  1. Tom will release the new version of HiToText with each new release of GameEx so that will be automatic. But you will have to keep your hiscore.dat file updated although that file doesn't get updated that often and it will be a long while before HiToText supports all the games currently in it anyway. So for the most part the updates for hiscore support in GameEx are automatic as long as you update GameEx with each new release. Check out the HiToText page for the latest updates and games added to HiToText.
  2. Well it's a shame you lost a theme AcidBrain because your themes are very popular here. Have you taken a look at GameEx Live? I see you "AcidBrain Vision" theme there quite alot.
  3. sometimes drinking is the only thing you can do after a HDD crash!
  4. You may be able to retrieve data from the hard drive it depends on how badly it crashed. Sometime putting it in a plastic bag and into a freezer for a while can help things. Just connect the drive up to another PC and change the ownership of the files then you should be able to retrieve them. But as I said it depends on the state of the drive.
  5. While Mellow is quite an ingenious acronym I'm not sure I like it enough. EmuLauncher doesn't quite fit the bill because it can launch single games as well. Hmm hows about ArcadeLauncher.. Oh I hate coming up for names for apps lol
  6. VisitorQ: Yes there is now a new feature where you can view the hiscore table for games inside GameEx. But VisitorQ also made a valid point there was a hiscore patch version released that was buggy and then a new version was released for it. I think it was the first release for 128 which has now been fixed. So you may need to do a fresh compile again. Also all the options for turning hiscores on and off are now stored inside mame.ini. You might want to check that it's actually turned on in there also.
  7. Can you try Version 1.96? Let me know if the problem improves. If not I've added a new option in Display Options "Show Loading Screens" which you can turn them off if they still get in the way. But I'd appreciate it if you could see if it works without that option set first.
  8. I would really prefer to give it a unique name. MultiLaunch sounds okay but I think I want a name that it a bit strange and unique like XPAdder. I like the sound of XLaunch. But does that sound too close to XPAdder and GameEx? I like XLaunch because it means it can launch "X" as in anything. I'm really hoping for help on this. So we will have to do it on a system by system basis, like for emulator "X" we need to hide this window, send a mouse click to this menu etc. And I will add the features in that are needed hopefully in a universal way so they can be chopped and changed for different emulators and games.
  9. Stupid question but you do have the hiscore.dat file in Mame's root folder?
  10. I just wanted to mention that work is progressing well on this. But I have hit a snag. I was going to call the wrapper "Game Launcher" but I realise there is already a FE called that. So what should I call it? Any suggestions?
  11. CPWizard is standalone so it doesn't read anything from GameEx.ini. Not sure why colors.ini would not be working for you. Recently I did a few changes back and forth with how the data files work. Try deleting MiniInfo.xml in the Data folder and running CPWizard again. I also recommend you do an update to the latest version if you haven't already.
  12. It depends, it can only read .hi files so you must have the hiscore patch applied to your Mame's exe. It does not support nvram yet although there are talks about supporting this in the future. Donkey Kong is supported by HiToText though. To check the hiscore you can find the HiToText.exe program and run it like so HiToText -r dkong.hi Just make sure you give it the full path to the hi file or copy HiToText.exe into Mame's hi folder to test it. It should output a list of the hiscores. GameEx should be reading this info "live" each time you go to view the hiscore table.
  13. I believe it's Visual Pinball that expires not VPinMAME. Have you tried the latest version of VP?
  14. Great work BK! Maybe we should make a new level "GameEx Legend"
  15. Hey Tempest I've uploaded a new version which I did change the way I'm getting the GameEx folder which might improve things I'm not sure. Also I've added some extra log output to PlugInLCD.log which should show us exactly what the GameEx folder and ini file is and what it's reading as the Mame folder. You only need to overwrite your PlugInLCD.dll file with the one from the download (in the first post)
  16. If you mean having VPinMAME display the dot matrix screen on a secondary monitor there is an option in the path settings to do that already.
  17. Version 1.4 Released - Fixed bug when using multiple joysticks at once
  18. It's actually saying that Mame's root folder is NULL, meaning you don't have that set in GameEx. It reads the following value from GameEx.ini [General] MamePath= That should be the path to Mame. Also check in "Options 2" in the Plugin's config program that all the Mame paths are correct there also.
  19. Please post your log after the crash
  20. Have a search on the forum for "WinUAE Loader"
  21. Brian: I'm not talking about myself when I say this but deleting posts could offend some people. How about giving it a trim after a few weeks later instead? That way people won't be confused (like I was) thinking someone is deleting posts and/or making people think they have done something wrong and had their posts deleted.
  22. Visitor Q: Check your Daemon Tools path to the exe is correct. Only 64 bit OS's have the "(x86)" at the end. So check the path you may need to remove that.
  23. I noticed that both Tempest's and Arjen's posts have been deleted from this thread. Does anyone know why? And sorry about not explaining things properly Arjen you wern't breaking any rules it's just that NoLogic asked we remove his wrappers from here so we did. My guess is most of the *_Loader ones were by him. But as Brian said nothing we can't write ourselves we have plenty of confident scripters and coders here. Basically I tend to write wrappers as I need them and I've never got around to trying out all of them. It's not my goal to have every emulator under the sun running on my cab but I'm happy to help out out where I can.
  24. Sorry but I had to remove the wrapper because it's probably one of NoLogic's and we do not allow them here anymore. I have been working on my universal wrapper recently so when it's released hopefully I can get some people together to test it on some of these emulators to get it working with them. I'll be adding the necessary features as we need them to get each one working. Some may require custom code so I am probably going to have a system that "auto detects" emulators based on the name of the exe. The wrapper is pretty much ready for release but I need to finish off the GUI system for it. Stay tuned!
  25. I did update the LaunchBefore line a bit not sure if it will make a difference or not. As for the batch method it should work as I posted it. Did you try it?
