  1. So here I am, trying to setup zinc and make some games more playable with my arcade... and it's a nightmare to get it working!! I've read every forum topic I could find, tried many wrappers, many frontends, many configurations... So far, ZincGui works fine, so the emulator can run some games, but in gameex when I choose to play any zinc game the screen goes black, I can see some kind of window popping out, then after a second or two gameex pops in and the "play this game now" screen is all I can see. it's making me mad! from the log: from gamex.ini
  2. Hi there! I only had the roms of the games I knew from years ago, but just to try something new, I got a full rom set, and now it's a complete mess navigating to the games I already tried and liked. I know I can add them to my favorites list on each game's description page, but is there any way to map a joystick button/combo so I could just add them on the game selection page instead? that would make it way faster
  3. I'll check it later, thanks! BTW, another suggestion: When gameex suggest you other games on the game details screen it should filter the suggestions with your available roms so it would only suggest games you can play.
  4. Lol I know, I just though it was a bug... Now I'll go there and post the suggestion
  5. A suggestion then, filter that database results with your available rom list
  6. Hi there again I managed to use xpadder without problems. On newest vpinball I can set "buttons", but not for 2 different joysticks, just one, so I can't use it either. Plus it's not backwards compatible, and most of the tables I have wouldn't work Anyway, I'm planning on checking the tables I use the most, then get only those ones (now I have a huge pack and never played most of them) and change my pinball to the newest one with the newest tables
  7. Hi there! I just checked some game's details, and when gameex suggest other games like them I see rom names that I don't have, so if you click on them, emulator (obviously) crashes. Shouldn't gameex suggest only games based on the ones you have listed?
  8. Don't even know if this has been already available, I just can't find it... Now I have MAME on the main menu, and every other system in emulated games. I just use gameex as arcade cabinet, and would be great to have all the game systems available on the main menu instead of a submenu
  9. It would be great to be able to use two (or more) joysticks when defining keys in gameex. Just like I can set mame to use any button, either player 1 or player 2 sides, gameex should separate if the button is player 1 or player 2 side. Just an example: I want to set the exit combo with both flipper/bump sides, so that's 4 buttons. 1pF,1pB, 2pF 2pB. I have the controls splitted in half, so each "joystick" only manages half the buttons. But when I try to set them on gameex it's the same no matter which one you click. as I have them on the same buttons of each side, it just places twice each button. it should be (just to make it clear) 1A|1B|2A|2B. and for gameex it's just A|B|A|B. I just need to click the 2 buttons on either side to make it exit. Not what I wanted. On a more classic approach, tried to set the exit code to 1player/2player buttons at the same time. I just get the same button twice. A|A. If I set this, I just click on 1player or 2player and the game exits. :( Again, tried to use joystick 1 for up/down/left/right and joystick 2 for fast paging using left right. Now if I try to go to the left or right with player 1 joystick it also jumps page up/down...
  10. Hi there! I already tried xpadder and it's working great I don't know exactly what controller I'm using, just bought a pack from ebay It's just small PCB with one exit to usb and pin connectors. It supports 2 joysticks, 1 player with 12 buttons, and player 2 with 10. Windows recognises it as two "Xin-Mo dual Arcade". one with 10 buttons and the other one with 12. Works great, and it's cheaper than an jpac or whatever (about 22-23 euros) I would like to set the exit combo to both 1P/2P buttons but guess what? They are on different joysticks so I can't set them in gameex because it just recognises the button number, not which joystick is each :(
  11. Well, I just kept trying changing everything on gameex... it looks like it's fixed now. I just removed the "also run" vpauto command and now it works fine.
  12. Hi there! I just downloaded a pack of pinball tables, and they all work great alone... it's using an old visual pinball/pinmame/vplauncher and works great, runs great... using vplauncher. The roms are some of them zipped, some of them in vpt format, and they're placed in folders inside the tables folder. I setup gameex, set the working paths, and it won't display all the tables, just a handful of them. Then I tried unzipping the tables and filter only .vpt, and now it displays all of them... but when I try to launch them it just does nothing. The screen blinks, I see a glimpse of my desktop, then goes back to gameex ??? what can I be doing wrong? emu_5_startpagelogo=Pinballemu_5_startpagename=[Pinball] Visual Pinballemu_5_titletext=Pinballemu_5_info=Visual Pinball offers real time Pinball Development System. It allows you to design and play your very own pinball simulationemu_5_website=http://www.randydavis.com/vp/intro.htmemu_5_requiredfiles=emu_5_downloadurl=http://www.gamesdbase.com/setupwizard/emulators/download/Visual%20Pinball.7zemu_5_rating=emu_5_version=9.1.2emu_5_emulator=Visual Pinballemu_5_category=Pinballemu_5_system=Pinballemu_5_enabled=Trueemu_5_cdcheckfile=emu_5_romsinfolders=True EDITED: just installed another pack, which also runs great alone. it already has every table unzipped too. If I launch a .vpt from the windows explorer it runs fine. If I load it from the file menu un vpinball works fine... if I set gameex debug mode and then run the .bat in data folder IT RUNS FINE! but when I try to launch it from GameEx it just loads (I can see the vpinmame popping out) then exits. Weeeeird :? The bat file
  13. Hi there! I wanted to set the exit combo in gameex to both my left/right flippers/bumpers buttons, which are mapped to joystick 1 7-8 buttons and joystick 2 7-8 buttons, but when I try to set them on gameex it just displays buttons 7 and 8... twice. I just won't recognise different joysticks so now just pressing any of them, left or right ones, the emulator exits. It works great for other games, but I guess it'll have some problems with pinballs... any idea? as just one suggestion for gameex... make it so you have to press the global exit buttons for X seconds before triggering the action would be great...
  14. Hi there! I just finished building my own arcade fun center :D I'm using an arcade-2-usb controller, and although every other emulator works like a charm, I'm getting problems mapping the buttons for vpinball... The controller creates 2 different joysticks, and I can't find how to map the keys Can anybody help me with that? The keys I need to be mapped: Left flipper joystick 2, button 7 Left bump joystick 2 button 8 Right flipper joystick 1 button 7 Right bump joystick 1 button 8 Plunger joystick 1 button 10 Center Bump joystick 2 button 11 Coin joystick 2 button 10 1 player/start joystick 2 button 9 (this is my arcade if you're curious )
  15. Well, I just wanted to have it all neat and tidy on a hard drive so I can switch computers. Just to clarify, I have it registered and running on my desktop pc, but my old laptop is going to die soon. At least the screen, which now flickers like mad and shows weird colored vertical lines. I was planning to move everything into the portable hard drive hoping someday I'll manage to build a complete arcade cabinet using my old laptop as core, yet being able to get everything, plug it on my desktop pc and keep playing if I want to... For now I ordered some buttons to fix and old arcade control panel and use it as it deserves, and I'll try to get a spare computer monitor or something like that. Then I just need to scrap some old computer speakers and I'll have everything I need, just with standard connectors, vga, usb joystick and audio jack for the speakers. Then just learn how to make a cabinet and cut straigh lines LOL and there I go! This is me with my desktop computer The old control panel wired to a gamepad, but without enough buttons the yellow ones are linked. Now I ordered a usb to arcade controller (2 joysticks, 22 buttons) and some new buttons, so I can have 1-2 player button, 2 joystick, 6 buttons per player, 4 side buttons for pinballs (flipper/bump) and 4 front buttons for service or whatever (coin, menu, frontal pinball bump, maybe exit... still unsure about those) I just can't wait for it :D (now I hope I won't crack the lexan cover of the controls... I'll guess I'll use the metal drill at low speed just in case...
  16. Hi there! I want to use gameex along with all the emulators, roms and everything I need on a external usb hard drive, so I can just plug it on any of my computers and start playing Question is: as the drive letter may be different from one computer to another, is there any way to make gameex use relativa paths or something to make it portable? I mean, instead of use something like D:\games\gameex\emulator\mame\roms use something like .\emulator\mame\roms thanks!
  17. Hi there! After trying Gameex for a couple hours I decided to register it and remove the nag screen... so I did... but the nag screen at startup is still there How can I remove it? Already got the registry file and applied it but...
