it be related to Bezel or Gameex artwork within attractive mode??? I'll try disabling them.
-
Same issue for me too It's only MAMe related because attract mode with others emulators works fine Perhaps it has to do with groovymame 0.146 i'm using (upgraded in the same time as 12.62) I'll try a different version and tell you the result
-
Chaskas, do you use groovymame???
-
Thanks for your reply,Tom Same issue with your GameEx.exe Gameex.ini attached I hope it helps GameEx.ini

Same problem here since 12.62. I'm on XP Pro When attract mode start, i've an error message from XP : Game ex has crashed..... and after about 30 seconds, it return to the Gameex Menu and the attract mode no longer start again Never had the problem before since 2 years of use of Gameex I've tried to do a manual install of the 12.63 -> same issue In the windows problem report, it's mentionned " system.nullreferenceexception" Dunno what is this.. The Gameex log file is (just the end as we can see the error here) : 22:01:41.7 04/06/2012: Restoring Emulator from Cache: 23 22:01:41.8 04/06/2012: Restoring Emulator Database From Cache: 23 22:01:42.2 04/06/2012: Restoring Emulator from Cache: 24 22:01:42.2 04/06/2012: Restoring Emulator Database From Cache: 24 22:01:42.4 04/06/2012: Restoring Emulator from Cache: 25 22:01:42.5 04/06/2012: Restoring Emulator Database From Cache: 25 22:01:42.6 04/06/2012: Restoring Emulator from Cache: 27 22:01:42.7 04/06/2012: Restoring Emulator Database From Cache: 27 22:01:43.0 04/06/2012: Restoring Emulator from Cache: 29 22:01:43.1 04/06/2012: Restoring Emulator Database From Cache: 29 22:01:54.9 04/06/2012: Exception occured running Attract Mode 22:01:54.9 04/06/2012: La référence d'objet n'est pas définie à une instance d'un objet. 22:01:54.9 04/06/2012: à GameEx.GameEx.mainform.BypassDisclaimer(Int32 ProcID, String RomName, Boolean CheckForCredit) 22:01:54.9 04/06/2012: à GameEx.GameEx.mainform.c(Boolean A_0) 22:01:54.9 04/06/2012: Shutting down RawInput Hook 22:01:55.3 04/06/2012: Mouse Input is disabled 22:01:56.2 04/06/2012: Returning From Attract Mode 22:04:38.5 04/06/2012: 21 Consecutive Exceptions Occured 22:04:38.5 04/06/2012: Erreur de l'application. 22:04:38.5 04/06/2012: à Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D.Sprite.Begin(SpriteFlags flags) 22:04:38.5 04/06/2012: à Direct2D.Direct2d.Surface.Draw(RectangleF DesRect, Rectangle SrcRect, Byte Alpha, Byte Red, Byte Green, Byte Blue, Single Rotation) 22:04:38.5 04/06/2012: à GameEx.GameEx.mainform.DrawGameTextSelected(Int32 x, Int32 y, String textstring, Boolean notrans, Boolean forfade, Boolean forfade2, Boolean overidelscale) 22:04:38.5 04/06/2012: à GameEx.GameEx.mainform.i() 22:04:38.5 04/06/2012: à GameEx.GameEx.mainform.ad() 22:04:38.5 04/06/2012: Trying reinitialising the display after sleeping for 4 seconds 22:04:38.5 04/06/2012: Exception count will be dropped to 15 22:04:42.5 04/06/2012: Mouse Input is disabled 22:04:43.7 04/06/2012: Mouse Input is disabled Thanks EDIT : Full log Added log.txt

Hi I search a way to specify custom loading of WHDload games with WinUAE Loader For example, in the game Toki, if you launch the slave like this : "Toki.slave CUSTOM2=1" , then you're able to play with 2 buttons instead of one On some other games, specifyng arguments "CUSTOM1" or "CUSTOM2" allow you cheats or others improvements in the game. Is there a way to do this with WinUAE Loader or should i have to tweak the game files? Thanks
-
Vizualiser has no problem too With your files replacement, it's the same as before for me I think i will call "THE EXORCIST" . Does anyone have his phone number ?
-
@Tom Here is a simple video about the crash GameExCrash.zip
-
OK Sorry about that mistake about foreign languages. It's surely because i don't have seen a french post since a while.. Or perhaps i didn't have read the rule 10 until the end ...
-
Another frenchy here! I've send to you a PM about your questions PM me if you have some others questions or write only in english here because french is not allowed, only english

Thanks for your proposition Adultery, but in fact, it's not a "vital" feature for me, so i don't want to take your time with this. It's like viewing game manuals or game boxes, i use it time to time, but i prefer playing games, and for this, gameex do his job. If it works, then i will use this feature, as Emumovies have game musics and i will be able to use them. If it doesn't work now, i'll disable this feature. It's more about error reporting than a really need I just hope Tom can fix this problem in a future release Thanks again for your approach
-
As Adultery said, it's not mp3 related because i can play mp3 in jukebox without problem I've set up music folder for others emulators too with the same result For me, it's related to programming, as the feature seems to works for no one. It's like if Gameex doesn't know how to handle the file that we tell him to play (how to play this file) I wish Tom will have a look at this

@AlphUmi : You're right, no problem with ambiance at all, and i'm able to play mp3 files in the jukebox and files in the "game music" folder are mp3 too @Draco1962 : Deleted all files with cache in their names (dbcache files etc), but the problem is still here. I've deleted the line of the ambience file in the ini too with same result Are you using this feature? Does it works for you? Thanks
-
Ok Draco, here they are Thanks It seems there is no mention about the crash in the log file I've tested game music with the Amiga CD32 emulator GameEx.ini log.txt
-
Hi! I've set a directory for "Game Music" option in an emulator config Files in this directory are MP3s When i click on the Game Music option for a game when i'm in Gameex, It just crash and retrun to the desktop What i'm doing wrong.? Is there a special file format to put in the "Game Music" directory like .wav or anything else??, Thanks
-
Ok,thanks for the info,i'll take a look at soft15khz I just wanted to know if someone in the community run Gamex with Win7 and have access to low resolutions for emulators (with or without soft15khz)
-
I've recently upgrade my cab to Win7 X64 to play PCSX2 with DX10 But i've encountered a really big problem : I'm not able to choose a resolution under 640x480 anymore Non interlaced resolutions that worked fine like 640x288 on my TV isn't available anymore (was on XP before) Is this a known problem cause i can't find any solutions on the web? Is just Windows7 unable to work with those resolutions I'm using soft15khz and i just can choose between 640x480 & 800x600 wich are interlaced res. Should i prefer XP64??? Thanks

Feature & Enhancement Requests
Rochabian replied to Tom Speirs's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
Hi, I was just wondering if it waspossible to add such options in radio mode I explain Currently i have attract mode on and it works great, and when i whant to listen to some music, i go to jukebox and select a vizualisatiion, and then the attract mode doesn't interfer with jukebox If i left vizualisation, attract mode go on I like the way it work like this I want to do the same thing with radios. For now if i select a radio to listen, after 2 minutes, attract mode cut the radio I know i can mute emulator sound to keep radio in background but i doesn't work with ALL emulators Or pehaps an option to disable attract mode when listen to radios Thanks -
[RESOLVED] Animated Themes Change Unexpectedly
Rochabian replied to CraftyInstigator's topic in General
I suggest you to read this thread because i had the same problem with latest release I think it will be fixed in the next release http://www.gameex.in...anging-on-load/ Fixed exe is on the bottom -
With your attached file, all is working fine now Many thanks Tom
-
In fact it's partially resolved...... The main problem was resolved but i use a theme with an avi background file, and when i launch a video and then return to gameex, my background avi video is lost, (so the backgroung is blue). And then when i quit Gameex, the processus is still there, it didn't quit correctly Same thing happens with Jukebox Visualizations I use the "COM" theme Hope that helps
