  1. I wondered how long it would take you to find my little dig ... I thought i may have been able to get a bit of a better response than that though - I must be losing my touch.. Must continue my scholarship at "Mr Tempest school of putdowns" oh well.... Anyway, To carry on with the Intellivison thing... It contains almost every single release/non-release/proto except a handful of the modified bios files (who leaves them in the rom directory anyway?) I certainly includes the games you have mentioned here and in the earlier 1 and 2 player only version and also all SDK-1600 releases and the ECS Songplayer releases. I try hard to make them as exact as I can and spend MANY hours on a db (well in excess of 60 hours on some). But.. no-one is perfect. If you find a title missing on a COMPLETE database and am 100% sure that your file is named after one of the existing dats or that it is not present within any - PLEASE let me know as I will 100% add it. The ultimate aim is to get them ALL complete. Please read my other reply regarding the problems with missing game matches. Hope that helped?
  2. Not sure if the intellivision db on the latest release is my latest release. It contains all "4" tron games including the stand alone dig dug tron deadly dogs hidden game, Blockade runner is there, as is nhl and nba, "Slam Dunk: Super Pro Basketball" to use it's correct name , ..... In total 220 games including all demos and alternate versions. All i can conclude is that it has not been released yet (TOM? HK?) or your roms are not strict names... Tron deadly discs should be named as such, TRON - Deadly Discs (1981)(Mattel) in all fairness the brackets after the name are only valid on games with multiple versions, so this filename would also be ok, TRON - Deadly Discs
  3. Yes they do. There is an option in the emu setup "use Database name". This will show the correct name of any matched rom. The dat names have several faults in them which are corrected by the databases. A good example is "Decathlon" and "The Activision Decathlon". The second one being correct (check the game cover). I have worked DAMN hard to try and make sure that all the roms are displayed as originally intended by the publisher and not by the name that the tosec (or others) dat creator choose on a whim. so yes it is worth using them. They do rely on you having correctly named rom sets (it would take FAR too long to have all the checksums checked instead), and needs complete db's. There are quite a few complete db's now (first page of the database project sticky), and the remaining databases have been ALL edited to match with all the games known by Mobygames as a starting point, so they do still contain a huge amount of data. Work is progressing on the databases and a N64 one is half way done now (massive slog 968 games to do ). So, don't make our work in vain... 4. HK: Here is an updated Atari 7800 db. This contains filled Developer fields. It is something that tom would like to add as a new feature to compliment the "Also On" addition I belive. The problem is that I still need some way to colate "Database Name", "Develper", and "Publisher" across all db's. I know this is a real chore and really am sorry for asking. You have done such great work on the project already, but as with children - they never stop growing! I need a way to check naming across all db's, and a way of editing them "Batch", this is quite important for Tom for other reasons and important for me too, the db's are like my children and I want them all to grow up perfect, well mannered, and to understand correct syntax and a common language lol. Also, any chance of a drop down box for the "Developer" field in the edit box? I do honestly believe this will really be the last request of all - honest. How to implement it the best - i have no idea? Perhaps right-clicking a column in the rom list and selecting "Cross-check" in a pull down would be a great way to implement it? then what? Anyway, it would really help and you know if there was a paypal button with HK on it, it would be done - but then again, your work is priceless! _Console__Atari_7800_v1.012__Flash_.zip
  5. You cannot just add columns to any of the databases and expect them to work. GameEx poll specifics and will ignore the rest or even not work at all. The names of the roms must match across ALL db's in ALL systems. If you want my advice (and you really do ), run a rom manager and take all your roms back to correct naming conventions (either of the 3 formats is fine). All the completed DB's will then work + link with mame. The db's are designed in such a way to enable seemless use of this functon (and perhaps others). Regarding your love of renaming the roms, <publisher> - <Game>, don't! In gameex just list the games by publisher and the work is done for you? You can browse by which company did what, so you could pick perhaps just Imagic and see a list of games attributed to them only. It would be nice to have this function for Developer also, which is something (good god) that I am looking in to adding to all the db's (bugger)... So - back up your roms and rename the using clrmamepro or such, use the latest db's and play (Select "use Database names") - you won't wanna go back, and if you do - just put your db's back and your orignal roms.. Trust me - I'm a Doctor
  6. Look in the THEME.INI of the current theme you are using and look for this line:- ShowDateTime=True change to:- ShowDateTime=False There may well be a way in advanced config, but this is the only one I know of....
  7. Add away old bean - go on, be a devil! Have upped it to the ftp in mdb format for you.... PS. you sounded a little like Shakira then
  8. It relies on 2 things. 1) complete databases. (still very much a WIP) 2) roms to be named in the fashion of Tosec/no-intro/goodname (see - we told you to stick with them ) As time goes on, more and more results will match as the system is expanded.
  9. The standard uninstallers should work fine. When installing ffdshow, I always use the defaults for the install. Then install the xvid codec. This appears to work great for me both on my main vista machine and on the xp laptops. Yes, changing loads of stuff to try and get it working will make things worse.. Clean out and start from scratch.
  10. I too have had the same problem with choppy video with some of the emumovies sets. I use the FFDshow codec pack from the downloads (2005) and the stand-alone XVid codec. All works fine for me! But... When changing codecs, you must make sure you clean out all the old codecs you have installed first - these will interfere.
  11. I did not say they were running. They are in the rom directory in the dumped name format and the db picks them up and shows the correct name and all the info. I wish that I had 56 RUNNING! I actually have 5 running at the moment - I really do not get time to get my setups working 100% with the correct dumps, while the db's are still being created I spend the time just collecting the roms in the various formats for checking only. One day I will have to get round to playing them. Will have to download this new GameEx to have a play with the new "other systems" feature, sound great!
  12. I have checked it with 56 naomi gdroms and roms, and all works great. I think it is fine to go public, though it is a wip and will need updating, esp when a dat is created for it. I can up mdb to ftp?
  13. I am still working on the theme. Just taking time off to take as many pictures of OLD systems to improve the overall look (some have been posted in the "trip to the loft" thread). The theme will be released in both 4:3 and widescreen formats. Any theme of 1024x768 or 800x600 will scale quite happily to 640x480 using GameEx to do the work. These 3 resolutions use exactly the same aspect ratio and will work a treat. My theme will be released in either 1024x768 or 800x600, as scaling down will retain the same graphic quality. I am in no hurry to complete my theme, but I am still working on it along with other projects.
  14. What a terrible, slow service, what is this country coming to? This would never have happened in my day, used to be able to go on the net, register 3 products, and still have change for a bag o' chips.. Tsch!
  15. Stay well clear - He's Australian! :)

  16. Yep, sorry Hunk (snigger), but the way it works it that the DB is created and then uploaded here as an XML file for HK to audit. The XML file is then converted to a MDB file for inclusion in the DB repostory for download. It won't be long When you do have it, please let me know how you get on with the matching, The naming is based on the currently available dumps, not IMBERZERK renames :) Cheers.
  17. Well...... That's my 'Topic' gone to the dogs!
  18. After a request by Hunk_4TH and because of all the interest in the system of late, I decided to create a Naomi DB. The db contains 71 games of both GD-Rom and chip based seeing as all emu's will support both. The naming convention in the 3 dat columns should match ok with known dumps and I have filled all of them to aid matching with any dumps that are released after the db's release. Have not tried it yet as have not had time to set up Naomi emu in gameex (I wonder why I never have time ). Added Biography THIS time HK Cheers! _Arcade__Sega_Naomi_v1.01__Flash_.zip
  19. Not forgetting 3 ducks on the wall and that picture of the 'crying boy' I don't think the wife will let me get away with that Would like to see how it looks if you ever get it done...
  20. Memories, Just Memories......
  21. Funny enough - she supports my collecting.. Wierd!!!!! I will have a think of what I am after
  22. There are over 200 machines in total. When I will get the chance to go through the others - I don't know. But I will. I started collecting them about 15-20 years ago, and it just keeps progressing. I tried to get machines that I used to use in my youth and also the machines that friends had. Things like the Odyssey I got purelly for historical reasons. Trying to find A1 versions of the older machines can be tricky though.
  23. Sounds fine to me. It would make a great starting point, and who knows where it could progress with user input. Mind you - people are getting quite lazy lately. Look at some of the other databases and how enpty they are I would certainly like to see it develop.
  24. Email me the upshot please.
  25. I agree with both sides of the arguement (discussion). I like the idea in theory. The databases could be used without the descriptions as a starting point in the same way wikipedia started as a page with one entry called "Wikipedia". All the data could just start as a database of Title, ystem, publisher, year, etc. These could easily be linked with graphics from Emumovies and use some really great artwork for the system (ahem! ). I am quite happy to play with this - mainly as it does not involve extra work from me as such I see no reason to take some COMPLETE db's (Saturn. Dreamcase, Colecovision, Intellivision - for a start) and just see how it works. Tom, you may find it impractical once you start work on it - who knows? But do bear in mind there are benefits long term. Example is for the Saturn - 220 or so games, GameExBD 690. I have not been able to find a single site that contains the complete list for a system (so far). anyway - that is my three-hapenny worth. Off too bed now! Poor tired flash. I will catch up with this in the morning - goodnight all!
