  1. Thanks for the bump Tempest, unfortunately it looks like Oggalz is MIA again. I hate it when volunteer developers don't dedicate their entire lives to fixing MY problems.
  2. Well, possibly the funniest (or saddest?) thing is that you seemed to have ZiNc all figured out back in February.
  3. I'll double check, but I'm sure the U360's are fine. They work fine in gameex and every emulator I've tried as well as the UltraStik utility. If every other app can find and use them then I would venture to guess the problem is in the plugin.
  4. debug screenshot below.
  5. Hey Oggalz, thanks again for trying to work through this. I had similar results on this go around, getting another error and crashing setControls.exe the 2 times I tried it. Just for experimental purposes, I moved the libusb0.dll file into the GameEx Plugins folder and renamed it libusb.dll and then got an error message saying No UltraStiks found. Screenshot of errors below. My UltraStiks definitely show up under Game Controllers and work in GameEx and games. They are the 3rd and 4th device, I have 2 Logitech Rumblepads that are 1 and 2.
  6. There's no libusb.dll on my machine. There's a libusb0.dll file in a PluginUltraStik folder in my GameEx Plugins folder. Where are the plugin files supposed to reside? Floating in the GameEx Plugins folder, within a PluginUltraStik folder in the Plugins folder? To confirm, the main components of this plugin are: ICSharpCode.USBlib.dll PlugInUltraStik.ini PlugInUltraStik.dll setControls.exe libusb.dll
  7. Sorry, I don't have much familiarity with 25" monitors. Another Wells Gardner may be a good idea so the fit is exact. Try the BYOAC forums also as mentioned they have some real monitor pros over there.
  8. Knowing what joysticks you have and how they are setup would help us help you troubleshoot. I think you've just got keys mapped to your joystick that conflict with the default keys used to enable/disable those functions in zsnes. If memory serves, standard numeric keys (1 and 5 I think) toggle the background and sprite layer functions in zsnes so it's easy to have unsuspectingly mapped them to your joystick.
  9. No 64-bit, I'm running Vista Home Basic. Not sure where the libusb.dll is, I didn't copy this over as the instructions in the thread said that if you had the latest UltraStik firmware you didn't have to replace the libusb.dll. I'll double check the libusb.dll location tomorrow.
  10. I just measured mine and the mounting brackets are 24.5" wide, not 23.5. From my experience, making a monitor fit in a pre-existing cab is really tricky. Mounting them can be a real bear, they're heavy and awkward which makes them tough to maniupulate. The more room you have all around for centering etc., the better. Remember your going to need build some sort of bracket or crossbrace that the metal mounts of the monitor will connect to. You also have to be concerned with the depth. IMO it would look funny to have only a half inch on either side of the monitor and no bezel. On my first cab I did this with a tv and it looked a little odd. I jury rigged a bezel out of black foam core board you can find at any arts and crafts store.
  11. I have the same monitor as jombee and can also highly recommend it but since your cab is designed for a 25" monitor I don't think you'd be able to make it fit. You'll have to look for a comparable 25".
  12. Thanks for the update Oggalz, still no luck. setConrols crashes when I try this with the new files. See the attached screenshot for the error dialog and text from the cmd prompt after crash.
  13. The other tip I'd have (unless you're really set on building something) is to check the Dell Outlet site. I was able to get my Inspiron 531's AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ (2.10GHZ) with Vista, 250Gb drives and 1Gb RAM for $249. You can save some money building your own but not much. You can get them with Intel processors or XP also. For a quick, cheap MAME machine these are great. Another nice little benefit is the 7 USB ports which you'll end up using quickly.
  14. Yeah, I thought those were pretty expensive. My monitor is a 27" Betson Imperial which is going for $469 right now. 27" Betson Imperial Monitor I bought 3 at once and was able to negotiate $395 apiece + shipping which was about $50 apiece. The sales rep was super friendly, helpful and willing to deal on the monitor once I told her I was looking at competitors. Shipping would depend on whether it's home delivery or not and distance from Chicago. I happen to have a loading dock at work which is a little cheaper for delivery and am 1 state away. The monitors are great, haven't had any problems and I can highly recommend them in unison with ArcadeVGA cards. Reps name and number are below. Tell her you know someone who bought them for $395 and maybe she'll cut you a deal to defer shipping cost. Betson Elayne Weinberg 800.386.7040 ext 6222
  15. Very true, I had a TV for quite awhile and thought it was great. I was really on the fence justifying the expense when I built a new cab. After having one though I would never go back even if it meant going cheaper on some other components. What is the one thing on your cab that you'll be looking at EVERY day. You know how many hours you're going to be staring at that screen? Might as well make it a good one. Isn't that Monivision like an $800 monitor? You can get a nice 27" arcade monitor for around $400 shipped. Have to disagree on the look of LCD's and computer monitors vs. a genuine arcade monitor, I just don't like the look as well but it truly is subjective.
  16. And don't forget not to cheap out on the monitor. Consider an actual 27" arcade monitor and an Ultimarc ArcadeVGA card. This single upgrade to my cabinet has been one of the most enjoyable. The picture is phenomenal and accurate to the arcade versions. I've run TV's, LCD's and CRT's and nothing compares to the real deal.
  17. Right back at ya Oggalz. Wuzzup? You wanted a Vista beta tester and you got'em. Don't take this wrong I know you're probably busy and I do appreciate you working on this. Just drop an update when you get a chance. Even if just to say there's no way in hell this will ever work in Vista.
  18. Inspiron Desktop 531 Mini-tower: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ (2.10GHZ) 1Gb RAM Both KI 1 and 2 run smooth for me.
  19. PrtScrn and Paste into paint will work but if it's a MAME game I find it easier to use F12 in-game. This will take a screenshot and place it in a subdirectory of your MAME folder and automatically name after the rom so it saves you a few steps vs. the PrtScrn method.
  20. ... so I take it no one's got this plugin working on Vista then?
  21. Yeah, I've always wondered if there was a compelling reason to use either?
  22. Done. It doesn't go into mouse mode, it says the following: Detecting Ultrastiks... 2 Ultrastiks found * Ultrastik #1 - Vendor ID:d209, Product ID:0501 * Ultrastik #2 - Vendor ID:d209, Product ID:0502 Done.
  23. I'm a 'confirmed Vista user' and I've confirmed that it doesn't work for me. No one responded to my question/comment above before breaking into geek speak as Tempest put it.
  24. Well, since you're 'serious' and all... don't say I never gave you nothin'. Rev'd logos attached. Tempest_Logos.zip A couple notes, 1. Not sure why the samples are jpg's, they really should be png's, jpg's are a lossy compression so they degrade. In case you want to use jpg's for some reason I've included them along with png's. 2. The Tempest logo (formerly vector) didn't have the gloss bump on it, I included it. I also bumped up the brightness and contract, it was hard to see the lines. Happy logo'ing.
  25. I thought this thread was about PlugInUltraStik 1.3 beta testing? Not that I'm not happy that you discovered Systems.Collections.Generic but to most of us this is greek.
