  1. Suggestion for Gameex: Add an option to autorun the last game played on startup, a game chosen by the owner. a random game on your favourite list or a random game of a certain emulator (mame, nes, sms, whatever)...
  2. december is almost over... and no one beats my highscore? am I dreaming? where are those players who always beat me when there're only a few days left?
  3. Here I am again... seems like I'm doing something wrong... Here's what I tried: 1. my gameex loads (run on startup don't wait) the Xpadder settings for my gamepad and controls. so, I added that .bat file to my windows start menu to run before gameex, and added the runitgame.bat that was inside DATA folder on gameex instead. result: mame loads with the last game run (GREAT!) but the global exit combo doesn't work, (added on xpadder so pressing 2 buttons for 3 seconds would trigger the emulator exit). so... it doesn't work. second try. load the xpadder settings on run on startup don't wait and load the runitgame.bat on the other startup option in gamex. screen goes black. if I close whatever is being loaded, I can see gameex loading and leaves me on the gameex menu. third try: copy my xpadder setting loader bat file with the runitgame.bat as startup.bat. load startup.bat as the run at startup don't wait. I place a small bat that will copy again my xpadder loading bat with the most recent runitgame.bat and save it as startup.bat when I exit gameex. result: screen goes black. I can see the game but not hear it. I can't see gameex either. global exit doesn't work either. I can see the taskbar and gameex selected, but nothing else. any idea?
  4. hi there.... I was just looking for this i fixed my arcade cab's coin slots, and was wondering how could I make it run the last game played on startup... I just didn't realised it would be as easy as launching the last game bat file on startup thanks for the hint
  5. something I also like from this game is the fact that enemies pops at random or looks like that. you can go back, and the map won't be empty... more enemies will keep popping out
  6. congrats for a really deserved title, Adultery
  7. Checked and verified... if you have continue to NO, you can't set initials :? It's weeeeeird.... I would suggest to ENABLE continue... just DON'T do it... My highscore without initials... 533.100
  8. Yeah... just destroy everything LOL... and remember you only get the bonus points if you walk over them while they're on the ground and they dissapear quick! Great score, BTW!
  9. Maybe I have that option to autoexit the game enabled... I'll check it out Finally I was able to get some cheap coin selectors to complete my arcade cabinet, and I want to set a game for my friends and family whenever they come home Something like the game of the day (and avoid them messing with the GUI LOL.... just play one game and compete for the highscores ) EDITED: Done! Thanks for the tips I had the exit on inactivity enabled, so after some while the emulator was shut down, back to gameex and then the screensaver was launched
  10. Yeah, that left me puzzled... if you set not to continue... I don't know why it still shows the countdown :? Anyway, I'm glad you're enjoying this game I'll copy my favourite list to the poll
  11. Hi there! This can be something as easy as changing some option on the setup, but I can't find it. I would like to set a game on gameex, then keep it running. But if I set a game to run I don't want screensaver to popup or game to go back to gameex. Is there any way I could set the screensaver to run when I'm on gameex menu, but not when a game is launched? (and despite time being in the game without user input, don't go back to gameex)?
  12. This game, along with Wonder Boy 3, Hammering Harry (although I never was good at it), Metal Slug, King of Dragons, Toki, Snow Bros, Pipi&Bibis, 3 Wonders, Mega Twins, Joe&Mac Caveman Ninja, Superpang or New Zealand Story were always my favourites. Ghost&Goblins and Ghoul&ghosts too, but I suck at them LOL
  13. Here in spain token machines were somehow too late. They appeared years after the arcade era was over. Now there're just a couple of them. Mostly on big malls. The only one I know still working is 75km away from my home, and it's really really expensive. They also have a couple arcades, the last ones with huge cabinets pretending to be cars, bikes and whatever. You can also see 2 old generic arcade cabinets, where you can play pang or other classic game. On the arcade era, when we used 25 pesetas'coins the price was almost like yours, as its value was nearly a quarter. I could consider me lucky if my parents gave me 100 pesetas, as then I could play 3 times. even 4 if I spend nothing on candy and bubble gum LOL... Now if you want to play those games, each game costs 50 euro cents... more than 3 times that price. Only people who lived and loved the arcade era plays those games... but arcades will never be the same. We'll keep the memories, though And yes, sometimes I pretended I was playing too.
  14. Something for you to beat 336.140
  15. Aaawesome! I'll start playing tonight Quick tip for people that never played this game... if the stage looks too crowded you can try to shoot at it a couple bombs... most objects can be destroyed. Quick tip #2: you can spend LOTS of bombs. For best results, when you spot an enemy that uses to throw bombs at you, let him throw the bomb, then shoot at the bomb to get one for you Quick survival tip: You can shoot enemy's bullets. Quick survival tip2: ROLL! ROLL!
  16. After many (MANY) tries, finally I got a highscore worth publishing I never played this game, so I'll accept this was just newbie luck... as you can see on my older highscores, never reached even half this score so... 161.730 BTW, I really love to try new games. There're so many new games where you have dozens of keys, combos, 3D, multiplayer... I really like these old games. Pure fun. no learning curve, just play and play and keep playing to improve... That time when you spotted a new arcade machine on an arcade, or inside a bar... and watch the attraction mode for clues. then wait for somebody to play and learn to play watching others playing... (or risk to lose your few coins playing blind when you were really confident about your skills)... those were great days indeed
  17. well, I didn't realise on my first try that there was a timer it's a though game!
  18. Just some tips, as Pang (even more SuperPang, and not so great Pang3) deserve a place on the most popular arcade games (at least in spain lol)... do not pop big bubbles near the ground as the smaller ones will bounce right at you. check bubble's size. Large - Big - Medium - Small - pop! If you hit a large one, you can move a bit away, fire again, away, fire, away fire... and you'll pop 1 large, 1 of the bigs, one of the medium, and 1 of the small... and no more bubbles will bounce towards you. try to pop smaller bubbles first. don't pop biggest ones if you have many small ones or you'll be inmerse on a bubble hell bouncing everywhere. if you hit a bubble too near the ground (right above you) you won't be able to avoid dynamite if it's dropped, and you'll regret that. remember you can walk under even the smallest bubbles. there can be 2 (or more) small bubbles bouncing together, so even if you know you hit and pop it, don't stay where it could hit you... as it might be two of them. worst weapon (IMO), gun. best weapon overall: double harpoon. best weapon on levels with low ceiling/obstacles: hook.
  19. hint for new players. try to destroy the "glass" walls on every level, there're some levels that have extra lifes hiding inside some of them ...and avoid dinamite as the plague!
  20. As I've noticed, you must change difficulty to normal (default: easy) and extra life at 100.000 (default 50.000) other settings are ok
  21. I'll check if those are the default settings, and try playing with them... never played this game, and first time I didn't noticed the time and that huge red thing killed me... Second time I reached level 2 (I know, I sucks in this game lol)... but my highscore was better on my first try?
  22. Hi there! I already have a custom theme for my arcade classics' cabinet, but with so many systems... mame, pinball, nes, snes, n64, master system, genesis, psx... I realized I mostly use MAME on it, so I was thinking about making a new custom theme... But I don't know how. I would like to only support game, and load mame's games on startup. The interface should have game's marquee on the top, game list on the left, game preview video on the right. How can I make the marquee appears for each game? I mean I can use two image boxes, but how can I choose what's displayed on each?
  23. Although twingalaxies is on maintenance, I found rygar's tournament settings somewhere else Rygar Difficulty: Normal Lives: 3 Extra live: 100,000 Dipswitches: Unknown #1: off Unknown #2: off Unknown #3: off 2p can start at any time: no Allow continue: no http://cubeman.org/tgts.txt
  24. I can't get a better highscore... -sigh!- 29.580
  25. There're more in that highscore photo than meets the eye
