    neo-geo

What version of MAME are you using. There was some discussion here last week or so that mentioned that some of the recent 'u' builds had broken Neo Geo support. I doubt they would leave it that way for a full release, so I'm guessing you are using one of those 'u' builds? If so, try using a final release and see how that works out.
  2. Just checking
  3. Is it just me or is emulator-zone broken? I can't go to any system to list the emulators from either IE or Firefox.
  4. Are you asking about the emulators or the roms? If you want to find out about the latest emulators, then you probably want to go to http://www.emulator-zone.com/ and check each system that you want to run. They list the latest version of each emu for the system and give a user preference while they're at it so you know what most people prefer. If you are asking about where to get roms...tsk tsk tsk. You know that's a no-no! You will want to obtain a no-intro, good tools, or tosec set for each system though.
  5. Now if I can just find a place to spend those points. Perhaps I can use them at the GameEx shop? I've been thinking of getting a GameEx onesy for a while now. Do they come in adult sizes?!
  6. wrong thread...sorry
  7. If you uninstall GameEx, it doesn't remove your config files AFAIK. If you didn't delete the "C:\Program Files\GameEx" directory, then you will have the same config you did before.
  8. COOOL! A lapel sticker! Now I can show people in business meetings what I would rather be doing. I was going to pick up a 50 pack of bumper stickers, but I wasn't sure if Tom wants GameEx associated with vandalism I don't know if you'll sell anything Tom, but you definitely got a laugh out of me on a couple of those items (yes I saw the thong!)...

Tempest with an asteroids image?! Did Flash hack your account or have you finally admitted something?
  10. HA ha! Brian got his slashes backwards NOTE: If you've been here long enough, you know that he called me on EXACTLY this same thing a while ago...
  11. HK was just suggesting that you keep the files that both programs use in a single location so that when they need updating you only have to do it once. You can certainly keep one copy of these files for each application that uses them, it just means you will have to remember each location when you do an update. I personally keep all dat type files in one location (C:\Emu\MAME\DATS). When I update MAME, I update all of the files in that directory that I can (some don't get updated that often since their authors don't...controls.dat for instance). There's no "right" or "wrong" way to do it.
  12. Sounds reasonable! Only thing that might be a concern is for people like me where the company has a strict domain filter in use. If it sees "porn" in the html anywhere, it will probably balk. Site's coming along nicely though!
  13. I suspect that your best bet is to strip the DMR out of the file. I don't think Tom would want us discussing that topic here, but there are a number of ways to do it that Google can help you with.
  14. The first line with "Left=True" does tend to hide for some reason. I've missed it myself before. Glad you got it working. BTW, you don't need to use XPadder for this at all now. In fact, the way you have XPadder set up is wrong if you only want to send escape when you press both buttons 7 and 8. What you have setup is either 7 or 8 will send escape. If you want to do a combination like you are suggesting, you need to use sets. It's a bit complicated to explain, so unless you really need it, I'll just stop here. Have fun!
  15. In order to figure out what button you need to set to true, you can use the windows controller setup util and go to properties. It will show you what button you are pressing at the time. Just press the one you want and set that one to true in GameEx.
  16. Have you looked at using an advanced config for your emu's? There is a multi-key exit combo that can be set up to do just what you are asking about.
  17. 500 Mb of ram should be plenty, so I don't think that's your issue. I've had bad ram in the past and it didn't cause this problem for me, but that's not saying that couldn't be the problem. I think it might be best for Tom to take a look at this and see what he thinks. He probably knows where it's failing at a minimum so it might help figure out why. My suggestion would be to try adding about half the icons in the directory and see if it loads. If it does, remove those ones and put in the other half. If it still loads, then it's not a single corrupt icon file, it has to do with the quantity of icons for some reason. You may need to reduce this from half to a third, a quarter, etc. to find a quantity that will load and then use the procedure above.
  18. Post the entire log. It's helpful to see system configuration etc when diagnosing the problem. Thanks.

    Dragons Lair

I guess if you don't have a game then you won't be able to play it? Maybe that's too obvious though.
  21. Ok, fine... Guess that means that I'll just have to power on the machine and perform the update and update the cached data before I let anyone see things. Thanks for the explanation!
  22. I have a question/request regarding the emulator caching. If I don't want to wait 20 minutes to have all emulators cache, is it possible to hit any button on the CP and have it cancel the operation until the next time a page is loaded? I'm thinking that if something changes and GameEx thinks it needs to recache while I have company over, having it sit for a long time with no idea why (appearing to hang) might be frustrating. Perhaps a "please hold on a second, I'm busy" message or something might help. Just a thought... Nice job!
  23. Huh, I didn't realize that I could have it unpause too. I've been using it without and wondered about that. I'll have to get that tweaked next chance I get. Thanks!
  24. The option is in MAME. If you hit TAB in MAME then you have to select VIDEO OPTIONS (or something like that) and it will give you the choice of formats. The list depends on what formats the game was designed to work in. For instance, PlayChoice-10 games will give you the option for dual monitor.
  25. I just figured out why I can't see the hover text. I'm using Firefox where it doesn't work. If I load up IE, it works fine. Damn M$... Btw, you have GameGear listed as a console not a handheld.
