  1. Yes please donate folks. Its truly worth every penny and Tom really puts his heart and soul into this project. Its truly a worthwhile cause to contribute to, with both the support and work the community gives back to GameEx, or the monetary support for Tom for all the work he has done improving this project. I know its appreciated by Tom. Jay T
  2. The site looks good Tom. I'm looking forward to exploring it. May I make a suggestion? Can you put a link back to the GameEx homepage on the forum? I know I can get there through the Spesoft link but I think it would be easier for newbies and such. Everything else looks great. Jay T
  3. Yeah me too. At least for the arcade monitors that were in them. Probably touchscreens too. Jay T
  4. Those are confiscated gambling cabinets in China. The picture is from Time magazine online. There was a picture of it at BYOAC. Heres the link http://www.time.com/time/picturesoftheweek...1412424,00.html Jay T
  5. Heres another really good one: As seen on BYOAC, Mechatron 2154. This is a robotron 2084 clone that is close to the original but updated for todays systems. As quoted from their website "Mechatron 2154 is an ultra-faithful rendition of the definitive arcade shooter that many of us cut our hardcore gaming teeth on: Robotron 2084, by Williams Electronics. There are literally dozens of Robotron clones on the internet, but on this one you will find:- Original ROM level data Local or World Highscores Progressive AI Enhanced sound FX from the original game Enhanced character sprites, animated and rendered in 3D Individual player custom controls, e.g. X-Arcade, PS2 controllers, Keyboard etc. Build you own levels with the easy to use custom level designer and much much more!" I think you guys will really enjoy this one on your cabs. Jay T
  6. Sounds like you need to go to Enable/Disable features of the GameEx config and set disable Escape key to = yes, this will stop GameEx from quitting when you press escape. As far as using esc to navigate the menus, I'm not sure how you had that set up. Jay T
  7. BTW, nice theme Katuuuz. Jay T
  8. Get a room already. Jay T
  9. Updater update. I used the auto update from 8.48 to 8.49 with no error! Yay it works! Thanks Tom. Jay T
  10. Tom I don't know if it was this last update or one of your previous ones, but I can clearly see a big speed improvment in the GameEx menus. GameEx itself seems to be running so much better and faster on my low end, low memory cab setup. Thanks for all the improvements. Jay T
  11. Cool, now we need another update to see how it works! Jay T
  12. When the error came up I opened the details button as seen in the picture. Thats where I copied the error text from. I'm no programmer so I can't make heads or tails of it. I thought you or Tom might be able to deciper it. Jay T
  13. Try update list in GameEx? Jay T
  14. Yeah, don't look too easy to fix. No worries though, I just use the auto update to let me know there is an update. Jay T
  15. I took a screenshot of my error tonight and also copied the text from the error and included my log file for Tom to take a look at if he gets a chance. Maybe he can make some sense of it. The error was from tonight (12th), updating to 8.34 from 8.17. Like I said before though, my system (cab) has only 256 megs of ram in it. I'm guessing thats part of my problem. Jay T error_text.txt log.txt
  16. Whoa, nice spinner Brian, I wish mine looked that pretty. Mine's held together with zip ties and an old coat hanger. Works good though doesn't it? Jay T
  17. Naw, like keywiz shazaaam. Its basically a shift key that changes the profile of my button layouts. With AHK I don't need to shazaaam into any other configuration. Jay T
  18. Nice control panel/cab. You have any pics of your other one? Jay T
  19. Yep, AHK and Gameex is the shiznit. Now if I could only find a use for my shazaaam key. I've found I haven't needed it yet. Jay T
  20. Hers another one that I just discovered although I think its been around for a while (the website says 2004). Hamsterball. If you like marble madness you'll love this one. Plays with keyboard, mouse or trackball. Jay T
  21. I was almost going to tell you that renaming his text file to .ahk wouldn't work for him without actually having auto hot key installed on his system but I see you uploaded exe's instead. Good going. Jay T
  22. I haven't tried that but its a good idea. I'll try it next time to see what it says. Jay T
  23. The auto update in my cab crashes all the time too, but I've chalked it up to having only 256 megs of ram in its computer. Not sure what error message I get but when I do a manual download and install, everything seems fine. My cab is hard wired. Jay T
  24. Good job on the vid. I see you are also using the older version of the Daphne loader. Have you tried the newer beta version 1.0 of Daphne? I am wondering if it is the cause of some people's troubles as it seems that the folks over at Daphne are in cahoots with Digital Liesure now. You can now purchase and download DL, DL2, Space Ace, etc from Digital Liesure using a link in Daphne Loader. Is the new version of Daphne crippled so to speak, to keep people from using bootlegged copies of DL, DL2, Space Ace, etc, etc? I see on the FAQ section over at Daphne that someone asks, "Q: I've used DaphneLoader to auto-download Dragon's Lair, Dragon's Lair 2, Space Ace, or Thayer's Quest. Does a valid DVD have to be in the drive every time I want to play this game? A: No, you only have to insert DVD the first time you want to play the game. The exception to this rule is if you move or modify the files that were created during the DVD authentication process." I, like you, am already using and have set up my Daphne ver .99.7 and it works flawlessly so I have no reason to upgrade, but I thought I might mention this to the very few people that may be using a bootleg copy of these games that the new version of Daphne may not work for them. I of course do not condone the use of said games, but am merely offering a possible explaination as to why their setup may not be working as they thought it should. Jay T
