  1. yeah - Biography, thats the little bugger i was talking about. I know Scumm wont have one as I need HK to update the sysinfo.xml (i did do it for FPinball, but not Scumm as we may all get adrift on the versions) Some are missing on mine - Intellivision, Lynx and others? Hmmm. Will have to check the DB's as they may have not been updated from the various versions of the Editor, or may be missing in Sysinfo.xml... I checked a couple of others and the Biography was present, so it is not GameEx. Hmmm.. HK, should I add the histor... Biography or do you wanna (wiki has a good one on the Scumm engine )?
  2. It will be finished at some point. Cheers for the EGO boost
  3. Aw! Shucks, you're making me blush! (and it clashes with the colour of me teeth )
  4. The "History" tab on v3-4 themes that gives info on the system you are looking at.. Not sure where mine has gone. Looked in the Fridge and under my keyboard, all i found was half a soft onion and a chewed matchstick in the shape of russel brand. (you knew I would have to let my serious face slip for a bit - god, im trying to behave, really i am!)
  5. If anyone is interested, the theme is still progressing. Really happy with the "Scumm" and Atari ST screens and overlays. The ST one was a bit of work as I had to hand-draw the vector artwork for the Encounter overlay. Think it worked out rather nice - if a little over zealous Have not done snaps for some of the others, so not tested overlays, but getting artwork to use on Channel F (remember that Tempest?) and the Astrocade was a bit of a bind. Any comments are always welcome. (Images have been reduced for upload)
  6. as HK said, Asteroid.cfg in the /cfg directory.
  7. oops, I said .ini, thats what happens when you answere at work with no way of checking, and also cause i'm not one of the smarta$$'s i keep hearing about
  8. Its still a loader in my book It enables the loading of games from within GameEx that would not be possible otherwise. And yes, get your dev PC sorted for testing purposes with emus. A good idea that i use under Vista (also fine on XP) is to set another user as "Emu Testbed" and have that organised for GameEx and other stuff. This enables me to have desktop links and a modified start button to help keep my main desktop nice and clean. Also emus like SSF (saturn) sometimes reset all the desktop icons to the top left, really annoying on the main desktop that i use, but no problem on the emu one.
  9. That would be a good idea BK. It does the job of the map file and more (I take it you have tried it?) In your loader, the imported emu settings also point to the map file being in a completely different place to its lcation (the root of the archive), this could cause confusion even though you mentioned to change the paths. One thing that should be noted by anyone using the loader - you must set all your games up in Scummvm FIRST. Go into ScummVM and import the games one by one. Without doing this, the loader will fail to start a game regardless of weather you have set correct paths or not. So, make sure ScummVM is working OUTSIDE of GameEx before posting about problems with the loader. If the loaders instructions are followed, then there is nothing that could possibly cause a problem, great piece of work on HK's parts (good idea with the dummy files).
  10. Check your mame ini directory for either Vector.ini or Asteroids.ini and delete. Per system/game ini's take precedent over default.ini
  11. Please try it for me and let me know what ya think (use db naming, no map) Please can you strike "Colecovision" off on the start page for me... It is done.... (and add and strike scumm ) Nearly finished Intellivision and working through ALL 19,000 c64 (again), nearly done the numbers All the best ol' bean.... PS: XML is upped.
  12. Sorry about that, but it is HK's little baby (one of many - busy boy) and his rules rule! (? bad English) Anywayup, Thanks to HK, I decided to re-visit my love of the point and click (kick) adventure via the wonders of ScummVM and HK's loader - what joy. The only thing missing was a DB to give me the info, years, publishers, etc. So, after many days of toil and pain (well 2 hours ), I present a db for the current ScummVM. With this you can omit the map file in HK's loader and turn on the Database Naming. This will name all games correctly for you "Simon the Sorcerer II: The Lion, the Wizard and the Wardrobe", "Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle" (look at the box), etc. HK: If you want the XML, i can post it to the usual place. TOM: It could be me, but I cannot get "History" to work on any DB? EDIT: Slight update to "Monkey Island" _PC__ScummVM.zip
  13. Don't get me wrong though, much as i like Asteroids, Tempest is a far better game, Just Asteroids (being the first big hitting vector game) is more indicitive of that era.
  14. Regarding B&W vector games, In the latest Retro Gamer Magazine, the final part of the reader survey for the greatest arcade games was published. 4. Asteroids. . . . . 21. Tempest. I wonder if that is because Asteroids is a more ICONIC game...
  15. GameEx will not work correctly with drop shadows or other blending effects. GameEx sadly does not support Alpha channels that are needed to provide these functions. GameEx only supports Transparency functions.
  16. Much nicer than them new-fangled colour things.. Classics
  17. You need to make sure you either have a true black surround for the transparency or have a transparent background (save as png is best). GIMP is a great substitute for Photoshop.. But Photoshop is a better tool with a steeper learnig curve though
  18. This is a combined colour and normal GB db, it may or may not work. You will get some match with colour and some match with B&W as the colour names are the same. Anyway give it a go. Ps. both roms will show up twice as the gb & cg colour names are the same. You would perhaps be best having an emu page for both gameboy & gameboy colour. _Handheld__Nintendo_Game_Boy_Color.7z
  19. Mine crashes on exit too. I have a nvidia 9800 gx2, so it is not a pixel shader issue. Also, it is stated that changes have been made to nulldc to increase the number of running games. Nothing new runs on my set up?
  20. Not it isn't! you just forgot the apostrophe "I'm Berzerk" Welcome to the GameEx community.
  21. I have not got round to it yet.. Spent too much time on the dc stuff. BTW. of the 25+ non-working games i have tried, exactly 0 run on the new build
  22. Currently just over 120 gigs and they are all zipped.
