  1. Are you using a SlikStik or IPAC too?
  2. Have you tried service mode? ============================= Q: I have GameEx locked so users cant do things such as update the list or exit. Is there a special service mode that unlocks GamEx, so I can update the list, delete all favorites, exit or create snaps? A: To enter service mode do the following: Keep navigating back to until the buffer is cleared. Go to the start page. Then do these controls in order. BACK PAGE UP PAGE DOWN LEFT UP VOLUME UP To lock again and end service mode follow the same procedure.
  3. Anyone running Windows 98 or Windows ME can you answer either or both these questions please? 1. Does the Videos module work for you in GameEx? 2. Does the DVD Player work? Thanks, Tom
  4. For starters copy the ROMS from the CD to your hard disk. Then post your log.
  5. Maybe GameEx can get some sponsorship from Maxtor
  6. Hi All, I am not getting hardly any bug reports. Please do post any bugs you find with GameEx, big or small. I can't believe my coding is that great that there arnt any I spot the odd thing myself now and then.. Please do help build a better GameEx. As with feature requests, bug reports are activly encouraged. Thanks, Ton,
  7. Could you tell me your operating system and PC hardware? Which version of Windows Media Player do you have? Is the GameEx toolbar visible at the top of the screen, when you move the mouse? Do the videos play when GameEx is in windowed mode?
  8. Your welcome truant. I am sorry I dont plan to add Goodmerge support in the near future.
  9. I dont think its getting that far Rob: http://tomspeirs.com/gameEx/docs.htm Paragraph 3 and specifcally 4: 4: 'If you have troouble getting MAME to show up in GameEx, check the log, this will tell you why GameEx disabled MAME.'
  10. This is the third setting (Video Path/s) under Multimeda/HTPC in the configuration application (You may need to click next page)
  11. Can highly recommend this software, had perfect results, and its completly bloat free unllike say Sonic MyDVD. It allows you to create a DVD Video from an AVI file, simply and in less than an hour on my system) You do need to then go ahead and burn it with some burning software though such as Nero, but anyone with a DVD-Recorder probably has that. Pretty good value too at $30
  12. Thats what I am trying to say, resuming snaps does this. I think it's already an option.
  13. I thought you could do this for 'missing' snaps only by 'resuming' create snaps?
  14. I dont plan to implement this directly in the GUI, but this is now possible anyway. For the emulator config just tell it use to the cached MAP File. There stored in the data directory.
  15. You make a very good point. I've actually been thinking about writing a configuration wizard app for GameEx and replacing the Basic Config application with it. Either that or extending the Basic Config application.
  16. OfflineList support is kind of a redundant feature now. Rather then help troubleshoot this. Yourll be much better going to http://www.screenshotarchive.com/ for your snaps. It also features additional artwork/snaps than offlinelist.
  17. 30th June 2005 - GameEx 4.52 Fixes Dialog Font colour in Default - GameEx Theme New GameLauncher Theme
  18. 12th June 2005 - GameEx 4.51 Includes new theme - Default - GameEx Added MAWS Hall of fame News Feed 30th June 2005 - GameEx 4.50 Fairly good update this. GameEx now features an internet news reader, with support for RSS 1 and 2 feeds. Sample feeds are included with the install. Features a clean display of news, caching of feeds, and availability to view the source of news items within the GX front end as a web page. GameEx can now be used as a standalone DVD player, by launching with the command line option -DVD. When using this option, GameEx will load without any intro screens or sounds, and immediately play the currently inserted DVD, with all available DVD and GameEx navigation features. The player exits appropriately when called to. By default GameEx will now exit and MCE will load correctly when the green button is pressed on the MCE remote, or when MCE is loaded from a shortcut key, or other remote. Games list for emulators are now cached after the first load of the list. This should greatly improve accessing speed of the list when ROMS are on a network/remote, and also improving navigation speed within GameEx. Picture slide shows now feature the option for very cool MCE stylie transitions. Requires a good CPU and video card though. The time can now be shown in 24 hour format.
  19. Hey all, I've just finished implementing support for RSS 2 News Feeds in the GameEx frontend. I think you will all like it if you wanted this kind of feature. If not just turn it off I want to provide some default news feeds with the next release, and wanted to put it out there to see if anyone knows of any good gaming, emulation, mce, http or technology news feeds to include. Theres pretty much no limit to what I can include so let us know in this thread. Cheers.
  20. Hi Night. Please dont take it personally, I've just not had the time to look at your layouts yet. I need to install Photoshop etc before I even start. As I said, please dont take offense. I am just busy.
  21. Have you got this? AlsoLaunch=[apppath]\vpauto.exe MapKeys=False WaitBeforeKeys=
  22. Works perfectly for menow. Try This: GameEx.zip
  23. Dont waste your time, the next version of GameEx does automatic caching to a map file
  24. See above, the version of MAME you are using is over 2 and a half years old. I would try getting a newer version as my suggestion at this time. Simply: Old versions of MAME cannot create the output files necessary for GameEx to update the list. Get a new version. Tom
  25. Post the log file, and Ill help.
