  1. It was. According to this article: “Bob took me under his wing from the start,” Butch fondly remembers. Bob taught water-skiing in the summer at the Weirs from 1952 to 1960 and Butch was always there helping out. “Butch moved down to Florida and in 1983 we partnered on a Funspot in Port Richey,” said Lawton. “In 1988 I sold my interest in the business to Butch as I focused on other areas here in New Hampshire.” Butch changed the name to Stop N Play. He ran it for several years until taking ill. He sold the business and moved back to Northfield where he lives today.
  2. I haven't forgotten about this. I used to play this for real years ago, and I thought my first score would be enough. It's not. Stage 3 boss is annoying. ExedExes - 1,101,700
  3. 7 8 9. (seven ate nine)
  4. Next round of submissions. Bubble Bobble II - 2,500,940 Gekisou - 196,810 Mr. Do's Wild Ride - 61,463 Mustache Boy - 1,323,280 Space Fury - 60,870 Turtles - 19,010 Tetris Plus 2 - 1,631,910 Turbo Out Run - 15,124,020
  5. We've see the pics of Funspot, but what about its other locations? At one time, Funspot had several locations here in the US, including a local arcade I frequent monthly! You'll see me here constantly in training for our high score competition playing the 60-in-1 machine as well as trying to score well in After Burner. This ex-Funspot is in Port Richey, FL under its new name since 1988, Stop N Play. It opened as a Funspot location in 1983. In preparation for a new paint job, you can see a familiar word underneath.
  6. I'm waiting for the bugs to work out of 10. No matter how reliable it claims to be, every Windows launch always has its issues. Heck, even the little "reminder" that MS has put in our taskbars has to be constantly updated! Being a tech sort of guy, and being constantly in the field, I know I'm gonna get lots of questions from 7 & 8 users as to when to update.
  7. Daz had a Crimzon Clover avatar and I totally missed it.

Glad to have you on our side, Ex. You're kickin ass!

  12. Heh, honestly it's more of the quantity of the scores than the quality. I just happened to play more than anyone else, and place better doing it. I've got no #1 scores in any of the games, and honestly I'm not going to reach any of them. Just improving where it's needed. I'm no stranger to the competition circuit. I'll be overtaken soon by those who are way better than me, and I know the big names in this tournament. Speaking of which, here's the latest round of improvements. Battle Garegga - 2,815,330 Donkey Kong II - 33,500 Intrepid - 78,870 Mr. Do's Wild Ride - 45,051 Ms. Pac-Man - 71,450 Mustache Boy - 405,140 Rainbow Islands - 886,240 Space Fury - 56,180 Street Fighter II: Champion Edition - 348,100 Super Breakout - 636 Triple Punch - 84,970 Turtles - 12,130

I'll link them here to save space. 10 Yard Fight - 57,300 Asteroids Deluxe - 35,760 Battle Garegga - 2,128,180 Bubble Bobble II - 1,739,050 Donkey Kong II - 24,200 Donkey Kong 3 - 258,600 Gekisou - 130,070 Intrepid - 56,920 Lady Bug - 129,160 Mr. Do's Wild Ride - 40,521 Ms. Pac-Man - 51,870 Mustache Boy - 161,900 Rainbow Islands - 539,150 Shock Troopers - 3,322,000 Son Son - 164,940 Space Fury - 44,780 Star Fighter - 140,000 Star Force - 555,600 Street Fighter II: Champion Edition - 293,600 Strikers 1945 - 507,000 Super Breakout - 292 Tetris Plus 2 - 1,119,700 Time Pilot '84 - 196,700 Time Scanner - 777,850 Triple Punch - 37,460 Turbo Out Run - 10,599,480 Turtles - 8,260 Tutankham - 62,560

      I have a DS Lite too :)

  18. I still wish I was able to play this for real. It had something called "Hall Effect" joysticks. I can't find a decent pic of the control panel. Here's something a little better. ExedExes - 87,664
  19. Well. Obviously a stronger performance is required. I've got it. ExedExes - 330,400
  20. I'm the only one in for team GameEx? I've got invitations to join team Retro Uprising. If we can't get 10 people I'm afraid I'll have to go over there. Please let me know what we are doing.
  21. Hardest? This game's plenty hard! It's bad enough you can't shoot up and down. But I adore the version on the 2600. I've double looped it before, that's not easy (only 4 levels per loop, don't know how many here) Here's a score on HARDEST. ExedExes - 57,760
  22. After the disappointing outcome last month, I suppose it's time to get to work. My experience with this come from the slightly simpler NES port. Room for improvement here. ExedExes - 77,100
  23. Uncut Shaw Brothers films on El Rey Network -- heck yeah!

  24. Saints Row The Third. GTA-what?

    1. DazzleHP

GTA loyalist convert - GTA 1 - Vice City. SR3 onwards - All the way! GTA has become boring - SR is ballsout hilarity, insanity and unashamed offensiveness. GIMME MO!

  25. Control issues haven't been a problem here, I've just been playing it on MAME for years. I switched to the Buffalo SNES USB Pad. It's perfectly useful for this game. L-R buttons for speed, 4 right buttons for weapons, start button for truck. ExedExes - 142,140
