LOL That's 1! (I'm keeping count) I thought moving the FAQ's to the top was a good one too.....

Well without investigating what other sticks can do, and to add that I think the U360 is optical (without investigating that either) The U360 is programmable. It can be 2 way horizontal, 2 way vertical, 4way, 4way diagonal, 8way, analog, mouse pointer, or pretty much anthing else you want it to do. It comes with pre-made maps, but you can edit your own maps setting any location in a 9x9 grid to anything you like. Literally anything! So you could make a map where up and down were digital (contact closure), and left and right were analog (incremental). Don't ask me why you would do this, but you could. Using Oqqalz's plugin, it reads the info. from the mame controls.cfg, and reprograms the stick "on the fly" when you choose a Game in Gameex. (Just one more reason to use Gameex). So if you are playing pac-man, you are using a 4 way stick, Want to play Loderunner? - 8way, Starwars? - Analog (the further you push the stick the farther the crosshairs move.) So all in all its pretty neat. One problem for sure - Mame devs. changed something awile back, and now the included 4way diagonal map doesn't work properly, Again it shouldn't be a problem. All you have to do is make a custom map, tell pluginultrastick that you want to use it for Congo Bongo, and Q*bert, and it should handle it. It will also handle different maps for different emulators. However, right now I can't get the plugin to recognize my custom maps! (AAAGHHHH!)

I use the "M" logos with the blue outline, and gamescreen inside (such as Dig Dug for Atari) Would it be possible for someone to make a "mask" for the videos so that the video (such as shown when "Last Mame Game" is highlighted) would show inside the blue "M" outline?

I did a complete re-install of Gameex, and Mame, And now I can't get my custom maps to work for my U360. I am using Oqqalz's plugin, I have downloaded it again, disabled, and re-enabled the plugin with the plugin manager. I made sure I had the latest firmware for my U360. (I know, I know, but I'm grasping at straws ) BTW, Ultimarc now has new firmware for shifted buttons for you users who have buttons attached to their U360. I quadruple checked my pluginultrastik.cfg (I just moved it over from my old directory) My custom maps are in the plugin folder (joy4way.um, JoyD4way.um,etc.) I just went through this a month ago and I'm (almost) positive I know how to do this....WTF? (that's how I spell help!)

I have to smile a little bit when you say you don't want to confuse me, I was confused before you got here! I would like to preface this (maybe I just did) with I really am not an expert on this, but I will do the best I can. I had a few minutes today to look things over. I printed out the Default.cfg that shows what controls you have set up for Mame. For Player 1: Paddle Analog is set to mousecode4, but you don't have mousecode4 on your panel. Dial Analog - same as above I know this is just from changing things around as you have been. I was concerned about some of the some other entries as well. Headkaze gets his information for what controls a game should use (joystick, trackball, etc.) from the controls.xml file in CPWizard>Data folder. If you don't have a viewer for XML You can download one from Mindfusion. According to the XML file, Arkanoid uses "dial" as the control. In your default.cfg file, in your player 2 dial controls, you have "K" and "M" set up as Dial increase/decrease. I thought maybe this was why "left" was displaying by your "M" button, so I changed "K" and "M" to "Q" and "R", and voila!, No more "LEFT" I'm not sure this makes sense, because just going by your layout, It looks like "M" would be right, not left. Now personally, I think this should be considered a bug, because controls.xml shows only controls for player1. Also, still refering to the Default.cfg, in the player 1 dial controls, you have Mousecode 4 Xaxis set up, but for P1 dial V, you are using Mouse code 2 yaxis or joycode 1 yaxis. Again I think this is from messing around trying to get things to work. If I were you I would print out the default.cfg, and check it over. Next up, and I don't understand this at all, but if you compare the Default.cfg to what you see as the player controls in Mame (tab), they do not match! I thought maybe I was doing something wrong so just for fun I changed player 1 button 16 to "F2". I then exited Mame, and checked the default.cfg, and it shows the change I made. I thought maybe I was looking at the wrong file, or that it might be write-protected. Keep in mind that Headkaze is reading the default.cfg, and other .cfg files to determine what to display on the CP. Maybe if you check yours, they will match.....I hope so! Other than that, I think you are on the right track, just some confusion from making changes trying to get things working, and a possible bug. If you need anything else, feel free to ask..... One way around some of the problems you are having, is to make copies of your layout, and call them joystick, trackball, dial, etc. In the Dial layout, delete all of the labels for trackball, joysticks, etc., Then, using Mame Keywords in the CPWizard, use the keyword dial, and the layout called Dial, and for sure none of these extraneous labels will show. I would like to say, that I think your Control Panel design (layout) is awsome, and I may want to copy it someday! I hope all of this gets you going in the right direction....let us know how it goes.

I may have misunderstood your situation, I had just reinstalled Gamees to see if that would solve some problems I was having. When finished installing it, I had lost my favorites, and most played games. I still had all my old files, and replacing the new data.mbd with my old one did indeed fix the lost favorites. It sounds like you had a total crash, and no old files to move....
-
Barcio, I can see your panel now! If you would upload the files that HK asked for, I can take a look. Thanks.
-
I found this: It was from Tom, so its probably right! I would assume that the "Most Played" list is stored there as well. I just re-installed Gameex, and lost my Favorites so I'm going to copy this back from my old directory....I hope it works!

I am a little busy today, but I can work on it all day tomorrow.....it's just nice to know that I wasn't doing something wrong!
-
So your roms path is correct.... Go to setupwizard>advanced mame options Set Verify roms to "no" Set Use game filter to "no" Update list. That's all I got....Good Luck!
-
Just checking, your mame.exe is in a folder called mame32. and your roms are in a folder called mame. Is That Right?
-
I uninstalled Gameex, deleted the Gameex folder, and reinstalled. Didn't help. I uninstalled Mame, deleted the Mame folder, and reinstalled. Updated the nplayers, and all other .ini's. Didn't help I Went to Advanced Configuration, set it up to use the nplayer.ini, etc included in the Gameex folder, Problem solved. Tom, Are you sure you didn't change Something? It is starting to smell like a conspiracy I just update these things so if any one else has this problem, they will know how someone else solved it.

Barcio, I'm sorry, but I don't think I can help. I just can't get your CP to display correctly. I got it closer than before, but without knowing what you have, I wouldn't be able to tell you what to do. I'm sure somebody else will jump in here soon.

I must be missing a file I need? Maybe zip your whole CPWizard folder, I'll see if that helps. Wait a minute...I've got an error in my CPWixard.log Let me work on it.
-
Screenshots huh? Good Idea! Here's one of the first CP I downloaded: When I drag one of the Shapes at the bottom aroun, you can see it looks like an "M" I downloaded your new zip, it unzippped ok, but I basicaaly get the same picture as above, only now I can see your images (now that I have the T5 files), and when I right click on one of the large characters (such as the "M") It is indeed a label! So, in effect when I deleted all of the characters, I was deleting your labels. Really Strange.... Anybody want to jump in here? You don't have to wait three days to join in.

I thought AdvanceMame was specialized for TV's in some way? Not arguing, I really am curious....
-
I use Mameui32 with no problems... Could you post your Gameex.in located in the "program files>Gameex>Config" folder?
-
The files I downloaded were strange...Can't really explain it, 7z didn't see it as a .zip, so I just pulled the files I needed out of what looked to be your desktop? and your CP had a bunch of super-sized outlines of numbers and letters. No, I don't do drugs....that's not it So I deleted all the random stuff out of the way to get to your CP. None of the images show up because they are T5 series and I only go up to T4, but that doesn't matter...I don't see any labels on your CP at all, only images. Maybe all that random stuff I deleted were labels? I think that the file must be corrupted. I see that somebody else downloaded it, Would you verify what I'm seeing? Barcio, Could you try uploading the files again? Or would you download the ones you uploaded before and see if they work for you?
-
That looks interesting! I will check it out as soon as I fix what I broke 30 minutes ago
-
I see what you are looking at.... And you knew about the bezels because of the -artwork option... Thanks for the heads up!
-
If I asked really nicely, would you mind sharing the other files for that you have for different control types? Please?
-
I would try going to advanced mame settings in the setup wizard, And getting rid of -artwork -artwork_directory artworkgameex in the "Mame Options"
