Pinball FX3: Williams Pinball Volume 6
PcTeknic replied to Mike_da_Spike's topic in PinballX Media Projects
I use same backglass, audio and wheels for recreations in all systems. FunHouse is FunHouse in VPX, in Future, in TPA, in FX3... Only record new video for the table, for DMD I generally use the old Visual Pinball videos without color DMD. -

PinballX Enhancements/Features Requests
PcTeknic replied to Draco1962's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
A feature that I think would be very interesting would be to be able to choose if we want the wheel in arc by enlarging the image of the game selected above, as it is now or if we want the wheel in a straight line, minimally enlarging the image of the game selected in the center of the straight line. -
Great work

PinballX Enhancements/Features Requests
PcTeknic replied to Draco1962's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
Perfect, I had that question. It was not a criticism. I know and appreciate the great work of Tom and all the collaborators and I try to contribute what I can. I do not have systems based on executables, but everything that is implemented is good and can be used by whoever needs it. -
PinballX Enhancements/Features Requests
PcTeknic replied to Draco1962's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
But I do not know if it is used to make a pcgames system and in the database put in the alternateexe the paths to the different executables or if it serves so that single table systems, such as Pro-Pinball, Wicked or SlamIt can be executed directly from the systems menu without accessing the menu with a single table to launch it. I guess when I install it I'll see. But sometimes, I think that the information when publishing a new release is very brief. An explanation of what a feature is for and how to use it, never hurts. -

I view new about PinballX 4.65, one of new features is: - New custom system for exe files. Can someone put a short description of how to use this new Feature? -
I put it in C: / Visual Pinball, but it is the same where you put it, in PinballX you are going to configure it as Launch After, specifying the path to the file.

Scape key go to menús in Steam Games. This is god for Select 2 players, participate un tournaments, etc. But if you don't like this, just change in PinballX the scape key for other Key, for ex. E key and don't use E key in any Game for ant function.

I already mentioned on some occasion that in my opinion, it would be great to implement these options in PinballX: 1- In the systems have a box like in HyperSpin, in the "Executable" style. If this box is checked, it is executed directly from the systems menu, without having to read a database that only contains one table, as with Pro-Pinball, Pinball Wicked or SlamIt Pinball. If not checked, it goes on to read the database. This would be great not only for those single table systems, but also for those who want to set up Pinball FX2, Pinball FX3, Pinball Arcade or Zaccaria in direct run and select the table already in game, avoiding having to constantly update averages. And I remember that it is an option, that you can mark or not mark, to suit each one. 2- Include preconfigured PC GAMES System. This would allow to enable this system and simply put the Direct Access.lnk in the folder that is specified as the path of the tables NOTE: For Steam games, I don't know if a Steam Games system could be made, in which PinballX would take the <rom> ID of APP </rom> or <steamid> ID of APP </steamid> tag for execution. Again I remember that they are options, that you use if you want.

PinballX Enhancements/Features Requests

If Filters only show in Select System, don't have this problem. But whith Filters showing in all systems is a Big problem. I think the principal problem is this, one time solved this, scrolling can be god too for systems with a lot of Filters or all systems View. -
Pinball FX2 system logo are overwrite after update
-
No, don´t work. i have created Stern.ini only for Visual Pinball, but are visible on all systems.

Fantastic!!!!!! This afternoon I test the latest version. It will be great to be able to have separate filters for each system. Thanks a million Tom. I read the 4.60 release notes, but understood that what was solving was the additional lists that were created automatically. Problem exposed by a user. I did not understand that it was also correcting for them to be seen only on the specified system. That's why I didn't put it, this afternoon I'll put 4.61 This improvement is very important to me.
-
You mean image overwriting or listings.ini? You do a great job Tom.
-
The next update I will do when the filters that we make for a single system, are only shown in that system. No pressure ehhhh.
-
Whith last version i don't know. I updated PinballX 10 times in last 5 years. The first time i have the same version until it stopped working, but afterwards I have updated it every 4 or 6 months. The last update 1 month ago, when Cutters animated company logos are integranted.

When update PinballX, medias of Big Game and Road Kings overwrite. Custom Wheels as Megaballs or Megadockets are remplaced for los resolution Nuke Wheels. This is a minor bug when know this fail, just overwrite again. But if don't know this bug, need search and download this files again if are on use.

Correct names are Ghostbusters LE (Stern 2016) Ghostbusters Premium (Stern 2016) Ghostbusters Pro (Stern 2016) If you put in () versión, PinballX hide of description all works () Just need rename databases and files. When you download files generalment the name is Ghostbusters LE (Stern 2016) Don't rename this with (LE) -

Exact. It's about finding a way to make it work well in both cases. Currently, it does not matter if you do the filter for all systems or that you do it for a specific one, it will be seen in all. In your case, it may not matter if the systems are Visual Pinball, Visual Pinball X and VPM5. But remember that there are many other systems, currently I have the following: Arcooda Pinball Arcade Future Pinball Malzbies Pinball Collection MAME Pinball Arcade Pinball FX2 Pinball FX3 Pinball Wicked Pro-Pinball SlamIt Pinball Taito Pinball (Visual) Visual Pinball (DMD) VPinball Classics (No DMD) VPinball Fantasy (Originals) VPinball Kids VPinball PinUp VPinball Spanish Zaccaria Pinball Each system requires different filters, which makes no sense to see when you are on other systems. Zaccaria based in Type (EM, RT, AW, Deluxe) FX in Type (Marvell, Star Wars, Zen, etc) Spanish (Inder, Sonic, Peyper, Playmatic, Recreativos Franco, Juegos Populares) When View FX3, need View FX3 Filters, not other system Filters. -
It works fine for me. Can it be done in other ways? Sure, but I've been doing it like this for years and it has never given me any problems.

PinballX Enhancements/Features Requests
PcTeknic replied to Draco1962's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
I suppose the problem arises for Tom because PinballX can work with or without the systems menu, and this can complicate programming. But you have to look for the formula, when we are in Visual Pinball, only the filters created for Visual Pinball should appear, it does not make sense that filters from other systems appear there, Marvel, Zen, Universal, Deluxe, RT ... -

PcTeknic replied to Draco1962's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
Indeed, now it is better because they are automatic. But we are supposed to have the option to create them for all systems or for a specific system. However, if we create filters for one system, they appear in all. That is why we are in the same situation, we cannot create filters for Visual with manufacturers and decades, filters for TPA with Stern, Gottlieb, Williams, etc, filters for FX2 and FX3 with Marvel, Star Wars, etc, filters for Zaccaria with EM , RT, etc. We can't because they will appear on all systems and because the list would exceed the menu maximum. -
--------------------- I only recommend the 2 monitor setup on mini-pinballs, where you normally put a 16/9 24 "or 26" monitor like Playfield and a 4/3 monitor as a backglass showing the B2S with its speaker panel and DMD on modern tables. But for a Standart size Pinball, with Playfield from 40 "to 43", I recommend using 3 monitors, the second is from 27 "to 32" FHD for the Backglass and the third screen for DMD there are 3 options, DMD Real, DMD monitor Widescreen 4/1, DMD 15 "or 17" normal monitor in 4/3 or 16/9 leaving all visible or only a part and hiding the rest. If there were 4/3 27 "or 29" monitors they would be ideal for both 2 and 3 monitors, but there aren't. If you put a 16/9 monitor in for a two-screen setup, when looking at new tables with a speaker panel included, it looks very squashed and I don't like it at all.
