PinballX Enhancements/Features Requests
PcTeknic replied to Draco1962's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
With custom databases, there is no problem, in fact I always give people 3 options: 1- Install Visual Pinball (shows all tables) and also the rest of the systems that come out of Visual Pinball (Basics, Classics, Spanish ...) 2- Install only the systems and do not see Visual Pinball with all the tables (nobody chooses this option) 3- Install only Visual Pinball, in this case, I put the databases of the rest of Visual systems in Visual Pinball and they can be accessed from LISTINGS. (Although the averages of those systems are not seen). In the same way, there are those who prefer to have a single MAME system in HyperSpin or those who prefer to have MAME with all games and also have systems like Capcom, Data East, etc. When you have 100 or 200 Visual Pinball tables, you only want to have a single system, but when you have 700, 800 or 1000 tables, it is appreciated to have separate systems and go directly to Spanish, PinUp, Classics, etc, depending on what you are looking for . As lists can be filtered perfectly, but the grace for many is in having them as systems, everything is a matter of taste and it is always good to have both options. In HyperSpin it only allows us to modify the directory of the videos, while in other frontends, we are allowed to modify the directory for the media and this is great, just add the "Media Folder" field to the system configuration. But for this to be possible, it would be necessary to have the media of the systems in its own folder, Media / Systems or Media / Main Menu and in that folder the rest of the subfolders for the systems (BG IMG, BG VID, Table IMG, Table VID, Table AUDIO, System Overlay Logos, System Underlays, Wheel Images ...) Something that I already mentioned is that PinballX when choosing to show the system in the details area, shows the image of the System Logos folder, which is the same as the system wheel. For the systems wheel, generally, people use large images in a rough way, be it MegaBalls, MegaDocklets or SilverRing (tarcissus). These types of images do not look good in the deteal area, there are better small rectangular images, like the ones we have in System Overlays or that could have their own subfolder (System Logos - System Overlays - Wheel Images). -

After disable Remote Play in Steam options, can be install in 2 PC´s. I delete steamapp game folder and windows documents game folder and install again without any old file. The game open the first time, but when activate cabinet mode, the game crash again. I attempt to set default resolution, real resolution 4K at 60Hz, 50Hz...., set fullscreen and windowed.... the game always crash

The game only allows you to have it installed on a computer. After trying the things they said on the support page, the game still did not work, so I uninstalled it in VPinball with the intention of reinstalling it next. But to my surprise, after uninstalling it, it no longer allowed me to install, I only had the option to broadcast from my desktop computer. I have uninstalled it on my desktop computer and now it allows me to reinstall it on my VPinball, which I suppose will solve the problem. It seems to me a great shit from Magic Pixel, on top of which compared to other games of much higher quality, their tables are much more expensive, that they only allow you to install it on a computer when this does not happen with any other game, it seems brutal to me.
-
I just saw it's a Zaccaria game problem. Since Windows also fails, the game closes, except with Time Machine. However on another PC in desktop mode it works without problems. There is a topic about it on Steam and I am doing the checks you comment on.

Malzbie's Pinball Collection - On my cabinet
PcTeknic replied to joyrider3774's topic in User Projects
This is great!!! External programs will no longer be needed. I guess now that it has cabinet support, it could be integrated directly into PinballX with its corresponding tab instead of as a custom system. Whenever Tom wants to do it, of course. It is not a good game, but they have bothered to give cabinet support, which is already more than Future Pinball or Pinball Arcade have done in 10 or 20 years that they have been running. -
Version 1.1

System Overlays - Rings Chrome or Golden special for MegaBalls. I made this 2 System Overlays, Chrome and Golden, the Megaballs fit perfectly on the Rings. .PSD inside the zip, you can duplicate or modify existing Rings to apply any other color. This is for use in System Overlay, if you are usin System Underlay, remove or put Underlays in one subfolder. As Overlay, this images are over the whell, as underlay is under the wheel and dont look fine. -
I just install now PinballX 5.02, don´t solve thyis issue. Running Zaccaria as admin, don´t solve thyis issue. Running Zaccaria and Steam as admin, don´t solve thyis issue. Running Steam as admin, don´t solve thyis issue. -------- We do not make a commercial use, we sell a product to end users, to individuals who are going to use it at home and who can later manage it on their own. A commercial exploitation is when these machines are put in a public place and you have to pay to play. Look Tom, more than half of the users have been asking me to make the switch to Popper for over a year. I have always insisted on continuing to use PinballX and helping you in whatever way I can with development, translations, media, etc. Over the past two years I think we have all seen a massive migration from PinballX to Popper, to such an extent that the manufacturer I work for will surely make two versions of VPinball, the current Williams Standart Body with PinballX and a Stern Pinball with Popper. By the way, you don't have to pay anything to Williams or Stern to make your furniture, you have the plans on the internet. Anyway, as I said, there would be no problem in paying you a sum of money if certain modifications are carried out in PinballX, some of which have been requested more than a year ago (there will even be no problem in paying you a lower amount if not are carried out). - That the filters.ini are only shown in the specified system in order to have different filters in some systems than in others. - Being able to choose the media directory in custom systems, so that VPinball Spanish, VPinball PinUp or other Visual Pinball-based systems search for the media in Visual Pinball, without having to duplicate or triple the files. - That the media in the list of systems have their own folder SYSTEMS MEDIA or SYSTEM LIST, with their subfolders BG IMG, BG VID, TABLE IMG, TABLE VID, System Logos (details area and wheel overlay, images 4: 1 format ), Wheel Images (Images for the systems wheels, most user use MegaBalls, MegaDocklets, SilverRings or other images 1: 1 circular or triangular). The media in this case will be put in the respective folder with the name of the system instead of as before in the folders of each system with the name of - system -. - To be able to activate or deactivate certain filters such as Add / Remove from Favorites, Rate tables, etc. - If the basic menu is activated, disabling the lists, that the exit button, in its first press, takes you back to the systems menu (or even always). I personally would be very upset to see that PinballX ends up deprecated as HyperPin, after all the work we have all done, of course mainly you, but not only you, many other users such as Draco, Scutters, Mike da Spikes and a long etc. , among which I include myself, we have also cooperated with pleasure in what has been possible. When users report bugs to you or suggest changes, we are not making a criticism, we are simply trying to improve what is already a great job. Isn't PinballX so much better now than it was 2, 4, 6, 8 years ago? It has been improved a lot and it continues to improve, both for improvements that you yourself are making based on the evolution of the operating system and the games that come on the market, as well as for improvements or bugs, suggested or alerted by users.

As always, scutters improving everything possible. I put here some that I have moved from my previous Company Logos folder to the new one, in case you want to improve and / or add them. Most of them are Spanish. I have even seen that Talleres Llobregat has it renamed and displayed as "(Automaticos)". In Spain they are known as Tallerres Llobregat or Talleres del Llobregat and associated with the terrestrial globe, by Automáticos I have not realized at first, because we do not know by that name.

Yes, i just update Windows and graphic car yesterday and PinballX today. Tomorrow when pc restart atenmp again. Don't think this is the fail, but...
-
The last launch is with your database Tom (for LOG.txt view).
-
There is PinballX.ini log.txt Zaccaria.xml Zaccaria (PinballX Generated).xml Zaccaria Victor.xml

When Launch Tima Machine PinballX made the clics in the game, black screen for some secs (very secs), the table load and can play. When Launch any other table that I have bought (Locomotion Retro or other), Pinball X made the clics in the game, Black screem for some secs (Very secs), the table load, but just when table load, go back to PinballX (Menú play only show for 0,5 secs and go back to PinballX. With PinballX database and with my database, its same database, only set HIDE DMD on False and rate tables. The Same Issue before set HIDE DMD on False. In the .ini now i use the config to Zaccaria (Without Launcher) This issue is the same one month ago when i use the launcher. This is my new .ini config [Zaccaria] Enabled=True WorkingPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam Executable=steam.exe Parameters=-applaunch 444930 Process=ZaccariaPinball.exe

I think one update of the game or one update of windows. Table names and type are unique table names and type, i use Zaccaria before with the Launcher. I dont update database 2 months ago or more (last 2 tables don´t added). This issue ocurred one month aprox. If i use the database generated with ne new setup fron PinballX 5.0 install, I have the same issue
-
Here a video. Time Machine open fine, very time, but open and can play. Rest of tables go back to pinballX.
-
This is great. Only need move my files of old Zaccaria Pinball folders to new Zaccaria Folders. Dont need any external software, fantastic. Now databases have HIDEDMD on false to show DMD Image in game. The Screens don´´t rotate medias and now the open process is clean. But i have the same issue as before (this last 30 days). Only Time Machine load fine, the rest of tables made fine the sequence, but go back to PinballX.

That already depends on each manufacturer. There are manufacturers that limit user access, because they do not offer support, they sell it to you, it works and if you touch, they do not want to know anything, among other things because they do not know. I personally would not be willing to buy a VPinball on which I do not have access to modify everything I want and a VPinball that does not update, in less than a year is completely obsolete. Other manufacturers however, with the purchase of the VPInball they give you one year of support and updates. I myself connect every month to the VPinballs sold by a Spanish manufacturer and I give all the customers all the updates that have come out that month, Windows, Graphics card, PinballX, Visual, FX3, etc., and the news that I consider appropriate . I'm in charge of keeping more than 700 Visual Pinball tables updated and every month I add more than 10 new features. At the same time I explain to clients everything they want to know. After that year, in which they are supposed to have had plenty of time to see how Visual works, the frontend databases and media and the rest of the games, they can renew the update service or not, that is a matter for each one. Only 1 in 10 does not renew the service at the end of the year. It is easier for them to have someone else do that work for them. They have also contracted other VPinball services, manufactured by themselves, periodically for me to update them. And do you know what many of them have told me when I begin to explain how everything works so that they can manage it on their own? - "Do not heat my head, I pay you every 6 months, you update it and that's it." I repeat what I have said a thousand times, you cannot teach those who do not want to learn, each one is free to learn and do it on their own or pay to do this or any other job.

I personally would like things to be clear. For example Pinball FX3 has licenses for its commercial exploitation. When we talk about commercial exploitation, it is understood that it is to put it on a public site and charge end users to play games. However, there is no type of license for manufacturers since what they do is produce sales of their game, the client must buy the tables on Steam, the manufacturer sells the furniture and the configuration, so they have nothing against machines are sold, as long as it is with the original game (Steam version). But there are no operating licenses for Visual Pinball, PinballX or the rest of the software, nor are there any licenses for manufacturers, nor do I think they should exist. All the websites, PinballX, VPForums, VPUniverse, etc., all have paid membership accounts for users and there are download limits in all of them that make downloading the thousands of files that are necessary takes weeks or months even with these accounts. pay. Since when selling a VPinball, what you are creating a potential client for these sites, I do not think that there should be a license payment from the manufacturers, since otherwise, what would be intended is to receive a double economic reward, charge from the manufacturer and collect from the end user. It must be clear that manufacturers make machines for the user and it is the user who must buy new FX3 tables if they want to have them or register and collaborate with the VPinball websites if they want to do so, not the manufacturer. In the same way that when they sell a machine to a client who wants it for commercial exploitation, it is the client who must acquire the permits for its exploitation, the manufacturer never does, in some communities they allow commercial exploitation and in others they do not allow it. What surprises me is that in some communities the commercial exploitation of a machine that contains tens, hundreds or even thousands of games is allowed, but if the law allows it, there is nothing more to say.

I think it is quite simple. If Arcade or Pinball Machines were not sold, there would be no manufacturers. If everyone had knowledge of carpentry, the tools and the space necessary to make the furniture and had computer knowledge and time to spare to download thousands of files separately, unzip them, rename them, create their databases and save, edit or create all the files. socks, they wouldn't buy a machine made. What's more, there would be no profession. There are those who buy the oil, filters, etc. and make the change in their vehicle themselves because they are passionate about mechanics, but I think most of them buy a vehicle because they want to drive it, they do not want to take care of maintenance, much less manufacture it, they can pay for it. You may like to have a garden and it is not necessary that you have to plant each seed and take care of it, they sell plants and there are gardeners. You can install the operating system or new hardware on your PC yourself, but if you don't know, remember that there are computer scientists. And so we can continue with all trades, carpenters, plumbers, etc. What you cannot do is pretend to teach those who do not want to learn. There are many people who do not have time, who come home from work and want to play a game, without worrying about anything else and do not mind paying to have their machine updated periodically. Others who simply do not feel like it and prefer to use their free time on other things, family, sports, etc. To play Pinball, it is not mandatory to spend several hours a day / week / month on maintenance if you want to pay for it. As far as I know, nobody forces anyone, neither in this, nor in anything, you can always do things for yourself or pay to do it for you. According to the logic of some comments, everyone who hires a plumber or electrician is lazy for not doing it himself. It is very respectable to spend months building your own Pinball and configuring everything yourself, creating all the socks and such, I have fun making mine. But it is also very respectable to buy it ready-made. Respect, in life everything is about respect and there are several ways to enjoy pinball, each one taking the one they prefer. By the way, Linux is free, take your pc to a computer scientist to install Linux, it is not free, the computer scientist charges you for the installation, not for Linux and no, the computer does not pay anything to the creator of Linux, the user later you can make a donation to Linux, but the computer scientist has no obligation to do so. That user to whom PinballX is installed as a frontend, from the outset you are guiding him along this path instead of another, be it Popper, PinballY, HyperPin or any other frontend and he can probably acquire a payment account here or make a donation .

PinballX Enhancements/Features Requests
PcTeknic replied to Draco1962's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
I have 10 Visual Pinball based systems. - Visual Pinball (All tables) - VPinball Classics (Tables without DMD 60s, 70s, 80s and some 90s) - VPinball Basics (Tables with DMD 90s, 00) - VPinball Spanish - VPinball Fantasy (Original Tables) - VPinball Kids (Children's Tables) - VPinball Musical - VPinball New Generation (Stern SPike 2, Jersey Jack, etc) - VPinball PinUp - Taito Pinball He will probably add VPinball Zaccaria with Zeccaria tables from Vsual Pinball. The point is that some tables, for example, are visible in 2 or 3 systems, such as the AC / DC PinUp, which is visible in Visual Pinball, VPinball Musical and VPinball PinUp. The same happens with the children's ones, which can be visible in up to 3 systems. The rest are visible in 2 systems VIsual Pinball and classic or Spanish or the corresponding one. The point is that this represents an increase in the weight of the average by 150% approx. It would be great if when we create a custom system, we can choose the directory of the media, to choose if we want the medias in VPinball Kids (for example) or we want them in Visual Pinball. This, in addition to greatly reducing the weight of the medias by avoiding duplicates or even triplicates, would also save a lot of time when creating the medias since it would not be necessary to distribute copies among different folders. For this to be possible, in addition to being able to choose the directory of the media, PinballX should have folders for the system media, just as it has the System Logos folder where it looks for the logo of each system by name, there should also be System Table Videos , System Table Audio, etc Our files would go in those folders with the name of the system instead of being in each system with the name of - system - Frontends like HyperSpin allow to choose the directory, although only for videos, I think it could be done in PinballX as well and for all media. -

I am the one who is grateful to the entire team that works continuously to improve or adapt to the needs of PinballX users. You do a great job and the least I could do is help as little as I can.
